Latest In Beauty Beauty Box – October 2020

Latest In Beauty Beauty Box – October 2020

It’s been a little while since I had a Latest in Beauty Box. I was targetted with an advert on Instagram and I’d been meaning to subscribe as a one-off box for a little while as one my favourite beauty items had been discontinued but it was still available as part of the box. So as a one off treat I decided to resubscribe to stock up on that item as I was running very low.

For those who aren’t aware of Latest In Beauty it’s a build your own beauty box, they used to have different level of items per month – but they’ve recently simplified their subscription and it’s now 6 items a month you can pick from for £12.95 (+£3.95 P&P which if you’re subscribed for over 3 months is removed). Every month they have a different themed box, but they have a lot of items remaining from previous months. One thing about the box I’ve found is that they release new items every day, but it means sometimes when I’ve looked at subscribing that there’s not been enough on there that I’m interested in, and then if I wait a few days until new items have been added – some of the other items are out of stock. It can feel a bit like luck of the draw. I do like the concept, but sometimes it feels like the stock can be a little low – and I think I’d prefer the option of everything being released at once.

Basic Beauty Tools Spongeclean – Full Size

So this was the item I wanted to stock up on, honestly if I could have a whole box of these I would have done. Sadly Basic Beauty Tools have stopped trading, so this now can’t be picked up. I love this and find it a good cleaner for makeup brushes and the best thing I’ve ever tried for beauty blenders too. I’ve almost finished my third or fourth bottle of this and I wanted to get a back up so I have time to search out a replacement.

Laura Mercier Rouge Essentiel A La Rose Lipstick – Mini

This was their item of the month and I was expecting it to be a little bigger! I do like a mini lipstick for clutch bags though so I can’t be too mad, but it’s such a me type colour I can see myself finishing it very quickly. I’ve tried very little from Laura Mercier, so I’m looking forward to having something from the brand to try out.

KVD Beauty Tattoo Liner – Mini

I’ve tried this a few years ago and I really hated it – I found the pigmentation really poor, but I know it’s one of the most loved liners in the beauty world so I’ve always been intrigued as to whether I had one from a dodgy batch. I have no liquid liners in back up, so thought it would be handy to just have one as a backup just in case the one I’m currently using dries up unexpectedly.

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Do Me Baby – Mini

This was the only item in my selections that wasn’t CF, I really struggled to find another item I thought I’d be interested in. I’m a sucker for a non-true red in autumn and online this looks red, but looking up the swatches now it’s arrived it’s more of a deep mauve. I’ve got a few of these in my collection and have always enjoyed the formula. I may stick it into my giveaway box rather than using it on myself.

Glow Me Up – Glow Away Makeup Remover – Full Size

I’ve been intrigued with trying Face Halos and this looked like something similar, I’ve tried to get as much of my routine to using reusable items as possible. These have a really nice velvety touch and feel like they would be nice to use – I’m wondering how well they wash though, so will be interesting to see how well they way.

Skincity Mellow Balm Cleanser – Deluxe Size

I’ve not heard of this brand before – it esems like it’s an own brand from a skincare website called Skincity, who I haven’t heard of before. I’m a sucker for a balm and thought this would be a balm cleanser but reading the description it’s actually a gel to milk formula – I’m not sure why it’s called balm. Anyway, my cleanser stash had been starting to run low – but I think I’ve gained 3/4 recently, so I’ll be getting this to this soon to try.

Estee Lauder Hand Sanitizer – Free Addition

As part of the instagram offer I saw, this was included as a freebie for resubscribing. I wasn’t expecting it to be so huge it didn’t say it was going to be 200ml – I was thinking, oh that will be handy to shove in a handbag – I think I’ll be using this to refill smaller bottles instead though!

As if Estee Lauder have hand sanitizer!!

The colour of the Laura Mercier lipstick is beautiful – I can definitely see it suiting you 🙂

I’m really intrigued by the Glow Me Up makeup remover (and in general, items like that). It would be interesting to see what you think of it!
