September 2015 Empties Part 2 – Hair, Shower and Skincare

If you missed Tuesday’s post featuring the first section of my empties which was focused on Makeup and Fragrance, click to see that here. This time we’ve got Hair and Skin Care with some shower products too.

HAIRCARE

L’Oreal Pure Colour Dazzling Colour Shampoo and Conditioner

By far the best sulphate and paraben free shampoo and conditioner I’ve tried, this is the second set of these which I’ve had and I absolutely love them. The shampoo foams up with ease (which I’ve struggled to find going sulphate-less) and the conditioner makes the hair softer and smoother without weighing it down. The best part about this is the smell, quite lightly scented with mint, juniper and rosemary this leaves your hair smelling fresh.

Repurchase? Yes, not straight away as I’ve ended up with a lot of samples of shampoo and conditioner to try, but I will come back to this.

Soap and Glory Glad Hair Day Conditioner

Juxtaposed next to the L’Oreal this is bloody awful, the shampoo of this is still lingering in my shower. But together the pair of them did a right royal job of messing up my hair. Again suphate and paraben free, I found the shampoo didn’t foam up well and was difficult to rinse out as a result, and the conditioner left my hair dry and impossible to brush through. In the end I ended up using this on my legs as shaving cream.

Repurchase? Hellllll No.

L’Oreal Mythic Oil

I was planning on doing a post called ‘products you think will never end’ focussed around this product specifically – but now I don’t need to. I have had this bad boy for 3 and a half years from one of my very first glossyboxes. using every time I washed my hair on my mid-end lengths, and sometimes as a finishing smoothing product, I have no idea why this took so long to finish but it did. Arguably a good thing, but because it was around for so long I became sick of the sight of it a little.

Repurchase? Not for now as I have a hundred other hair oil samples which have almost never been tried thanks to this staying around for so long!

Tigi Bed Head After Party

This is such a reminiscent product for me, I first discovered this when I was started my job as Saturday girl in a hairdressers at 14 whilst I started preparing to be doing my hairdressing apprenticeship which I never ended up doing! A bottle which always raises a few eyebrows, After Party (only adds to the questionable crudeness) is a finishing product . I’ve had 3 or 4 of these in the past and whilst I do love it, I feel like there’s a lot of other products which do a similar job for me if needed now and are more multipurpose such as oils which smooth out the hair and remove static. Given my hair product drawer is the most overflowing I don’t want to replace it, although it does hold a special place in my heart.

Repurchase? Probably one day, but for now no.

L’Occitaien Amande Shower Oil

Recieved in August Pink Parcel this got used very quickly because I absolutely adore the scent. Smelling just like pure Almonds I walked out the shower feeling like a Bakewell and loved it. I didn’t love the texture of the oil so much though.

Repurchase? I would for the scent if it was cheaper, but will see if they do this fragrance in anything else

Duck Island Shower Gel x 2

I hope to say that I’m finally at the end of all the Duck Island products I swiped from a swanky hotel back in May. Let it be a lesson to you not to nick stuff from the Maid’s Cart, as you will inevitably become sick of the seeing them. What’s nice in a hotel might not be so great at home. Smelt fine, but tainted by my own ill feelings towards them.

Repurchase? Sore subject. no.

NSPA Melting Cleansing Gel

Reviewed fairly recently here so I won’t talk too much about it. I liked this at the start, and was making an effort to try and use a cleanser up as I have about 7 at the moment and wanted to use one up before jumping onto the next thing, but I think my skin just got used to it – or something else started to disagree with it. I would get this again but swap it up in my routine after a few weeks

Repurchase? Not sure if I can as I picked this up for 50p in clearance so not sure if discontinued.

Have you tried any of these?

Ummm… that Tigi Bed Head After Party bottle! That’s the first thing I thought of when I saw your photo LOL! 😉
I might give the L’Oreal Pure Colour Dazzling Colour Shampoo a try. I always worry these types of shampoos would weigh my hair down.
Great job as always with using up products for the month!
