Unboxing Look Incredible October 2016 + Giveaway

Jeez is it really mid October already? I keep thinking that the Look Incredible box is my ‘new subscription’ but this is now the tenth box that I’ve received from the service! For those who are unfamiliar, Look Incredible is a more premium beauty box service – with this subscription coming in at £21 with delivery, but the box has 5 full size products each month from high end brands such as NARS, Bare Minerals and even MAC!

The boxes are primarily makeup focused, but sometimes there is a skincare or haircare item thrown into the mix, but I’d say most of the time 4 or 5 of the products are makeup. October 2016’s box is a goodun’, with 5 full size products from Stila, The Body Shop, Ciate, NARS and Bare Minerals and is worth a whopping £75.98.

First item that caught my eye due to it’s large white lid taking up half the box, was the Body Shop White Musk Soft Body Polish (£15), this is a soft scrub that looking at the formula just reminds me of their Blue Corn Face Mask, I’ve not seen or heard of this before, but I do LOVE the Body Shop scrubs so I’m excited to have another (to add to my pile from my last Body Shop Haul) to try.

Next up I spotted NARS, a name I’m always happy to see crop up in this box I pulled it out straight away. It’s one of their Lip Pencils (£15) in the shade ‘More’ a gorgeous nude colour that I already have so many of. Heading to the giveaway pile as I just don’t need another shade like this – but still happy with it’s inclusion. Swatches online show this looking quite orange toned, but in person it looks a lot like MAC’s Whirl.

Next up Stila, a brand that I’m discovering more and more of thanks to this box, this is one of their Colour Balm Lipsticks in the shade Avery (£16), a pretty pale coral peach, again I wish this was as different colour, it’s nice, but it’s just not me – these paler lip shades just don’t work for my skintone.

Next up was a Bare Minerals Blush in the shade The Close Call (£19.99) this is another shade which is really nice, but I know just won’t sit right on my skin tone as I think it will be close to my natural colour, it’s a very neutral peach shade which has a soft sheen to it, I can imagine on both lighter skins and darker skins this will work nicely. It’s another one heading for my giveaway box! Again bad luck with this one – I also reach for the same peachy shades every day, and it’s rare I pick up anything else, so it may as well find a better home!

Last but not least is this Feathered Manicure Set from Ciate (£9.99), Featuring a Polish, Topcoat, 40 Feathers and the tools you need to be able to create a feathered look manicure. I’m half intrigued about this, half not interested – I don’t ever have much luck when it comes to Ciate products so I can’t decide whether to keep hold of this or not. Let me know if you’re interested in seeing a tutorial/review using it and that will make up my decision!

It’s a good box this month, sadly the shades that are featured here just aren’t my colours – or I have so many colours like it that it’s not worth hanging on to, so I’ve decided to giveaway the items that aren’t going to get the love they deserve from me! I’m planning on doing a Christmas Giveaway so I’m going to hold back a few of the items for that – but for now if you’d like to win the Stila Lipstick in Avery, you can enter in one of the following ways

>> Follow Me On Twitter, and Retweet the Competition Tweet <<

>> Like my Facebook page and write a comment on the competition post (pinned to the top of page!) <<

>> Follow Me On Instagram and Like and Comment on the post <<

You only need to do one of the above to enter, but every one you do counts as an additional entry, so you can grab up to three entries. Competition is open internationally, and closes 31/10/2016 at 23.59 GMT, I’ll DM the winner via their winning entry (or email you direct if I know who you are!). Good Luck!

  1. Arrrrgh so envious of this box! If only Look Incredible would come to N. America. We don’t get a great selection here in Canada.

Fun giveaway – I did the Instagram bit 🙂

  2. That’s it, I’m moving to the UK! This box is AMAZING!!!
Too bad the colours weren’t more to your taste though – your loss, our gain! 😉
I really like that BareMinerals blush – I can never say no to that type of colour!

    1. yes that colour is a very you shade, I did think of you when I opened it, I know it will just be a bit wishy washy on my complexion – and I always reach for that estee lauder one so what’s the point in it sitting unloved, I regret keeping another BM blush from this box earlier in the year would rather it went somewhere else, but was very tempted to keep it!
The NARS pencil is my colour but I just don’t need another one like it!

  3. Holy cow 5 full sized items for that price is a steal!! And it looks like you got some really great products in this month’s box. That bare minerals blush is such a gorgeous shade, too bad it won’t work on your skin tone 😦

  4. Too bad most of these items don’t work for you/you already have too many of the same shades – the things they sent you are AWESOME, and from pretty nice brands too.
Ugh, those Ciate sets…I don’t mind Ciate polishes themselves, but the sets where you’re basically doing crafts on your nails are just so messy.

    1. I’ve never really got on with Ciate full stop, I’ve always found they’ve chipped or applied horribly – I prefer their cheaper sister brand weirdly! I agree though their kits feel like they ran out of ideas and started looking on pinterest and started applying it to nail kits, their Foil one was a disappointment (https://helplesswhilstdrying.com/2014/03/19/ciate-colourfoil-manicure-review/) when I bought it in a CCO and I’ve not been back to them since! I think I’ll give it away to be honest – hopefully someone will want it haha!
