I never thought that my own website’s sidebar would be a dangerous place for me to look, but I noticed that my standard Beauty Bay banner had changed to Sale, and naturally I had to click through and see what there was, as a post holiday blues treat (there’s going to be a lot of those coming up!). And I picked up just a few things that I couldn’t resist!
I’ve been lusting after the Makeup Geek lip range since I saw Marlena’s launch video and the last time I checked the Beauty Bay website we were still unable to get them in the UK (about a week pre honeymoon!), so when I hopped on and saw not only did they had them, but they were also on sale I swiped up three of the different formulas, the only one I didn’t pick up was a gloss as I’m just not a gloss gal.
First I picked up the Plush Lip Creme in the shade Troublemaker which is a gorgeous lilac purple, I have no lip colours this shade at all, and I’m hoping it’s a wearable shade (link to the Plush Lip Cremes – Currently £5.70 usually £9.50). I also picked up a Plush lip Matte in the shade Cougar, a bright fuchsia pink perfect for summer (link to the Plush Lip Mattes – Currently £5.70 usually £9.50). Lastly I picked up the Iconic Lipstick in the shade proper, of course I had to go to my failsafe rose as one of the choices – so this is the shade Proper, the packaging of this is so slick and pretty, I can’t wait to give it a try! (link to the Iconic Lipstick – Currently £7.20 usually £12.00)
Next up I decided it was time to bin my Lush Lip Scrub that I’ve had since Uni (atlas 6 years ago), which I never use as the sickly bubblegum scent and taste is horrific – and it’s well past it’s expiry. The Jeffree Star Velour Lip Scrubs have been raved about everywhere, and when I saw that a selection of the flavours were in the sale I decided to take a peek. I picked up the Mojito one, my absolute fave, and I don’t think this is going to disappoint, again another thing with a good discount (link to the Velour Lip Scrubs on Sale – Currently £7.20 usually £12.00)
Last up, a quick little last item to throw in the bag – I picked up a blending brush from Morphe, I was looking for a blending brush that was really soft and fluffy, I’ve picked up some cheaper Morphe ones in the past and whilst I use them a lot they’re not as soft as I’d like, so I opted for one from their Elite II range – this is the E30, and I don’t think it’s going to disappoint – it’s so soft, but is a little bigger than I was thinking it was going to be – it’ll be good for softening edges (link to the brush – Currently £4.20 Usually £7).
So that’s it for my Beauty Bay haul – it wasn’t a big one at all, and I’m so pleased I picked the lip products up at such a steal! I’m going to do a roundup on the three makeup geek lip products I think and put them to the test over the next few weeks and talk about the range as a collective rather than separately…. I’m also planning on finally getting a move on with my liquid lipstick post which is probably going to take a month of preparation and comparison to decide what my ultimate favourite formulas are!
I’m not sure how long the Beauty Bay sale is going on for, so if you’d like to check out the Sale, I’d get on it as it’s been running for about a week already!
