You may remember back at the start of December I reviewed Garnier’s Moisture Bomb sheet mask and declared my love for it, stating that I wished that serum was available separately as it did such a good job of rehydrating my skin. Garnier got in touch to let me know that whilst there wasn’t the serum available by itself they did have two moisturisers – one for the night, and one for the day also in the Moisture Bomb collection and offered to send me them to try. Given just how much I loved the mask I snapped their hand off.
The two moisturisers arrived to me in Mid December and I’ve been using one in particular pretty much daily since. From the skin active range, these Garnier moisturisers like the mask are formulated with a pomegranate extract which acts as an antioxidant whilst also giving skin a rehydrated boost.
The packaging of these products was lovely in shiny blue and white boxes which are really eyecatching and far more luxe looking than I would have expected from such a budget friendly line. Sadly one of my dogs decided (I don’t know which of them was the guilty party, they both have a track record) to destroy one of the boxes before I’d even had chance to open it or photograph it. The packaging of the products is simple and clean, it’s nothing flash and isn’t the prettiest for your bedside table, however it’s what’s inside that counts.
The day cream is a 3-in-1 moisturiser, not does it just offer rehydration, but it also being a product to help reduce signs of fine lines and with a built-in SPF 10 with UVA/UVB protection. The texture of this is a thin creamy formula which is almost watery in consistency. Easy to apply with a pump on top, I’ve found one pump the perfect amount as it spreads far as it’s thin.
I’ve particularly fallen for Moisture Bomb Night, it’s a gel cream hybrid made with 15% serum that feels instantly soothing an cooling to the skin. I imagine in summer when it’s warmer this would be a lovely thing to use at night – particularly if you’ve spent some time in the sun. It melts into my skin instantly and leaves no trace or residue behind. I’m probably now two thirds of the way through this and I’m going to be really sad when it’s run out as I can’t stop myself from using it.
Here’s the thing, I actually like these products the opposite way round to how they’re meant to be used. The night edition was an instant hit for me and I could use any time of day. The day cream whilst thin in formula seems to take ages to sink into my oily skin, I think pre any makeup steps I’d have to wait at least 20 minutes before I’d feel comfortable putting primer or foundation on. The gel-cream hybrid of the night cream sinks in instantly for me and doesn’t have a heavy kind of feeling at all. This works great for me with oily skin, but if you have normal or dry skin which sucks up all moisture the designated timings of the product would probably work well for you. I’m not 100% convinced that it would be as intense a boost a moisture for those with dry skins since it feels quite light for me, however I can’t guarantee that it wouldn’t be the case, however it is nice to have a moisturiser that doesn’t feel too heavy for me on the oily side, it’s all too often that brands cater for one side of the spectrum but not the other.
Since getting these I’d been using the night cream at night and whilst I’d tried the day cream a few times and not gotten along with it, I decided to flip them round using the night cream in the morning and the day at night over the past two weeks and I’ve gotten on with this routine well and my skin feels well hydrated, although of course I’m not getting the benefit of the UV protection at night!
Moisture Bomb Moisturisers are priced at £7.99 each (although regularly on offer, I’ve seen them for as cheap as £5.33). What are your favourite budget moisturisers?

I have the day cream and really like it but I haven’t tried the night cream yet but now I definitely want to! xxx
The night cream im in love with!
I have the day cream and I agree – it takes a while to sink in completely! I think I’ll pick the night cream up. Maybe I’ll try them the same way around that you use them and see how I get on with them!
Yes totally recommend the day cream, the texture is unsual but it’s a miracle worker for me!
I laughed about the dog part lol our pets and their secret adventures๐๐ great post! I definitely would pick this up to try if I see it probably the night cream first since most seem to like that one better.
Haha, my dogs are perpetually guilty of something! Definitely recommend the night cream, it seems to always be on offer here so wait for a discount!
Thanks for the tip!โจ
This line from Garnier seems amazing. I’m always on hunt for good moisturizing products. xx

