I was completely excited to receive my ‘My Little Box‘ this month – my friend at work had hers delivered almost a week before hers and she told me how fantastic it was and I couldn’t resist taking a peek (as I knew mine would be a good few days behind as it always has been for some reason!). This saw the subscription transformed into a My Little Magic Box for the month of December – and spoiler alert, this is the best My Little Box to date.
The box is complete with the usual print – although I’m not 100% sure I understand it, I normally keep these to put up around the house – this one says “this box is magical, do you know why?” – with a picture of 2 girls partying (no box), so outside of the box it makes no sense what-so-ever which is a shame! Besides that the ‘proper’ magazine is back – instead of the giant fold out poster which was both difficult to read, and it would be full of creases should you have wanted to put it up on the wall! Onto the contents of the box…
KUSMI GREEN TEA
The more lifestyle items this month included a Kusmi Tea – which is a french brand who I haven’t heard of before, in a beautiful tiny tin (that definitely won’t get thrown after use!). As soon as I opened the box I could smell something fruity and christmassy and it’s this (despite being sealed), this is a green tea with orange, vanilla, cinnamon, blackthorn berries and liquorice roots.
Next a pair of mittens where the finger tips fold back and button up, these are a super cute navy with a gold thread running through (although thanks to the winter light they look black). I was a bit worried these were going to be a bit cheap and itchy (my skin is a wool snob and only likes one type of wool!) but luckily they’re not!
The gold and navy theme continues with a gorgeous canvas pouch which is lined so it’s either waterproof or dirt escaping proof, suitable for makeup, accessories – or to be honest if you really wanted to you could use it for a clutch as well. Sometimes items from boxes like this can look nice – but aren’t very well made. This feels and appears very sturdy – it’s the perfect size for an overnight makeup bag where you don’t need to take everything. One side features some glittery gold illustrations of makeup items and perfume, the other has polka dots adorning it.
Inside the cosmetics bag we were greeted with 3 beauty items as normal, going further to impress me and make it the best box yet.
My Little Beauty Vice Versa Polish DUO
First of is a nail polish duo from My Little Beauty called Vice Versa – which features two shades which completes the navy and gold theme, with a shimmery navy shade called ‘Night’ and a gold glitter topcoat called ‘sparkling’. Both shades are super pretty and I’ll be trying them out on the next available opportunity!
RITUALS TOUCH OF HAPPINESS
Next in the box was Rituals Touch of Happiness Body Cream – another product which might have been guilty of making the box smell gorgeous from when I opened it! This is sweet orange and cedar wood scented, so similarly to the tea it’s a nice festive mix of rich fruity scents and smokey warm spiciness. I’ve not tried anything from rituals apart from the shower foams, so I’m excited to give this a go.
TOO FACED MELTED FUSCHIA LIQUID LIPSTICK
Last but certainly not least is a product which I’ve eyed from a distance for a long while – this is a generous sample sized Too Faced Melted lipstick – in a very me shade ‘Melted Fuchsia’. I’m actually happy to have a miniature size, because realistically – how often do you finish a lip product, especially if like me you have 30 bright pink shades?! I love liquid lipsticks, and I’m sure this will be no exception.
What do you think of this month’s box? Pretty magical items inside right?
If you’re thinking of subscribing and want to see past offerings from MLB (none are quite as good as this in my opinion, but still great) check out this post here for every UK box they’ve made.
