Well hello, I’ve been a little MIA haven’t I? March was such a busy month for us and I’ve just had to admit that I couldn’t juggle blogging with everything else that has been going on – so I thought I’d ease myself back in to blogging with a nice and easy round up of the bits that I’ve bought over the past few weeks. My low buy has been continuing pretty well this year – but I did pick up a fair few treats during March (there’s some extras to arrive!).
Collection HD Blur Setting Powder
My Urban Decay Velvetizer powder was beginning to run low (it’s now empty) and I realised I needed to pick up another setting powder – pronto. I decided to go for this as it was a decent price, but boy – this powder is crap! It’s sparkly, and also manages to make my skin look dry at the same time! I’ve already moved onto another powder, I’m not sure how I’m going to finish this one up – it’s bloody awful, the worst I’ve ever tried. I’m oily, definitely avoid if you’re dry.
Kiko Items
I went shopping in Leeds with my friend Laura and we stopped into Kiko. They had buy two get two free on their sale items, so I managed to snag all four of these things for just £7. I opted for a loose powder in a peach shade (knowing that my other powder was crap) and this one has been better. I picked up two liquid shadows which I thought would be good options every now and again for using as a base, or a quick sweep of colour over the lid when I’m strapped for time – one is gold and one is a pink shade, I’ve used them a few times and they’ve been absolutely fine for the price. Lastly a colour correcting primer base, this looks really dark (so much so, someone thought it was a liquid lip on my stories!), but I find blending out it does a good job of cancelling out any colour on the lid and laying a good colour foundation for my eyeshadow.
Colourpop X Zoella Brunch Eyeshadow Palette
I must admit I grumbled a little when I saw the colour selections in this palette. But once I saw a few swatches I wanted to grab it. The whole neutral with a pop of blue palette has been done to death, but it’s not a palette I actually own. I loved that there were complimenting tones in this rather than being all neutrals, and I liked how slimline it was for travel. Oh, and the packaging is absolutely bloody adorable. I can’t wait to put this to the test properly!
Colourpop X Kathleen Lights The Scales Pigment
I found it hard to narrow down just which pigment I wanted from this collection – I was tempted by them all! They all looked so pretty after watching Kathleen’s collection. I’m not the biggest pigment wearer, so had to limit myself to just one. The one which won was The Scales, I thought this was super pretty and wearable whilst still being a bit unusual as it has micro flecks of blue and gold hidden beneath the pink base. But I also thought it would really compliment the colours in the Zoella palette too and would make a nice duo.
Colourpop X Zoella Lip Bundle in My Day Ones
I bought this as the swatches online really reminded me of my OG Mac Brave lipstick – and whilst the colour is a really lovely neutral – it’s sadly not the same swatched against the last dregs I’m saving to compare for a replacement. I’ll definitely get a lot of wear from this, but the search continues for another dupe of Brave….
Colourpop Mini Liquid Satin Lips in Schnookums
I didn’t technically buy this but it arrived in my order as an “I’m Sorry I’m Late” gift and there couldn’t have been a better colour picked for me. I love their little minis, I have a few and love them for packing in clutch bags!
Shills Face Mask
This is a face mask I’ve had before and is the most effective black head removing mask I’ve ever tried. I saw these in Poundland the other week and I had to grab another tube. Ben really enjoys this mask too, so he was happy to see it back at his disposal.
Illamasqua Hydra Veil and Highlight Set
The only item from TK Maxx for the month has been this, I haven’t had time to be nipping in so regularly. I picked this set up for £19.99 which was a bargain, as the two items inside cost £34 each as full sizes – what a whopping saving! The Hydra Veil Primer I’ve wanted to try since it launched – my Stila One Step primer is almost empty and I other than glowing primers (which I don’t use every day), I’ve completely finished off my stash – so it was fantastic timing! The Highlighter is in the shade Deity – which I do already own, I’m going to try and sell this as brand new and untouched, but if not it will make a nice little giveaway treat.
Just Jack Orchid Noir
I realised recently I hadn’t done a review of my favourite ever perfume – Tom Ford Black Orchid. At that moment in a beauty podcast facebook group I’m in someone mentioned an Irish brand of dupe perfumes who have a lot of Jo Malone copies and said how good they were. I took a little browse, and before I knew it I’d spotted a copy of something that smelt an awful lot like Tom Ford Black Orchid. I’m going to save this for a comparison review – but these are a steal – if you like Jo Malone or Tom Ford – they have a lot of dupes of those and are priced at £15-£20 for 100ml!
I have a second colourpop order on it’s way after a group order a few weeks ago, I was suckered in by a 20% off sitewide and spotted some palettes that I had my eye on in the sale and I couldn’t help myself, so there could well be a full colourpop haul coming in another week or so #SorryNotSorry!
I’m hoping April I’ll be able to keep up with uploading and reading content more.
Let me know if you’ve tried any of these in the comments below!

Thanks gurrrrl x
The Colourpop mini lip colour you got looks nice! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the Zoeva palette, I’m still kinda trialling the palette and compiling my thoguhts for my very first Colourpop haul post which will be up sometime in April. I tried to use the blue as a crease shade but I think I used the wrong brush so I had to cover it up with one of the darker browns haha x

Ooh yay I look forward to reading it! I’ve still not even got around to swatching it yet – I only photographed it on Sunday, I normally dip in straight away but I was rushing to get other photos prepped! I’m not sure how to use the blue shade yet – I’ll definitely do a look using it under the lash though I think!
Iām not entirely sure how to use it either lol, could look good under the lashes like you say x
I really love the look of the Brunch palette but I get it’s been done a few times! I tend to just stick to neutral colours though so it’s right up my street šš

I don’t have many fully neutral palettes especially in this kind of size, most are a lot bigger so this was actually a nice change for me to add to my collection!
These all look like such great products!!

Lovely post!! I really like that Zoella palette, I never intended to actually get it, I got it by accident but now I actually love it and use it a lot!!

I’ve yet to even swatch it yet! I’m just finishing reviewing another palette and want to try a few more looks with it this week but it’s the next one I’m cracking open to try!
Looks like you got some great bits – I also got the brunch date palette. The shades are super wearable! & I also picked up the scales pigment! I got the maiden too. Xxx

I was very tempted by Maiden too that was in the run in for the shortlist! xx
