When I saw this box was going to be created in collaboration with Fleur de force, I was very excited, Fleur is hands down my favourite youtuber, I’ve been subscribed to her since my second year at Uni (2009/2010! – can remember binge watching her videos in my bedroom when I discovered her channel!). I like her style and feel that she targets herself for her age group rather than a younger audience, if you don’t already follow her blog and youtube channel make sure you check them out! So I already had an inkling that I was going to be pleased with everyone in my box.
This month we see a little box, marked as a present for you… Which contained a knitted grey headband with subtle gold thread running through. This is very nice quality, not itchy at all but this kind of thing I just feel doesn’t suit me. But I’m sure I can pass it on as part of a Christmas gift, as I know lots of people who would love and look great in this.
The next set of extras were a selection of items to wrap presents with, masking tape strips and dots in pretty pastel and monochrome patterns, very nice quality gift tags and black and white twine.
The print this month is cute, but I’m not sure if I will actually use it, it’s not really Christmassy looking to put up in my house especially for this time if year, and the quote obviously means I can’t put it up for the rest of the year.
So now the beauty products, held in a bag saying ‘Do All Things With Love’.
Cowshed Wild Cow Body Lotion
A full sized product, I kind of grumbled when I saw this as I have so so many body creams stocked up from other beauty boxes. Upon smelling this I was immediately converted, a much more wintery scent, notably gingery, and lemongrass and rosemary, it’s a very warm cosy scent.
L’occitane Precious Cream
A beautifully packaged cult favourite, that I’ve never had the pleasure of trying before. I’ve liked everything I’ve tried from L’occitane in the past, so I’m looking forward to trying this, claiming to be triple action for protected, smoother and softer skin. Not a full sized product but a decent sized quality sample. I’ve used this once, so can’t really comment on it yet, but it’s a thick cream so a little goes a long way, a tiny dip from one finger was enough for my whole face.
My Little Beauty Lipstick – Rouge a Levres
This looks like one of those colours that could potentially be scary to a lot of people. Looking like an uber bright coral pink, I put this on straight away to find it was much sheerer than it appeared in the package, it is however buildable creating a slightly brighter shade with 2 layers. The colour is beautiful, and I have nothing like it in my collection, my boyfriend commented how nice my lipstick was without being prompted. The formula is very moisturising and is already my new favourite after 2 days.
My only comment would be that for the quoted £15 this retails at I would expect a more sturdy packaging than cardboard, I’m worried about how quickly this will get battered in my handbag!
I can’t see a shade name on this, but from what I can tell the packaging for each in the range is patterned differently, and I hope we’re going to see more of these in future my little boxes.
I’m not someone who really reads the magazines that come with beauty boxes, but a flick through this one does seem like theres some “good stuff” in there this month, and I’m about to sit down with a cuppa and read through.
In terms of the beauty products, these have been my favourites to date! Still firmly my favourite subscription box, my only comment again same as Glossybox’s December edition, that it could have been more festive, that being said all the products are appropriate for the time of year and I’ll get a lot of use from all of them, I’m not really disappointed, just a glutton for Christmas.
