Current Favourites : February 2015

I’ve never done a favourites post before! So I think the time is long overdue that I share some things that I have been loving. Rather than monthly I think I’ll share at regular intervals what I’ve been obsessing over.

Pretty Little Liars

I feel like I really should start with a beauty product, but Pretty Little Liars is 100% taking over my life. I started watching 2 weeks ago and have watched 2 and a half series in that time (just a mere 60 episodes – I was ill so there were a few marathon days of only watching that – it makes it sound moderately better). If you’ve never watched it follows 4 high school girls whose best friend is killed, the story picks up a year later as they are stalked and plagued by blackmailing text messages by someone who goes by the name ‘A’. As you can probably guess the story follows them trying to figure out who A is. It’s on netflix if you haven’t tried it out, I would recommend it – it’s not too girly, but boyfriends probably won’t want to watch it with you, but maybe for the 4 attractive high school girls.

My Little Beauty Volumising Mascara

Coming from November’s My Little Box (my little cosy box review here) this mascara is now joint favourite with my previous holy grail Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara, this is now unfortunately starting to come to an end as I’ve been reaching for it over my lancome, and I’m debating buying this again over hypnose drama, it’s slightly cheaper although with delivery from France (where My Little Beauty are based), it will probably work out at a similar price with shipping.

Tom Ford Black Orchid Perfume

Bought for me for Christmas by my lovely boyfriend, this is a perfume I’ve lusted over for years and never bit the bullet and bought for myself. I more often than not reach for girly floral and fruity fragrances, and this is the polar opposite. Dark and sultry, this is way more ‘grown up’ than what I reach for day to day and it’s incredible, lasting all day as I get compliments throughout the day of wearing it, and can still smell it on myself too – which is always a plus. It’s expensive so will be one which I’ve save for special occasions and evenings out. Also this packaging is gorgeous, but is worth every expensive penny (50ml  £72).

Makeup Revolution Iconic 2 Palette

A knock off of the Naked 2 palette, I bought the 3 & 2 dupes from Make Up Revolution some time ago now. I was reaching for the 3 all the time, and switched out for the 2 in December and I much prefer it for me. I have other Urban Decay palette but these last just as long on me with Urban Decays primer potion and I can’t fault it. For the price (£4) save your money on Urban Decay and try Make Up Revolutions instead, especially if you aren’t sure (for example the pink toned 3). I’m still trying to clear through my make up collection but when I’ve made a dent in some of my stash I will be purchasing the original Naked palette dupe from them as well.

TRESemmé Vibrant Naturals Smooth & Revitalize Shampoo

I’m not a fan of Tresemme shampoos and conditioners in general, so when I sent my boyfriend out to get some shampoo and he came back with this I did groan a bit. I shouldn’t have as it’s amazing. It makes my hair squeaky clean, I can now go 3 days between washes with barely any dry shampoo in between. It is a little drying, so you do need a nice conditioner to counteract – but totally worth it. Does have some sulphates but doesn’t have parabens, and is hypoallergenic.

M&S Boots

Bought in the sale this week, these were such a bargain that I picked them up in black and brown (£14.99 and £17.99 each – when I got to the till they were reduced even further to £10.99 and £14.99!). Again look great with jeans for a more smart casual look, but also great for around the office. Surprisingly comfortable and ever classic that they won’t be out of style by next season.

The brown ones are out of stock online – but the black are available here