Yes me too!
Would they be okay for sensitive skin? I need a new skincare routine ASAP and I have found nothing that I like and that is not too pricey. I have problems with redness and super dry and reactive skin. Would you recommend something?
I think they’d be fine personally, my skin has been all over the place over the last few months and have had phases where it’s been sensitive and I’ve got away with it!
Oh they sound nice! Although I don’t adore the mask I do enjoy using it as I like the feeling it gives! Lucky you with Garnier getting in touch! Xxx
I sat with my mouth open when the email came through! Which were the tony moly ones you liked I tried another the other day and was like ๐๐ฝ
I liked tea tree and aloe xxx
These products look great, I love the look of the texture, looks so smooth!
Would you possibly be able to check out my new post? https://thehummingbirdweb.wordpress.com/2017/02/18/these-boots-are-made-for-walkin/comment-page-1/#comment-93 xx
Thank you! I’m just about to catch an early night as I feel like a walking zombie, but I’m bookmarking to remind myself!
Awww haha I know the feeling, thank you so much x
The packaging is so lovely!
For a budget product, I think they look really nice!
They look promising. I have tried their sheet maskand I love the green one :-). Love your post
Thanks Ivana! I love the sheet mask too, I keep meaning to pick up another! x
I love them too ๐๐๐ป
I’ve been intrigued by this line. And no one says you HAVE to use a night cream only at night – as long as you pair it up with the appropriate sun protection. I don’t think there’s any harm in using UV protection when you sleep. ๐
Nope, I don’t mind not playing by the rules! Knowing you I might say that you might not find these as moisturising as what you’d normally go for, fine for me, but maybe a bit light for you – I still like the mask though!
It’s good to know that there’s an affordable type of skincare which actually works and shows the benefits. One of my favourite moisturisers I used for years was Boots own which was quite a rich moisturiser but was available in fragrance free and cucumber scent which was just ๐๐ผ I think the RRP on this was ยฃ1.99 and now I have a mortgage and responsibilities, this particular skincare you’re blogging about might be worth a purchase!

Oh I know what you mean, I have to calculate and plan to splurge on makeup and skincare now and I’m very choosy over which items I’ll splurge on – because my skin is oily I feel like I can get away with cheaper brands as I don’t need something so fancy for my skin!
I really like the look of these products. It’s really funny that you prefer to use the products, the other way around but I guess everyone will have their own personal preferences.
Weeks went by without me touching the day one and I was thinking how can I use this cause I do like it, and I just swapped them and voilรก, a much better routine for me!
I keep seeing this line in the shops and haven’t bought any as I’ve got something on the go already but definitely will pick it up when I’m done. The mask is great so I’m really glad you like the rest of the line! Great review as always ๐
Garnier were the first brand I really got into a skin care routine with – I was obsessed with their milk cleansers and toners! Since then (and it’s been a looong time) I’ve only ever picked up their Micellar Water. These look really good though, going to have to pick up a few bits next time I see them.

Other than Micellar water where I pretty much only pick up Garnier, I must admit that I’m more of a skincare snob I don’t tend to try anything else unless it’s mid-range priced or up when it comes to skincare, but this has got me rethinking my exclusivity and branching out to try some bits at the lower end of the scale!
This looks amazing! I will have to try it out ๐ I used Garnier for years and haven’t gone back to it for so long – I need to check them out again. Great review! xxx
Thanks Ella! Other than their Micellar waters I’ll admit I’ve not really touched their lines either, I’m glad I tried out the mask though as I’m going to become less of a skincare snob and try and find some high street gems!
I was looking through all the different hydrating products today and walked away without any because I couldn’t pick, may have to try these! Thank you xxx
Really good purse friendly option!
I love the mask of this range too, and I have been meaning to pick up the moisturisers to try! I’m so glad you like them and I will take on board the advice that you like them the wrong way round! Great post x
