Latest in Beauty – The Sunday Times Beauty Awards 2022

Latest in Beauty – The Sunday Times Beauty Awards 2022

It’s been a little while since I did a beauty box unboxing, and to be honest, it’s been a long while since once tempted me enough to buy. The Latest in Beauty box in collaboration with The Sunday Times Beauty Awards caught my eye, there were a few things in the box I specifically had wanted to try and it made it good value for money at £28.00.

There was a selection of around 30 things to build your box up with. There was a couple of bits that I had my eye on that were already gone and sold out by the time I got there (Jo Loves Candle for example), that I would have maybe chose above one or two of these.

Fenty Matte Lip Paint in Uncuffed

Fenty Liquid Lip in Uncuffed

I’ve wanted to try one of these since they launched, but the past few years I’ve a) barely been buying lip products and also been gravitating back towards more glossy and balmy formulas. However I have received some PR from Fenty recently and I thought doing a roundup of a few of their different lip formulas may make an interesting post. This colour, Uncuffed was a colour I could see myself buying in a lovely neutral rose shade. At £22 full price, this was most of the cost of the box.

Suqqu Sheer Matte Lipstick in Shade 09 Maakiaro

Suqqu is a brand that I’ve heard little about, but what I have heard has been really postive. This was a lucky dip on shades and actually, I’m happy with what I got as it’s not the kind of shade I’ve worn a lot over the past few years, but it does look like the kind of shade I did used to love, in a gorgeous coral colour that should be gorgeous for spring and summer. This is a £33 lipstick, which again over exceeds the value of the box!

The Inkey List Succinic Acid Blemish Treatment

I don’t get blemishes too often and I have a spot treatment from the Beauty Bay, however I find depending on the type of spot it’s not always effective, so I thought getting another to flip between may be good for my skincare arsenal. At £7.99, this of course wasn’t going to be a huge value from the budget brand but it has good reviews online and an item that will definitely get used and be useful to have.

Bybi Bakuchiol Booster

Bybi is a brand that I’ve had my eye on for a while, it’s Instagram friendly packaging, but I’ve bought very little skincare since working for a skincare company, so getting round to trying the brand hasn’t been top of my to-do list. Bakuchiol is an alternative to retinol, which helps stimulate collagen production, helping smooth, plump, brighten and improve the texture. Bybi is another budget brand and the value of this is £12.99 for a 15ml bottle.

Nip & Fab Anti Redness Moisturiser with SPF 30

Nip + Fab Anti Redness Moisturiser

I picked this up for summer days at home where i’m not wearing makeup and I’m kind of popping in and out of the garden all day to give my skin some extra protection. Nip & Fab I think of as a cheaper brand, but actually this product is £30, but it has excellent reviews online, so I’m looking forward to trying. I never used to moisturise before makeup as an oily person I found it overloaded my skin, but I’ve been using more hydrating primers for a few months and actually loving how my skin looks, so I may try this moisturiser as a two in one step too.

Amanda Harrington The Bespoke Tanning Contour Set in Olive

Amanda Harrington Contour Tanning Set

At £55 for the kit, I think I was pulled in by the price tag and my good intentions, and cast aside I never fake tan, let alone apply two different fake tans in a way to contour my face… Amanda Harrington is meant to be an amazing brand, but I just can’t be bothered with the maintenance of fake tan. I may leave this out, see if I can be bothered with the idea and if in a month I haven’t touched it pop it on eBay and recoup some money!

The Value of my box totalled over £160, with one product I definitely wanted to try – and a few brands I had been curious about trying for £28 it was a really good value way to be able to snag these to try. These collaboration build your own boxes sell out really quickly and this one has been and gone, but if you like the concept, the Latest in Beauty Box is a monthly subscription box with new items launching weekly. You can get 20% of your first subscription box with code: 20OFFSUB (Affiliate Link).
