Since around Christmas my skin has changed, I’ve noticed bumps all down my jaw line and temples which I have never suffered with to the extent that I had them, and I had big pores on my cheeks and blackheads on my chin. I believe that was all from using a new cleanser from Organic Surge that I’d picked up for a 50p at a staff sale at work – so I decided to switch it up to the Elemis Sensitive Cleansing Wash.
When I received an Elemis skincare set from my boyfriend’s sister for my birthday, I was a very happy recipient to have a cleanser to replace my organic surge which had me unimpressed. I’m a firm believer in swapping up your makeup and skincare regularly, but the organic surge wasn’t my cup of tea from the get go.
This isn’t a true first impressions in the sense that I haven’t just used this once, but I’ve been using this for about a week – 10 days exclusively of any other cleanser and have noticed a difference in my skin.
The Elemis Sensitive Cleansing Wash is, whilst this does say sensitive, it does contain perfume – so watch out if your skin is usually irritated by fragrance. Essential oils from Thyme, Camomile and Lady’s Mantle which are known for soothing and anti-bacterial properties (yep had to look that up). Whilst a gel like consistency when you pump out, this bubbles up slightly, but not so much that it gets into your eyes.
This does a fabulous job of removing makeup and leaving my skin feeling hydrated, I find some face washes will leave my skin feeling dry, this one certainly doesn’t. The bumps on my face haven’t disappeared totally, but most of them have now vanished. Blackheads on my chin are better than they have been in years, I can normally feel them if I can’t see them, and I can’t. The pores on my face have reduced.
The Elemis Sensitive Cleansing Wash retails at around £18.50 and whilst pricey, one pump of this at a time is enough to cover your whole face, and just the right amount is dispensed for me, so there’s nothing to waste. Whilst the bottle looks half empty in my picture, I chose to lay it down, and standing up it’s barely left the top, at the current rate of use I estimate this would last me at least 3 months. I can’t say that I’ll be repurchasing yet, as there’s still a lot of time for my opinion to potentially change, or my skin changes, but so far – I’m very impressed with this.
