Meet M&S’ Skincare Heroes

Meet M&S’ Skincare Heroes

Almost two weeks ago I had a gorgeous delivery from the team over at Marks and Spencer’s featuring their essential heroes from skincare, picking out the stars of the show from both their home brand lines as well as showcasing their top picks from the wide range of brands they also stock. It goes without saying that all these products being the best of the crop are all very well reviewed online.

I’m not going to spend too much time on an introduction as I was very lucky with this delivery, there’s a lot to get through and impossible for me to test out all at once, so I’ll jump straight in, it’s time to meet…

The Best Skincare at M&S

Formula Absolute Ultimate Sleep Cream
This has been a firm favourite of mine since I first tried it a few months ago, from M&S’ own premium line of skincare and has already had a full review here. This is such a good night cream for me and it’s rare I try nighttime skincare which I don’t find cakey or heavy feeling on my oilier complexion. I’m very glad to have another back up in waiting for when I finish my second pot. If you’re in the market for a new nighttime moisturiser this has been tried and tested by me!

Formula Absolute Ultimate Elixir
I’ve already tried the accompanying eye cream from this range but I haven’t yet got around to trying this elixir. This is an anti-ageing moisturising serum, this is going to be heading straight towards my bedside table to be put to the test.

Ultrasun Face SPF 30
I’ve been a pretty loyal lover of the Body Shop Skin Defence SPF for the past few years but I’ve been starting to do some more research and the chemicals in that one aren’t particular well rated, whilst I’ve never had an issue, I’ve been thinking of trying something new and this one sounds perfect!

REN Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream
I’ve never tried much from REN and most of what I’ve had has been sample sizes through beauty boxes. I have a couple of items waiting in the wings to try from them and this one sounds great. It’s rare that a moisturiser will excite me, but also contains pollution protection ingredients, sooth discomfort and redness and protect against premature ageing. The Skin Defence from the Body Shop has similar additional protection so if I swap out the SPF to the Ultra Sun I’ll put this to the test at the same time.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Hair, Body and Face Oil
This is a product that I’ve had several samples of in the past but this is a new revamped formula. I already prefer this to the samples I have purely because it comes with a pump. It feels lighter than the old formula. This is an excellent product for travel as it can be used on the body, face and in the hair too, and also smells lovely too, it’s got a soft yet sweet spice to it.

L’Occitane Intensive Hand Balm
Ooh this is such a treat! A few years ago I could always go to somewhere where L’Occitane could be picked up at a discount and I used to love their hand creams. I don’t think I’ve tried this one before (or if I have I’ve never noticed it was called a hand balm!). I’m back into the routine of using hand creams now after taking them to work and keeping them on my desk and I’m sure this one will be better than the oddments I’ve been trying to finish up from my skincare cupboard.

Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask
I love masks which I can use overnight, anything that’s going to really soak into my skin and absorb. I’ve been enjoying the handful of Origins Masks that I’ve tried and have been in the market for a new over night mask as the one I’ve been attempting to finish seems to have stopped being as effective, I’ve had a few friends – knowing I have a penchant for face masks – who have recommended me this in the past. It’s been on my list of notes on my phone of things to buy-and-try for quite some time so I was really happy to see that M&S deemed it to be one of their best!

thisWorks Deep Sleep Pillow Spray
This is a favourite for many, but unfortunately it’s one which I can’t use as it’s a lavender based pillow spray and would keep me sneezing through the night!  I’ve had a few samples of this in the past which I’ve given to Ben and if he uses with caution and sparingly he finds it really useful and calming for getting himself to sleep. I’ve dangled this bigger bottle in front of him and said he can have it if he’s nice to me!

Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels
This is a four pack of pairs of gel eye contours. I’ve tried a handful of these in the past and have never really loved the texture of them and have had a mixed opinion as to whether these work or not. These are described as being cooling, depuffing and soothing.

Pixi Glow Tonic
Pixi Glow Tonic has to be one of the ultimate skincare icons in the blogging world. I’ve had a few small samples of this in a past and tried a bottle of their small travel sized toner. The times I’ve tried it in the past I’ve never seen noticeable results where as I have done with stronger glycolics. Maybe this product isn’t for me or maybe I needed to use it on a more long term basis to see results, but I’m willing to give it another try.

Filogra Time Filler Eyes
I hadn’t heard of this eye cream before it arrived but since it has I’ve seen it popping up on people’s ultimate skincare favourites and reviews for it all over the place. This has really good reviews online and I’m looking forward to cracking it out as my next eye cream, it has a botox like effect and I’m hoping it will make me look 18 again!

Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm
I’m so excited to have this! I’ve had a teeny sample pot of this in the past (and I mean teeny, I think it had one use in it!). The Moringa Cleansing Balm is a cult favourite in the british beauty community and has been on my list to invest in for some time. The balm also comes with a muslin cleansing cloth too, which is even better as mine are all at the stage where they are stained with stubborn mascara.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer
The only haircare item in the box was of course the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer – if you’ve been around my blog for a while you’ll know that despite the fact I try with every sample of this I get (I swear they must make more sample sizes than they do full sizes), I can never see what it’s doing for my hair. Appearance wise or touch wise this makes no difference to me sadly, I’ll probably add to my giveaway pile and hope it finds a more successful home elsewhere.

Stila One Step Correct Primer
Last and certainly not least is the colour correcting primer from Stila that I’ve wanted to try for so long and never got around to. This is such a a satisfying and mesmerising product to look at, with a helixed array of colour correctors suspended in a gel formula. I’m really looking forward to getting this one on my chops as my next primer to try.

This is obviously quite an overwhelming amount of new-ness at once, far bigger than any skincare spree I’ve single-handedly done! If there’s any products you are keen on seeing reviews on here please let me know in the comments where I should be starting!

Such a great mix of products here, some I’m familiar with and others are new to me. There’s no surprise that the Pixi Glow Tonic made this list, it really seems to be a cult favorite; I need to check it out myself. Thanks for sharing and have a great week, girl!
