Whilst I’m on a no-buy right now, it hasn’t stopped me from making myself a little shopping list. There’s some gorgeous spring launches already emerging and a few bits I’ve had my eye on for the past few months. So far for January, this is as successful as I’ve ever been on a no-buy, I’ve bought a conditioner and dry shampoo – both of which I’d ran out of and needed as I had no backups left to finish up and I’m determined to stick it out.
Stila Magnificent Metals Spring Collection
I’ll likely be picking up all three of these over the coming months, Gypsy (the pinky purple) in particular is a shade I basically named as wanting to see in future, and now it’s here it would be rude to say no. Wanderlust is a duo chrome pink to gold glitter (I suspect some colour retouching has been done in that eye look). There’s a whole bunch of the new ‘Shimmer and Glow’ ones – I haven’t really gotten along with those so far, but there’s one in particular that’s piquing my interest, called cloud shimmer which looks like a dusky lilac with subdued champagne. If anyone wants to know what I want for my birthday, it’s these! Haha!
NARS Soft Matte Concealer
I don’t think there’s been a bad word said about this concealer since it launched last year, I’ve not seen a review on it which has mentioned it badly! It looks beautiful on everyone’s skin and the more I see it mentioned, the more I want it. I have a few concealers I’m trying to get through, but that one is next on my hitlist.
Huda #FauxFilter Foundation
I’m yet to try anything from Huda, and confession I’ve never watched any of her videos either. But I’ve seen a lot of good things about this foundation so far. It sounds pretty similar to the Fenty foundation in it’s blurring perfecting appearance properties. The one problem I have is shade matching, I want to give it ago but hate ordering foundation shades online. Sometimes sites get comparisons right, sometimes it can be way off, I’m at my palest at the moment so as long as it’s no more than a shade or two darker it would probably be good for summer.
Violet Voss Brush Cleanser
Technically I could buy myself this and it be allowed, I’m completely out of brush cleansers – but I’m trying to cope without until the no buy is over, using up some mini shampoos in place of a cleanser. I really love my Violet Voss eyeshadow palette but I haven’t tried anything else from the brand yet (granted they don’t have a huge range of products). I’ll admit that I’ve been semi-suckered in by the product design (thinking of the pretty blog photos already). But I have a 20% off Beauty Bay voucher pre-loaded to my account waiting for February to tick over.
Too Faced Diamond Highlighter
Do I need another highlighter? Absolutely not – but I can’t argue that this isn’t a piece of art to be marvelled at. I almost want one to stare at forever, and one to use. Most coloured highlighters have ended up being a let down but this has been a really well reviewed highlighter – it’s huge and would last quite some time. I actually reorganised my vanity recently and the past 18 months of me trying to use up has boded me well, I only have 4 left in my collection, so I wouldn’t feel too guilty about adding this to my collection!
Bobbi Brown Crushed Lipsticks
I heard amazing things about these on the Full Coverage Podcast months ago and finally swatched them over Christmas when I was in nottingham. These I can tell would be such a comfortable forumla to wear – they’re also meant to be very long lasting. I don’t want many of these but I’d love to try the formula in a shade I would get a lot of use out of *cough, Rose Pink*. Baby, Lilac, Babe and Grenadine have my name on it!
That’s all! It’s not a huge list at all and I’m feeling quite positively restrained after a clear out on Thursday Night. What are you lusting after currently?
