Ooh, there’s been a few products within this empties I’ve been dying to finish up and it gave me such glee when I tossed them into my basket in by bathroom cupboard awaiting this post before I could finally throw them away for good! We’ll jump right into keep this Empties short and sweet!
Skincare
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water 700ml
This was such a monster bottle to finish, I was so glad when it was done. Whilst this bottle offers great value if you can catch it on offer for about a fiver, I wouldn’t buy it again as it just takes up way too much space in my drawer. I’ll stick to the 500ml bottles. But, a firm favourite, always.
Repurchase? YAAAAAAAAAAAS
Beauty Pie Japan Fusion Cleanser (Review)
This was my favourite from my recent order of three cleansers from Beauty Pie which I put to the test. Thank you if you’re someone who has used my code, I’ve built up quite the bunch of credit to spend on there so may do another similar roundup of trialling products from the same range or type. This was sucha a lovely feeling cleanser on the skin – soft and silky. Pay attention to the insturctions so you don’t use it wrong like I did for the first few times (doh!)
Repurchase? Yes yes yes yes yes. Once I’m through that giant stash.
My Little Beauty Brume Energiseur
This was more of a skincare mist that I used pre makeup, or straight after application rather than a setting mist as it made the face very wet. This was okay to use, but I can’t say that I really noticed any skincare benefits, which compared to other spray toners I’ve tried was a little bit of a disappointment. But alas, My Little Beauty is no more in the Uk, so it’s not worth commenting another word on!
Repurchase? Can’t but wouldn’t
Nails
Boots Nail Polish Remover Extra Strength
This is a good nail varnish remover and I like the fact it comes with a pump top lid as I find that I am way less prone to accidentally spilling any, or overusing product as it gives a good spread on a cotton pad.
Repurchase? Yes, although I can also refill this bottle – but I do like the extra strength formula!
General Consumable
Superdrug My Little Star Baby Shampoo
This I bought just before Christmas to clean my makeup brushes and sponges, and it did a decent job at lasting, however I just found it wasn’t always cleaning brushes which had bright pigment on very well. I prefer solid soaps, but have been opting for shampoos as they’re a little cheaper. But this one wasn’t worth another try, I’ve bought the Johnsons one to see if that works any better!
Repurchase? No, but I’ve tried a different baby shampoo this time!
Body Care
Korres Lavender Blossoms Shower Gel
As most of you are aware, I’m allergic to Lavender, so I passed this onto my Mum when it arrived in a Beauty box, she wrote up a review for you – what a babe.
“Not a normal Rachael review as this one is done by me, her Mum.
I really like this one from the Body Shop line, it’s nice and zingy (as Mum would say!) but doesn’t have the sourness that some grapefruit scents can have.
Repurchase? Maybe, I do like the Body Shop formula, it’s not my favourite but I would enjoy using it again if I had it!
Haircare
Batiste Dry Shampoo / Gifted as part of a Beauty Box as a bonus item
This came in very handy for my sisters Hen party the weekend before last. I’m not normally the biggest fan of Batiste, but I found that this seemed to brush out way easier than Batiste normally seems to in my hair. Still, not my favourite formula – there are others I prefer the feeling of in my hair, but I’ll be less grumbly about it’s appearance in my drawer if we cross paths again in future.
Repurchase? Repurchase – no, use again if it was gifted – yes.

Urban Decay Velvetizer Powder (Review)
I shall not go too deep with this since it was only recently reviewed, and you can look back at that for a more indepth review. Just look how small this powder actually is once it’s deconstructed though – the plastic cup in the middle which I managed to prize out of the big acrylic pot is tiny in comparison to it’s outer packaging, and left me seriously questioning the amount of product I’d spent £24 on!
Repurchase? No!
100% Pure Lip Glaze in Velveteen (Review)
Wowza, that’s an old review – 2015! I think I put this on a use up list last year and it’s taken me almost a whole year to finish it off. There was a little nub left I was working on last week, but it broke off and due to how soft the formula was it was too messy to attempt to smush back together and finish. It was 95% complete though, so I take great pride in that! This is a lovely glossy, balmy, comfortable formula which still has great pigmentation. I’d consider getting one of these again if I didn’t have such a giant lipstick collection. These aren’t the cheapest, but I actually do really like them and would happily spend that again if I was so inclined to get another, but I do have other things which are similar!
Repurchase? No, but I would recommend if you like balmy lipsticks!
And that’s it. Another ten bite the dust. I didn’t have any extras this time around (I had such a good run of those in the last empties though!). My empties spreadsheet can be found here for 2019 to track my progress or grab the template so you can also track your use ups! Should you want to check out the rest of my Ten Empties series, you can do here. I have finished close to £400 worth of things up so far this year – a definite way behind where I was last year – but I think I’m close on some ~expensive~ items being finished like perfumes which will pump that number straight up. Still, it’s not a displeasing number to see that it’s been money that’s been well spent.
Have you tried any of these before? Have you finished anything up recently, please let me know in the comments below!

The review from your mum is sweet, glad to see she liked the shower gel! I think I’ll have my second empties post of 2019 up next week, meaning I’ve finished 20 products this year, that’s good for me! The low buy is working haha xx

Yes it did make me smile when she emailed me over her comments! Ooh well done, yes it does show how easily it can be to finish products when you’re really focusing on not buying new!
The Batiste dry shampoo is always a winner

Bless your mum! I really need to start doing empties like this, it’s getting such a chore to write them monthly

That’s exactly why I started doing them every 10 – a more manageable chunk to manage at a time! I’d let the pile get bigger and bigger when I didn’t have time to deal with it and the job became even worse!
I want to try that beauty pie cleanser!!

Effortlessly Sophisticated
I am using the exact same size for the Garnier Micellar Water – definitely a very hefty product! I feel like I’ve been using it everyday yet I’ve only just managed to use the up the neck of the bottle if you know what I mean.
Nice products.
Thats so cute that your mother wrote you a review for your blog! Adorable!
The pink grapefruit scent is my favourite one the body shop does! I love that brand a lot & I enjoy their products. However, their are better formulas for the price so I don’t purchase them all that often xx

We have an outlet near us and we can often pick up products for 40% off on top of already discount products! But I agree, sometimes it can be expensive 🙂
I love the review from your mum. It was the sweetest thing ever. I need to start actually using more products up myself.

I know loved that she did that! I love doing rolling project pans to finish things up and having one of everything as my victim for completion
That is a good way of doing it!
