Pretty much this time last week I was sat at my desk at work when my lovely colleague Sian bought be a parcel over – my second surprise delivery of the day – when I saw it had M&S on it I was practically kicking my feet and squealing with delight – we gleefully opened the box together and my jaw was practically on the floor with the contents.
Face Masks, lots of Face Masks.
Now I wanted to do this post to simply showcase the range of masks that are on offer from M&S at this point as it’s going to take me a fair while to try and test all of these for my Face Mask Friday Series – and also gather some feedback as to what ones you’d like me to see trying first.
Pixi Glow-O2 Oxygen Mask – £26
This is probably the most intriguing mask from the collection to me! I’ve tried a few bubbling masks in the past but this is one which sounds like it goes an extra step other than making you feel really clean. Other than Glow Tonic I haven’t tried any other of Pixi’s skincare. This claims to be a quick (2-3 minute) skin pick me up that only needs to be left on for a few minutes and revives dull and tired looking skin.
REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask – £36
This mask has come highly recommend from my friends Lora and Molly – but they’ve warned me it’s one I need to use frequently once opened as it expires quite quickly. This is described as a ‘potent’ mask which renews the complexion, evens out skintone, improves radiance and reduces signs of fine lines. The Glycolic & Lactic acids at the same time will perform chemical exfoliation to the skin – my skin is just recovering from 6 weeks of constantly breaking out and I can’t wait to put this to the test once I’m feeling fully recovered – but it might be a bit too harsh on some areas right now so in a month or so’s time I plan to pull this one out.
Pure Skin Remedy Nourishing, Deep Cleaning & Brightening Masks – £16.00 Each
Pure is a M&S own brand which I’m yet to try, I’ve got a hot cloth cleanser queued as my next cleanser to crack open. This trio of masks is perfect for targeting different areas of the skin for a multi-masking regime, I’ m particularly looking forward to trying out the deep cleaning mask, it sounds like one which would be great on my oily skin.
Emma Hardie Moringa Renewal Treatment Mask – £49
Emma Hardie is a brand I hear little about other than their cleansing balm (which is fantastic btw) – but this mask is one which has be curious, because for the price point I have high expectations. This is a radiance boosting mask which claims to add luminosity, increase hydration, moisturise, add firmness and reduce pigmentation. What I like about this is that it can also be used as a sleeping mask which can be used for a more intensive overnight treatment. I think this might be a relatively new release from Emma Hardie, I’m struggling to find any reviews on this mask or any ratings on places where it’s stocked.
Glamglow Tinglemud – £42
What a treat to be gifted a full size Glam Glow mask, I’ve reviewed this not once but twice (once only being a few weeks ago on my blog) and I think for that reason I may keep this aside for a future giveaway. Tinglemud I’d describe as a good all-rounder mask, it refreshes the skin, adds glow, exfoliates and helps dry out oil in my skin.
Origins Original Skin Retexturising Mask with Rose Clay – £26.50
Last but by no means least, Origins is a brand that I’ve only tried two things from – both of those being masks. I’ve tried a sheet mask and their popular Ginzings mask but this one sounds like one I’d really love. This comes with a bold claim to make pores almost vanish, while it gently exfoliates with jojaba beads, whilst refining skin texture. Again, clay is an ingredient that’s normally very oily complexion friendly an it’s another one that I’m looking forward to trying. It has a gorgeous light rosey scent too. The active ingredient in the Original Skin line is willowherb which is an anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-viral and an effective treatment for acne prevention.
I’m really looking forward to getting to grips with these masks – like I said please let me know if there’s any you’d like to hear about first – it’s kid in a sweet-shop territory and I have no idea where to start! You can find your face mask online where they currently have over 55 at Marks and Spencer’s here.
