Ten Empties #26

Ten Empties #26

So, here we are again – pretty much as soon as I’d finished off my last ten products, I found myself finishing loads more off within a few days. This edition is quite a mixed bag across all of the main categories this time around, and I’m really happy that the overflowing haircare section is a few bottles shorter in my drawer now.

Skincare

Beauty Pie Double Phase Cleanser (review)
First of the three Beauty Pie cleansers I compared recently and my least favourite of the three. This one I used in the shower to clean skin that was makeup free as it didn’t deliver on it’s claims of being able to dissolve makeup at all.
Repurchase? No

Makeup

Make Up For Ever Radiant Primer
I didn’t really get on with this primer at all. I found it a little brightening, but I didn’t find that it helped my foundation apply any smoother or last any longer. There are other primers I enjoy from MUFE much more than this one and I wouldn’t try this one again.
Repurchase? Nope thank you!

Autograph Shine Defence Pressed Powder (Gifted)
I really didn’t enjoy this powder from M&S, I think it may have now been discontinued as it’s no longer on their website. This powder should have been good for oily skin and keeping shine at bay, but it didn’t deliver for me. I found the formulation soft and silky to the touch, but I didn’t enjoy how it sat on the skin either.
Repurchase? No, but doesn’t seem like I could anyway!

Haircare

Salon Science Reglosse Smoothing Serum (Gifted) (Review)
I had this on my last use up list and thought it had a lot more left in it than it did, it’s heavy opaque packaging fooled me into thinking there was more inside. I enjoyed this a lot, but I think this whole Swiss Grape range from Salon Science has now been discontinued, which is a shame as my hair really liked it! This serum was really good for smoothing out my hair and adding a lot of shine and I like that it worked on both wet and dry hair.
Repurchase? Would love to but can’t!

Tigi Catwalk Honey and Oatmeal Conditioner
In a bid to be more eco friendly, I decided to start buying bigger conditioner and shampoos as I go through them so quickly for whilst I am at home and then only take smaller ones travelling. This one is an old favourite and I discovered that B&M Bargains stock them at a fraction of the price than they can be bought in salons and online. This big bottle lasted me about 2 months I purchased at the end of November. I highly recommend B&M for some bargain haircare – these bottles are £6.99 each.
Repurchase? I already have, and purchased the shampoo as well this time.

Batiste Damage Control Dry Shampoo
I got this in my Glossybox last month and was fairly impressed with it. It’s better than other editions of Batiste that I’ve tried but still doesn’t beat it to the top spot. It wasn’t a big enough sample to really test out it’s damange control claims.
Repurchase? Maybe, but unlikely.

La Riche Directions Lavender
I knew this wouldn’t take to my hair well and just give my hair a tinge for a couple of washes. My sister is getting married in a few months and I’m resisting the urge to dye my hair anything bright until it’s passed in may. This would work better on very light bleached hair for a lilac tone.
Repurchase? Maybe. but now now!

Bodycare

Lush Santa’s Belly Shower Jelly
I can not tell you how much I hated this. It was forever dropping on the floor. It’s scent was very light and I never really felt clean after using it. Last Lush product in my collection and I don’t think I’ll be heading back again in future.
Repurchase? Absolutely not.

The Body Shop Frosted Berries Shower Gel (Gifted as compensation for attending an unrelated event)
I thought I would love this scent as Berry fragrances are usually my jam but found this one pretty light (still better than the Lush one though!). I’d use it again if I had it, but there’s other Body Shop scents I like a lot more than this if I was repurchasing for myself.
Repurchase? No

Maybelline Dr Rescue CC Nails Base Coat (review)
I picked this up a couple of years ago as I enjoyed the topcoat from the same range and has been my base coat of choice for the past few months. This however was a bad product and I found it peeled off the nails and acted more like a peel off base coat! I think this may have been discontinued also, as I can’t find it stocked online in places like Boots and Superdrug any more.
Repurchase? No

Extras

Colgate Max White Crystal Toothpaste
I Liked this one, very freshening!

Calvin Klein CK IN2U Her (review)` (Gifted)
I’ve had full size of this in the past but I received a vial of this in the Secret Scent Box that I was sponsored with in November. I am not being paid to mention this again, however I have finished up the item. A nice every day perfume if you like citrus scents.

Drunk Elephant Framboos Serum & C-Tango Eye Cream Samples
I thought I’d give these sachets a try before cracking open the full and deluxe sizes I have of these, to make sure I didn’t have an adverse reaction!

My empties spreadsheet is back again and I’ve started a fresh sheet for 2019 you can find it here should you want to track my progress or grab the template so you can also track your use ups! Should you want to check out the rest of my Ten Empties series, you can do here.

Have you tried any of these before? Have you finished anything up recently, please let me know in the comments below!

How did you get so much product out of the Maybelline base coat? I have the Dr Rescue top coat and there’s about 1/3 of product left that I can’t get out 🙁

Those shower jellies are so weird! I used one up once by ripping it into little bits and kind of smashing the pieces into my loofah. The tub packaging is not shower friendly!
Sounds like there is a reason that base coat has been discontinued, yikes.
