I thought we’d do a little progress review of my 2021 Project Pan and see how I’ve been getting on after two months. I’ve used a lot of these products exclusively since beginning this project – there’s been some great progress, and there’s also a few items which are still falling to the back of the pile.
Makeup Geek Heart Throb Blush
Goal: Finish / Start Weigh In: 35.0g / 2 Month Progress : 34.4g
Looking at the pans side by side of beginning to now, I can barely see any progress between the two – although I have been trying to finish this blush for almost 2 years at this point, so it’s hardly surprising that there’s been a lack of visible progress. I’m pleased to see that number decreasing a little – but I think this one will take me most of the way through the year! I’d say I use blush about 50% of the time when I do my makeup at the moment, I kind of fall in and out of love of wearing blush and I’m more using this knowing it’s in my project pan project rather than being in a blush loving mode right now.

RMCA No Colour Powder
Goal: Finish / Start Weigh In: 96.2g / 2 Month Progress : 88.1g
I have used this bloody loads and visually again – very little progress to look at which surprises me as I feel like it’s quite messy and that a lot must waft in the air too! I’m thinking given the state of progress in 2 months it’s been an ambitious target to expect to finish it this year (damn, pushes back my want to try the Laura Mercier powder further back!) but I do enjoy this product and will continue to use it up for as long as needed.
Smashbox Studio Skin Full Coverage Foundation
Goal: Use 10g of Product / Start Weigh In: ? 37.7g/ 2 Month Progress : 37.6g
I’ve realised I made a mistake and not written down the weight of this at the beginning – however I’m not sure that I’ve used it at all yet – I knew I wasn’t going to be making much progress on this until I spring summer as it’s a bit on the dark side for me at the moment! I think I have used it once maximum – so let’s call the weigh in at the start o.1g more than it is now!
Stila Magnificent Metals Kitten Karma Minis x 2
Goal: Finish both / Start Weigh In: 32.1g /2 Month Progress 31.7g
I haven’t used these massively – maybe 6 times maximum since January and I’m not surprised to see that the weight is basically no different as I have rehydrated them with setting spray so I’m adding more weight back in! But I can see the barrel getting scraped around the edge. I think if I concentrated on one at a time – there’s likely 10 uses left in each.

Topshop Lip Crayon in Feather
Goal: Finish / Start Weigh In: 6.9g /2 Month Progress : 6.7g
This is a product that keeps getting lost in my project pan drawer and I’m forgetting to use it. I have used it a fair bit, but not as often as I should of as it’s a fairly basic neutral and I expect this one may be a quicker finish. I think I will manage to finish this by the end of the year, it might just be a longer slog! There’s not been much progress weight wise on this but I don’t think it’s had a sharpen yet, so I suspect that’s where we’ll see some weight drop!

Topshop Makeup Fixing Mist
Goal: Finish / Start Weigh In: 79.0g /2 Month Progress : 52.3g
I’ve got back into the routine of using settings sprays again, although I keep finding I reach for a different one on my vanity (I think the bottle design on that one just drawers my eye more, where as this one is getting lost at the back!). I have used it a good chunk still though, although the progress has helped from a little leak giving some unfair progress!

Tom Ford Velvet Orchid Perfume
Goal: Finish / Start Weigh In: 164.5g / 2 Month Progress: 158.8g
I took this out of my perfumes and put it in my project pan drawer and I found I wasn’t reaching for it very often, so I’ve moved this back into my perfume collection and put it near the front and finding I’m picking it up far more often again. I do like this more than my brain thinks when I look at it, but I think once I’ve finished it I won’t be miss it very much once finished off – unlike Black Orchid from Tom Ford which I will repurchase the second I realise I’m on the last dregs!

Pixi Vitamin C Caviar Balm
Goal: Finish / Start Weigh In: 38.7g / 2 Month Progress: 37.7g
This one is getting lost in my Project Pan drawer too – I can’t recall using it at all, I maybe need to move this to my bedside table to pick it up in the evening when I put on my evening skincare. I think I’m also enjoying the staple products in my collection a lot at the moment and they seem to be working really well so I’m more reluctant to add something else in too!

Freeman’s Apple Cider Vinegar Clay Face Mask
Goal: Finish / Start Weigh In: 181.5g / 2 Month Progress : 176.4g
To be honest, whilst this is on my ensuite skincare as a priority product to use, it keeps getting overlooked in favour of the Elemis Superberry Mask – I think because the tube is smaller – mentally I’m like that’s easier to finish first! I actually prefer this one out of the two – so I should be reaching for this more! I will see more progress on this through the year I’m sure.
OZ Naturals Ancient Orient Rice Enzyme Dermafoliant
Goal: Finish / Start Weigh In: 69.8g / 2 Month Progress : 65.0g
Another ensuite sink placement that’s not being used often. If this was a product I could keep in the shower – I’d be more likely to use it as that’s where I tend to want to use a scrub! Another one I think will be slow going progress product through the year!

Jeffree Star Lip Scrub in Mojito
Goal: Finish / Start Weigh In: 52.5g / 2 Month Progress : 51.0g
I’ve used this a good few times, particularly in January and early Feb as my lips were rebelling to the cold winter bite we were having fairly aggressively. I suspect I should be able to finish this – I feel like I am creeping towards the bottom of this.

Target Hit
Colourpop California Love Palette
Goal: Use 2g of Product / Start Weigh In: 122.0g /2 Month Progress : 118.8g
I’ve used this a tonne and feel like I’ve made good progress – I’ve used the transition colour and deep brown a lot and hit pan on the transition colour (including when I’m trying to use my Kitten Karma Magnificent Metals ones up!). The Supershock shadow on the top left has had a lot of use and I feel like I’m creeping close to pan on that too, and I can see more progress on the champagne colour on the bottom row too. I do really like this palette and I’m enjoying using it – but I’m finding I’m pushing back finishing reviews off because I’ve been so keen to mark progress on this as complete – and I’m glad to have already hit the target on this. I thought I was going to be ready to declutter this once done – but I think I’d like to continue using it until I’ve used up that Supershock shadow on the top left. I’m technically done and really happy with my progress on this – but I’m going to keep it in my collection a little longer and keep you up to date when I decide it’s time for it to go. I plan to replace this when I’m done with the Natasha Denona Bronze Palette

Tarte Highlight in Sparkler
Goal: Hit Pan/ Start Weigh In: 46.0g / 2 Month Progress : 43.3g
Given this was virtually brand new when I started it, I was surprised as you may be to see how much progress I’ve made. For the past few years I’ve been using fan brushes and doing a more concentrated highlight on my cheekbones, but I’m preferring something fluffier for a softer glow – meaning I think I am using more up at once. I am enjoying this but I don’t think I’ll be craving it back once it’s finished up. My goal on this was to hit pan as I didn’t expect to be able to finish this. But I’m going to keep this in now until completed and then cycle a new one in.

Colourpop Glitterati Supershock Shadow
Goal: Finish / Start Weigh In: 12g
I thought on the back of a successful target hit of the palette, I’d try my hand at a Supershock Shadow too. this one already has good progress on it and one I liked a lot when I first got it but have used it a lot less recently. The texture of this has always been a bit on the dry side and I’d like to use it up before Supershock Shadows turn to their crumbly stage – also it might get me into using the other ones in my collection which have been forgotten!

Well done on the eyeshadow palette and highlighter in particular! I’ve finished a couple of my items and not far away from a few others 🙂 as I’m not blogging about my Project Pan, I’ll probably just do Instagram updates and share what I’m swapping in at the same time x
