The “Fuck It You’ve Had a Bad Month” Haul

The “Fuck It You’ve Had a Bad Month” Haul

It would be fair to say the past month has been the worst month of my entire life. When my first full pay packet went into my account for my new job, I had a real treat yoself to cheer yoself up 24 hours. I don’t feel guilty at all and the gradual deliveries of those purchases arriving has been providing some cheer back, they’ve been as grown up as a Shark steam mop and retreating into my young twenties self as… well this haul. This all arrived a few weeks ago now and it’s been piled up on the side waiting for me to photograph it, I’m excited to get to using most of it!

Boots Micellar Water – £3.00

The least treat yoself item was this, I’m currently trying to finish up the Milky Micellar Water from Garnier which I reviewed when it first came out and I just don’t like it and I’m struggling to make my way through it. The original Garnier Micellar Water is my all time favourite, but I find their Cruelty Free status a bit confusing, so I’ve held off repurchasing since I made the switch. I had an extra points offer for this item on my Boots card with purchase so I thought I’d give the Boot’s own version a try. It comes in a few pounds cheaper than Garnier’s too so I hope this will be a good option.

Lee Stafford Keep It Clean Dry Shampoo – £3.66 (1/3 off)

I’ve been hearing really good things about this dry shampoo from Miss Budget Beauty lately and I’ve been meaning to pick it up the past few times I’ve been past a Boot’s as I’ve been out of dry shampoo for about a month now. I really like the Lee Stafford scent and I’m hoping this has the same original fragrance. I’ve not been impressed with the other dry shampoos from this range in the past, so fingers crossed that Keep It Clean is a winner.

BECCA Skin Love Glow Shield Prime & Set Mist – £10 (Reduced from £22)

Boot’s have been doing £10 Tuesday deals and every one I’ve liked the look of my order has either been cancelled or they’ve sold out within an hour of the offer going live. In all honesty, I didn’t really need this setting spray, I have 2 on the go which I’m trying to finish up – but I would have thought by the end of the year they will be finished… so stocking up with such a good deal didn’t seem like the worst idea in the world.

Fenty Mascara Mini in Ivy League – £11

It was only when my order had gone through that I noticed that Fenty’s Mascaras come in coloured options… and I’d added a green mascara to my basket. I’m undecided whether to make a big trek to my local Fenty counter to swap it over or to delve into this coloured version. My friend Molly had tried this mascara (non-green) and said she’d enjoyed it and the reviewer in me who loves mascara had it on my list to try out. If you’ve tried the coloured versions let me know in the comments whether I should keep it! I’d use it but I’m worried I’d use it so infrequently it would go bad!

Fenty Glossy Posse Holodaze Set – £30

I really regretted not splurging on the Fenty Gloss set last Christmas, everyone raves about this gloss formula and when I saw that this year’s one was out I decided to snap it up straight away. Featuring a pretty raspberry, gold, bronze and peach set – this looked like a great set for me year round when my colour preferences change on the lips. I’ve been swinging back to gloss more often over the past 18 months or so, and as someone who loved a liquid lipstick for many years I don’t really have any glosses in my collection.

Huda Beauty Haze Obsessions Palette – £27

I ended up using my points on this purchase – originally I was hoping to get one of the Rude Cosmetics palettes but they don’t yet stock it on Boots. I spotted this and whilst I really didn’t need an eyeshadow palette I didn’t feel too guilty as I used my loyalty points for it. I really liked the look of those heather-purple shades with that greyish undertone, I thought it would pair really nicely with the It’s My Pleasure Palette from Colourpop. These Haze palettes are pretty new from them, I did zero research, I just went off the pan pictures which I never do. So we’ll see if this was a good gamble or not! First swatches of this indicate this might be the best Huda palette I’ve tried yet, it’s STUNNING, I can not wait to get it on my eyes!

Apple Watch SE

Slightly unrelated to all this from Boots but I decided to finally get an Apple Watch, I’ve wanted one for around a year now and have put off buying one as a luxury I didn’t need. I however wanted something that would track my steps more accurately as I don’t carry my phone around the house and some days when I look at my step count it says I’ve not made a step for several hours, in reality I’m just not on the move with my phone! I found it really hard to get hold of the gold one in the 40mm size in stock anywhere with a short delivery time, Apple was over a 3 week wait, John Lewis was out of stock and a lot of other retailers didn’t have the SE edition at all yet. I managed to find it on Curry’s and splurged for next day delivery so I could start feeling less lazy. I have been loving it the past few weeks and have been cutting down the amount that comes in notification wise on it to get it to my level, but it’s essentially just going to be a fancy pedometer, so far I I’m glad I finally took the plunge and got one. The SE ones came out at the right time for me!

What have you treated yourself to lately? Don’t give me too much inspo though – I need my card taking away from me for the rest of the month!

Good on you for treating yourself, definitely sounds like it’s well deserved! <3

The Huda palette looks like a mix between It's My Pleasure and Lilac You a Lot – I'm sure you'll enjoy using it! The Fenty gloss set looks pretty, I got Fu$$y in a set last month. The scent of the glosses is amazing, have you smelt them yet?

The Apple Watch sounds like a cool gadget, does it sync up to your iPhone if you have one?

Yes it does have some similarities, some of them have a duochrome like quality to them which makes them a little different – but I should get It’s my pleasure out and compare side by side!
      I haven’t smelt them yet.
Yes all syncs up with iphone and can pass though messages, phone calls, whats app etc – i’ve toned it down a little as I don’t like receiving all messages on my watch and staring at my wrist intently when I’m around people!

Comparing both palettes would make for a good blog post idea 😉
The glosses smell delicious, you will love them!
        Fair enough x
