I’ve been doing a similar style post for a couple of years now called “Products I’m Trying To Use Up” it becomes a bit too all encompassing – the things I love, the things I dislike but I’m still determined to finish up. I’ve decided that I wanted to switch it up and have a shorter more curated list of products that I’m endeavouring to see finished.
Now I’m going to be working from home, I’m less likely to be wearing makeup everyday and finishing items up is going to happen at a slower rate than it was before. I do still envisage makeup being part of my routine, and if anything I’ll probably have more time to come and play with eyeshadows in my lunch break and I hope I’ll start to get through the massive backlog of palette reviews I’ve got to come. So here are the Six products I love, but I want to finish up.
Colourpop Luminere Lippie Stix
Estimated : 3/4 Left
This is one of Colourpop’s iconic colours from their first round of collaborations with Kathleen Lights and one which I had in my very first order with them, it’s a neutral pink with the slightest berry toned hint – that makes it a very me shade. Up until the past few months I haven’t used it all that much but it’s recently become a staple in my handbag. It’s not normally the first lip product that goes on during the day (as it’s in my handbag!) but it does get put on when I reapply as it either matches the makeup and clothes I tend to be wearing, or it’s a very close match to what I was already wearing.
The formula is comfortable and it has a nice satin finish, so I want to try and use it up as I don’t want to see it go to waste. When I’ve twisted the whole thing up I can see that I’ve used up around about a quarter when I compare it to a newer Lippie Stix that I’ve only used once or twice.
Urban Decay Shapeshifter Contour Palette [Gifted]
Estimated : Half Left
I’ve been working really hard on this since I finished off a couple of other powder contour palettes which took me over a year each – and this is a product which I’ve always liked but I was so determined to get the others finished this slipped to the back of my drawer. Firstly this is a great palette for travel, it has a bronzer, contour, matte highlight (now finished) and highlight one side is powder and one side is cream.
So far I’ve been focussing on the powder side, I’m not much into cream contours and when I do I tend to use easier to swipe on sticks, although once I have finished the powder side on this I am going to give the cream side a more in-depth try before I decide whether to toss the whole thing or continue to try and finish it. I think by the end of the year I will have hit pan on every shade within this palette – I’ve hit pan on the powder highlight in the past week, and I can tell the contour powder is maybe getting low! The powder bronzer may be more difficult to finish, as I only tend to use them in summer and I’m less likely in Autumn to reach for this, but if I can see it’s getting close I’ll likely stick with it to see it finished.
WetnWild Megaglow Highlighter in Precious Petals
Estimated : 2/3 Left
Last year I did five mini reviews of WetnWild products when they first launched into the UK, I’ve finished up the foundation and the eye primer so far, and this has been one of my regular go-tos, since I finished up my Becca Royal Glow earlier in the year. I’ve hit pan on the corner of this already, the packaging lid has detached itself but I’m determined to get it to it’s end. I tend to be very good when it comes to highlighters on only using one at a time, but because I am also trying to finish up the highlighter from the Urban Decay Palette above, it’s not getting love every time I do my makeup – but I try and make sure I’m using it a couple of times a week. It’s more intense than the highlighter in the Urban Decay palette and it has a less icy tone which I think suits me better.
REN Glycol Lactic Face Mask [Gifted]
Estimated: Half Full
I love this mask but I have been warned by friends that it does have a shelf life, I have definitely had it open longer than the recommended date on the back of this – so I want to get a shifty on and finish it up. My skin loves Glycolic and Lactic acid’s and this one is therefore a pretty dreamy combination. I’m hoping now I am a more home based worker this will mean I get to finish up more face masks from my collection since I’ll be able to slap them on my face more easily!
Pixi Glow Tonic [Gifted]
Estimated : Full-ish (Technically!)
I was gifted this very large bottle of Glow Tonic last Christmas and whilst it looks like it hasn’t been used, I’ve been topping it up with one of the regular sized bottles – I have their Retinol, Rose, Vitamin C and Milky Tonics but whilst I like some of those other formulas a lot, if not more than Glow Tonic – it’s easy to use pump top I find myself rarely using them (unless Ive been dedicated to trying them for review) in comparison to the OG-Glow. I will never get rid of the personalised bottle, but I would like to be able to put it into my cupboard empty until I’m ready to top it up again in future. I’ve probably got enough Pixi Toners to keep me going for about 3 years straight at the moment!
Stila Magnificent Metals in Rose Gold Retro
Estimated : 4-5 Uses Left
The Magnificent Metals were rarely off my eyelids in the first year that they launched and they were boldly called one of my favourite makeup products of all time. They still definitely are, but over the past year I have found that I’ve been trying so many eyeshadows that I haven’t been reaching for these that much. Rose Gold Retro was my very first shade and it’s very nearly finished, I could quite easily declare this an empty now, but I’d like to get as close as I can to using every last smidge. It has dried out, but I’ve found that if I use a bit of setting spray it revives it.
Honorable Mention

Kiehls Cranberry and Turmeric Face Mask
Estimated : 1/10th Left
When I first started drafting the idea for this post at the start of August, this was one of the products that I had earmarked – however I’ve used it a fair few times this month and whilst I suspect I’ve still got 3 uses left I’ve maybe got about a tenth of the pot remaining! This has long been one of my favourite masks in my collection – a little goes a long way and when you have as many masks in your cupboard as I do, it takes a long while to get them finished, even when they’re favourites. I’ve been working on this one for a while and have tried to keep it more handy than my others, either on my dressing table or next to the sink in my ensuite and I’ve made some good progress. I seem to go through using this a couple of times a week to forgetting about it for months.
This is a brightening mask, that contains soft seeds from cranberry which gently exfoliate and it has a drying clay like texture which is great for oily skin that draws sebum out. It’s a great all rounder for my skin type, but this pot is a couple of years old now and I’d like to see it finished off so it doesn’t go to waste.
Have you tried any of these products before? What are you trying to use up? Let me know in the comments!

That Wet n Wild highlighter is stunning – you’ll have it finished in no time! Great work on the Stila Magnificent Metal too!

I can see the pan getting a little smaller every week! I hope I can have managed it by Christmas!
