February’s £25 Beauty Budget – How I Spent It

If you missed my first monthly post of how I’ve been trying to keep my spending in check from January click here to see how and why I’m trying to save money.

NON ESSENTIAL ITEMS (WITHIN THE £25)

Look Incredible Beauty Box – £18.99

look-incredible

I’ve only allowed myself one beauty box a month and any additional ones have to come out of my monthly budget – with this being quite an expensive one, but fantastic value for money with 5 high end goodies for me to try out, I think it was a good investment and one I’ll be trying again next month before deciding whether to keep going with it or not. Click here to see the review, caution – may cause beauty box jealousy.

Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Eyeshadow Palette – £7.99

ESSENTIAL ITEMS (NOT WITHIN THE £25)

L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Shampoo, Conditioner and Pre Shampoo Treatment

I was starting to run low on shampoo and conditioner and after seeing this advertised I knew this was what I wanted to try out next. I’ve already reviewed it here if you’re curious about clay haircare and want to hear my thoughts on the pre shampoo treatment, shampoo and conditioner.

Charles Worthington Violet Shampoo – £5.99

I knew I was every close to running out to my Bleach London SIlver shampoo and the Boots I went to didn’t stock the line. I decided to try the Violet shampoo from Charles Worthington – I’ve not tried much from CW at all and is a lot less vivid for a blonde shampoo so I’m curious to see if it’s any better or worse than Bleach’s offering.

Lee Stafford Coco Loco Blow & Go Genius Lotion – £6.99

This might seem familiar as I’ve already reviewed this and it’s featured in my favourite products giveaway. This is incredible and I can’t live with out it. Makes my hair much easier to manage and brushing it through takes half the time and loses me half the hair. Full review of this – and all it’s other wonderful benefits already up here.

Lee Stafford Bleach Blondes Hot Shots – (Normally £6.99 But Free in my 3 for 2)

I wouldn’t normally  include these as essential but I snagged them as a third item in Boots 3 for 2 on haircare – so these where what I picked as my third item. I’ve reviewed this intense Violet treatment designed for blonde locks already here.

Birthday SPENDS (FREE!)

It was my birthday this month so any money I got could be put towards beauty spends – guilt free! I also was surprised with a trip to New York, so any shopping I did there was also not counted, once in a lifetime opportunity and all that!

Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection – £25

When I saw this discounted in Boots for only £25 – reduced from £66 I picked it up straight away, I’d eyed this up at Christmas and decided not to get it. I have been in need of some more face brushes and love the Real Techniques range, the Bold metal brushes are around that price each, so getting 3 for the price of one was a pretty good deal in my opinion!

New York Haul

I won’t go into too much detail here as I’ve done separate posts on the items I bought in New York, but I did of course stop off at some of the beauty destinations you’d expect, Sephora, CVS, Duane Reed. I’ve been lazy getting part 3 up, seriously – wedding planning is already taking over every waking moment and I’m behind!

Part 1, Part 2 (Part 3 Still to Go Up – hopefully this week!)

February’s Total

Nice score on that Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection for less than 50%! Good job on the budget – don’t spend your 53p all in one place now! 😉
