I wanted to do a super quick post today – I know I’m likely not the only one who is suffering with drier than usual lips thanks to the lovely cold spell that we’ve been having in the UK and wearing face masks seemingly zapping any form of moisture that’s left remaining from my lips. I’m finding I’m going through lip care products very quickly at the moment and I’ve been very close to finishing my current balm up which is attached to me and reapplied many times through the day. I’ve spotted the Cult Beauty Lip Edit online and wanted to share as I’m sure others may be interested.
I am trying to get this photographed, edited and written within my lunch hour – as I suspect this may be a popular one that sells out very quickly. The Starter Kits from Cult Beauty have been fantastic over the past few years that they’ve been doing them and this one very much reminds me of the Sephora Favorites style sets which I wish we could get our hands on here. This set has 5 different lip products in and features 5 products for £20 and is worth £55. (If you wanna skip my review and just go ahead and jump and buy it now, I don’t blame you and I have a link here to find it – Affiliate link – Cult Beauty Lip Edit).
Now this set is fresh out of the box and I’ve not put any of them on my lips, but as I’ve just photographed them all, and I have a couple of other new lip balms kicking around – I’m going to work on a blog post called a week in Lip Care and trial out a different lip care product a day over the next week, so prepare to see more in-depth reviews coming up.
Patchology FlashPatch Hydrating Lip Gels (Full Size worth £3)
The item I’m least excited by as I don’t tend to like products like this as I’m not a huge fan of things which are single use, however I will happily give it a try. A single use lip mask in a bio-cellulose texture, this sounds like something I’d use in the bath or while using a face mask, so I’ll reserve this for a scheduled self care session.
Glow Recipe Watermelon Lip Pop (Full Size worth £19.80)
I was excited to see this included as I have just finished reviewing and trying a bunch of other Glow Recipe products (review is up on that tomorrow) and loved their Watermelon Sleeping Face Mask, so I am looking forward to trying something else from the line. This smells just like the lip gloss and I think this will be the first thing I start with when I review. This contains AHA’s as well as Nourishing ingredients so it sounds like a great two in one for moisturising and exfoliating at the same time – it’ll be interesting to see how long term this may help with putting things like Lip Scrubs down.
Nuxe Reve de Miel Honey Limited Edition (Full size worth £15)
The Nuxe Reve De Miel is an absolute favourite for me when it comes to lip care and is something that when I have been going through complete lip disasters in the past I’ve gone back to again and again. With a thick mask like formula it lasts on the lips for a long time and gradually the lips seem to sap up every ingredient. This is a twist on the original and features the addition of honey, and I’m looking forward to seeing how this compares. Funnily the honey edition of this isn’t available separately on the Cult Beauty site, just the original, so if you’re a Reve de Miel fan looking to grab it then this is a good chunk of the box cost. One thing I didn’t realise before buying is that Nuxe is not Cruelty Free as I haven’t purchased from them since making the switch.
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Kiss (Full Size worth £15)
Twisting the cap off this solidifies why I want items from Sol de Janeiro, this smells absolutely incredible – like a delicious sweet dessert with that dark sugary scent that reminds me of sweet treats such as Churros. Another full size product and a fantastic value to add into the set. With the twist up style I think this might be a favourite “coat pocket” lip balm that is perfect for dog walks. I’m particularly intrigued on this one as it says it enhances natural lip colour – so I’m wondering how this is going to look on the lips.
Huda Silk Balm (Deluxe size worth £8.40)
This smells lovely too – with a sweet and subtle almond scent that initially I didn’t notice and after a few seconds smelt it wafting up my nose. This formula is more akin to a lip oil with a slight milky pink colour I imagine is going to make the lips look very full and will mean it could also be used to top over liners or matte colours if desired. The packaging of this is so pretty with an iridescent sheen. I’ve had a mixed experience with Huda’s matte lip products, but I’m very intrigued to see how this one pans out.
And that’s it – a short and sweet one. This does seem to ship internationally and if it works out as a good deal for you I’d recommend picking it up. Apart from the lip mask from Patchology which I’m not bothered by too much – I’m excited to try the rest of these out!
