Glossybox October 2014

pop-art-glossybox-october-2014

Everyone else seems to have had their Glossybox for a week or more, mine only just arrived on Friday. So my opening is a little late this month. I already therefore knew what would be in the box having seen lots of blog posts on it!

The theme of this month was Pop Art, and to be honest, apart from one product, I don’t know what makes this box pop art inspired.

I know I’ve said this for the past few months, but due to Glossybox changing their points policy the last month, I couldn’t redeem a free box, as it left me 50 points short. So I chose to pay for it, this month being definitely, definitely my last box. They’ve pissed me off (excuse my french!) that they chose to change the points policy, especially as if you hadn’t reviewed something you had received months ago – your opinion is now worth less to them than it was now. I left reviewing my products from my September box until a week later, until I had used everything and made up my mind whether I liked them or not to formulate a real opinion on the products. So this was the last nail in the coffin for me.

I love this box in it’s design, I think it might be my favourite design that they’ve ever released!

Nuxe Masque Creme Fraiche

This was the reason I chose to pay for the box. I’ve used this once, and have yet to make up my mind as to whether I like it. I’ve seen mixed reviews from people loving it, to people thinking it’s just okay.

Ciate Nail Polish Paint Pot in Skinny Jeans

ciate-skinny-jeans

Annoyingly I have had this colour in a glossybox before, I think they should restrict putting the same colours in boxes, or keep a record as to who received what. Also the bow is missing off my bottle. Not impressed!

I have a bit of a love hate relationship with Ciate, some of their polishes I love, some of them are terrible. (Reviews here), It will be interesting for me to see whether the formulation has changed over time. As although I haven’t reviewed this shade yet, it is one of the ones I do actually like.

Etre Belle Liplift Peel

Much needed for this time of year, I’ve used this a couple of times, and I do like this so far. A little of this goes a long way and this tube will last a long time. Rather than being a peel I would say that it’s a lip scrub.

Rimmel BB Cream in Light

rimmel-bb-cream

I’ve never tried this before so will be interested to, I suspect it might be a little too light for me right now, as I’ve had to crack out the summer foundations again having just gotten back from 35 degrees a couple of weeks ago. But look forward to trying it in a couple of months, I’ve liked every Rimmel foundation that I’ve tried, so hopefully this will be another to add to the list.

So Susan Flutter Mascara

so-susan-mascara

I’ve hated every So Susan product bar one I’ve had from my glossyboxes, I’ve never heard or seen the brand outside of the Glossybox-sphere. So it’s safe to say I have low expectations. From a quick open the formulation seems weirdly thin and runny.

Yves Rocher Quelques Notes D’Amour Perfume

I’m a fan of sweet perfumes, but this one might even be a bit sweet for me. So there must be a note in here that doesn’t sit quite right with my nose. I’m sure I’ll use this up, and it is in a nice little bottle for a perfume sample.

……

I’m kind of a bit meh, about this box, I’m not particularly blown away by it.

Have you had your glossybox? Were you impressed with this months products or not?

I really liked this months Glossybox although when I tried the mascara out it was rubbish! But I hadn’t tried the brand before and in future I’ll avoid them 😊 x
