The Beauty Drop – Liberty Beauty Box October 2022

The Beauty Drop – Liberty Beauty Box October 2022

Welcome back to beauty reviews with me! During my time away from publishing I’ve enjoyed another delivery of the Liberty Beauty Box – The Beauty Drop and I was excited to get a notification that the October 2022 quarterly edit was on the way, which marks my third box delivery. I’m of course a little late posting this as it arrived close to a month ago now, but I still wanted to post my thoughts on this subscription box.

If this is your first time hearing about The Beauty Drop, this comes from luxury London based department store Liberty, you pay a £20 a month fee and receive a box quarterly. Where this box differs a little is that the box itself is free and that £20 credit builds up for you to spend on site as you like. I’ve really enjoyed this as a concept, so far I’ve bought an expensive perfume and shower gel from Byredo and it’s not felt like a splurge as I’ve been topping up my account monthly, whilst enjoying some extra goodies in between.

One thing I also like is that the sample sizes are decent, and in some cases full sizes – but they’re not arriving so frequently that I’m swimming in samples I can’t use up and because the majority of the box is deluxe sized, I’ve found these super handy to keep aside for travel as often, they tend to be perfect for a long weekend. The October 2022 box contained seven items to discover.

The Beauty Drop Moon Carnival Fragrance

Vilheim Parfumerie – Moon Carnival Fragrance2ml sample

The first thing I was attracted to was the bright yellow little box, I believe there was a sample from this brand in the very first box I received from Liberty, and enjoyed it. The name Moon Carnival left me intrigued – expecting a darker, night time fragrance with maybe a twist of something fun. The fragrance has warm amber notes at the base and with floral mid and top notes. It’s a very classic fragrance for me, evoking vibes of brands like Chanel and Dior’s iconic floral fragrances, not my every day go-to, but certainly one I’ll be happy to use.

The Beauty Drop Hot Mess Liner from Rockins

Rockins Cosmetics – Hot Mess Blue Glitter Pen – Full Size

I was really happy to see this brand in here as on my last browsing session on the Liberty website I spotted this brand for the first time. Rockin Cosmetics is an indie brand and based in London, so it had me intrigued to try something from the brand. This is a fat navy crayon with a slight silver glitter throughout it. My first swatches of this would be thinking to call this a glitter pen, I would be expecting a lot more glitter to qualify, so I wonder if I get further down with this I will see more glitter content. These on site come as a pack of 3 on site for £25.

The Beauty Drop Malin and Goetz Moisturizer

Malin + Goetz Advanced Renewal Moisturiser – 5ml Deluxe

There won’t be too much I can say on this little sample, Malin + Goetz is only a brand I try via beauty boxes and whilst it’s rare that I dislike something, I don’t think equally I’ve ever been wowed by something either. This will however come in handy as a basic moisturizer to keep in my stash for a night or two away for a future trip when wanting to pack light.

The Beauty Drop Noble Isle Summer Rising Shower Gel

Noble Isle Summer Rising Shower Gel – 30ml Deluxe Sample

I took these photos a little over a week ago now, and popped this straight into my shower so have given it a good try out over the past week. I have enjoyed using this but it is a very summery fragrance full of fresh florals. I think it would have been nice going into winter to have a different scent, but the quality of this is nice. A full size of this is a 250ml bottle, priced at £22.

The Beauty Drop LA Bruket Spruce Hand Cream

L:A Bruket Spruce Hand Cream – 30ml

LA Bruket is a reoccurring theme in this box, I think we’ve seen a product in every box so far. This time we have a wintery sounding hand cream, a nice contrast from the summery florals of the shower gel! Whilst this is nice to receive, I’d like to see some different brands now, three out of three boxes have now included an item from LA Bruket and there’s so many interesting brands to try on Liberty, I’d like to explore more! A full size of this is a 70ml tube, priced at £23.

The Beauty Drop The Votary Apple Toner

Votary Daily Apple Toner – 30ml

I was happy to see this in the box, travel sized toners are always handy to keep around and i’ve generally had a good experience of apple based products in the past. I have heard of the brand Votary but don’t know a lot about it and will delve into this when I go away next weekend. A full size of this toner is 100ml, priced at £35.

The Beauty Drop - The Suqqu Serum Primer

Suquu Treatment Serum Primer – 10g

I was excited to receive this as Suquu is a lovely high end brand and I’ve really enjoyed the lipstick I’ve received in previous box over summer. I think this may have been a new launch from the brand as when I first received this box a month ago I looked it up and found no info on it anywhere, including the brands website and it’s now there. This sounds like a skincare and primer hybrid which I find tends to work really well for my skin combining steps into one gives the nourishment I need without overloading. I am close to finishing the Ole Henriksen primer and I think this will be the next to be opened. A full size of this is £42 for 30ml.

I am pleased with this The Beauty Drop box from Liberty, but I am starting to notice the repeat of brands a little in only 3 boxes, which surprises me a little I am hoping that the next box that arrives will showcase a few more of Liberty’s brands – particularly in the fragrance and body care sections. I’d love to see Byredo, Oribe, Diptique, Augustinus Bader and Ortiga.
