I mentioned when I came back to blogging that I had a massive pile of empties piling up and I finally decided to tackle it, I’ve been writing them up over the past few weeks. I needed to photograph – there was over 50 products finished up over 6 months so I’ve split the posts up so they’ve been easier to digest. The first in these lockdown empties which will be coming to you this week is mostly about haircare and a couple of nail related empties at the end.
Haircare
Grow Gorgeous End Split Ends Serum
I picked this up in a Boots clearance sale where they were getting rid of this line from my local store and I paid something like £4/5 for it when it had a retail price of £23 – honestly I just picked it up as I was a sucker for a bargain. Firstly the dropper on this is not appropriate for the product, it’s too thick of a cream that doesn’t pick up, it would be better suited to a tube or a pump! I’ve remembered to use this most times I’ve washed my hair since Christmas time and considering my hair hasn’t been cut since the start of December it’s in really good condition – I don’t have a split end in sight and I don’t know whether it’s the lessening of heat styling or this – I guess we will see if my hair starts deteriorating, if it does I would happily pick it up at full price!
Repurchase? Maybe… we will see what happens with my hair!
IGK Charcoal Dry Shampoo 90ml [Review]
I reviewed this in detail last week – this is a dry shampoo I’d heard fantastic things about and it didn’t end up disappointing! It’s been great at adding volume and reducing grease appearance whilst not creating a powedery look to the root. It’s very rare I find a dry shampoo that’s good at being both voluminous and reducing the appearance of oiliness without it leaving a very obvious white cast on my dark roots.
Repurchase? Yes, I will in future.
Tigi Catwalk Honey and Oatmeal Shampoo & Conditioner
I absolutely love these and think they give great value for money. I find them really nourishing for my dry ends whilst not overloading my roots which tend to get greasy quickly. Pick them up at B&M Bargains for only £6.99, cheaper than you’ll find anywhere on the internet.
Repurchase? Yes, definitely – the last few times I’ve been to B&M there has been a massive queue and I’ve left though!
2 x Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner
I always go back to the Aussie Miracle Moist line, I love the shampoo and the 3 minute miracle which keeps my hair in lovely condition.
Repurchase? Yes!
Aussie SOS Kiss of Life Shampoo & Conditioner
I picked these up when we went away to Harrogate just before lockdown as I didn’t have anything in the house that was travel friendly to pack with me (those giant tigi bottles was all I had). As an aforementioned Aussie fan I decided to try out these which were new. They were okay, but no where near as impressive as the miracle moist ones. I didn’t find they were as nourishing or smoothing as my trusted favourites. Okay, but not the best. They do smell great though!
Repurchase? Maybe, but more likely to pick up the others.
Cien Gloss Shine Conditioner
I’m not really a Lidl shopper but I popped in recently in hunt of a rumored discounted exercise bike and came out with some bread rolls, a disinfectant spray and a couple of bottles of this conditioner. Ripping off on L’Oreals design, I was out of conditioner and had been going shampoo only for about a week. I have another one of these left – I found these pretty mediocre – but not terrible.
Repurchase? I’ll use the other up but unlikely to get them again.

OPI Start to Finish Top and Basecoat (Gifted)
I was sent this last year as part of an influenster box from OPI, this has been my top and base coat since. I really find it performs well as both a base and topcoat, in the past I’ve found similar products are better at doing one or another. This one seemed to be good at both though. The
Repurchase? Yes I would do, but I have a lot of topcoats to finish first.
Wilko Baby Cotton Wool Ovals
I now mainly use reusable cotton pads instead of these, but I don’t like the idea of using acetone ones and getting it mixed up with my eyes so the only ones I buy now are for nails. The wilko range is some of the best ones IMHO and the baby ones are super cheap.
Let me know in the comments below if you’ve tried any of these before and what your thoughts were.

Ooo, now I’m intrigued by OPI Start to Finish! I got a mini size of it thrown in with an order a while ago and wasn’t sure how I wanted to use it. I’ll try it out as both!

I loved Start to Finish so I only had to find one bottle and not two, will definitely repurchase it again in future once I’m through my backlog of topcoats!
