When I saw free samples online for the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara of course I jumped on it straight away. I love Urban Decay as much as the next beauty addict, but as with all more pricey lines I like to see what I’m buying before I buy it and living in probably one of the worst beauty stocked cities in the UK means there is no UD counter near me to check out their line.
Promising to give “Bigger. Blacker. Badder Lashes” oozing with sex appeal, high voltage drama with a formulation designed to build, separate, define and add volume, this sounded like the perfect mascara for me and I had high hopes for it to be a new favourite.
Even with long lashes I find that the brush is quite chunky and I find it quite difficult to use, I can imagine those with shorter lashes might struggle a lot with this brush – it’s a traditional bristle hair brush densely packed with hairs. It lengthens and separates, but I don’t find that it adds a lot of volume – which is disappointing for me as I already have long lashes it’s the volume I really like, and find that they lean on the edge of looking a bit spidery.
With a second coat things don’t really improve and I find it starts to clump a little at the ends and it takes quite a long time to get my lashes looking good. Good points are that the lashes almost feel like I’m not wearing anything at all, they don’t feel crusty or flaky. Through the day this lasts really well on my lashes, but it does tend to transfer under my eyes and leave a bit of a panda eye.

As I have two miniatures of these I’ll be keeping my handbag for on the go emergencies – but I won’t use this day to day for now on. The results are just “okay” for me – but I don’t want to spend £17.50 on something that’s just okay when there are products at a similar price such as Too Faced Better than Sex which make my lashes look incredible.
Have you tried the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara? What did you think?
