Yesterday I posted part one of my December 2019 empties as I finished so many products last month it would have taken someone forever to read the whole thing. The second part features haircare and a hell of a lot of skincare! Firstly apologies a few of these images are a little blurry – the weather was absolutely dark and shocking when I took these pics, and I didn’t realise a few were blurry until they were already on their way to the recycling!
Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo 90ml [Gifted by Superdrug]
Favourite shampoo ever, cleans my hair, makes it shiny and doesn’t overload my greasy roots. I can use this without conditioner and my hair looks in great condition.
Repurchase? Already working on a large bottle.
Aussie Miracle Moist Conditioner
Great Conditioner to accompany the shampoo. I usually only pick this up when I need conditioner and when it’s on a 3 for 3 offer or something, but I do enjoy using it.
Palmers Natural Fusions Lavender Rose Water Conditioner [Gifted by Superdrug]
I had to use this carefully as I have a lavender allergy, but I made sure I wasn’t putting the product right to my root and I seemed to get away with it. This to me smells way more like Rose than it does Lavender, but Ben said the opposite when I asked. This was an okay conditioner, but it’s about £8 for the full size and there’s other conditioners that I’ve tried that are cheaper that are more effective.
SGX NYC Dry Touch Volumising Shampoo Review
I recently reviewed several products from this line, and it’s unsurprising that the dry shampoo is the first thing I finished up out of them all. This was a nice dry shampoo that did the job well – I used it as often for styling purposes as I did for getting rid of root oil. I don’t find I need to use a dry shampoo too often any more as I’m happy for my hair to look greasy when I’m at home alone until I get chance to wash, but they are handy to have around for when I need it. I do think I’ll buy something that’s a smaller can for that reason, but I would pick it up again if I saw it on offer.
Living Proof Prime Style Extender Spray 50ml
So glad to have finished this up, I’ve been using this on and off for a year. I personally didn’t think it helped extend the wear of any style that I put into my hair.
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Nightcap 30ml
Another Living Proof product finished, I only had about half a use of this left but I’m glad that I finished this up finally. It’s another product I felt like did nothing, an overnight treatment that’s meant to be an intense treatment for the hair to smooth the hair once washed off.
Repurchase? Again, no – everything I’ve tried from Living Proof I’ve felt hasn’t done anything or has been very overpriced.
Percy and Reed Shine and Mist Fragrance Mist
This would smell nice if I was cleaning the toilet, it almost has a slightly pine like scent that doesn’t make me feel very elegant using it! The Shine effects are okay, but I’ve definitely used better things from Tigi which come in a larger bottle and can be picked up cheaper than this!
Pixi Vitamin C Lotion [Gifted] Review
This had been my go-to moisturiser for the last few months, I really liked the light texture of this and found it mixed well with other serums and oils I mix in at night time. I do prefer the Pixi Rose Ceramide Cream to this for night time, but this is a good day moisturiser if you like something really light.
Repurchase? Maybe in future, but I don’t need another at the moment.
Formula Absolute Ultimate Sleep Cream 15ml (Review)
After realising I had a really big surplus of this sleep cream in my cupboard. It made my 2018 favourites but I’ve been using so many products from Pixi this year I’ve not gotten to this. I decided to use up a mini of it during December and it reminded me just how much I do like this sleep cream!
Repurchase? No need, I have 2 full sizes and one mini in my cupboard!
Pixi Vitamin C Tonic 100ml [Gifted]
I refilled my pump top Vitamin C juice cleanser from Pixi with the Vit C Tonic and sped through it this month. I really like this particularly in the morning as it’s citrusy scent is a wake me up for my nose as well as the skin. Probably now my second favourite tonic from Pixi
Repurchase? Yes, but not immediately – I have a lot of tonics to get through first.
Pixi Rose Glow Mist [Gifted]
I’ve taken to using up mists during the daytime when I work from home. I really liked this and my skin seemed to lap it up when I was using it a couple of times a day. This is a product which you need to shake up as it contains oil. I did find towards the end that there wasn’t much oil left through and it felt like it didn’t work quite as well, but I may not have been shaking it properly.
Repurchase? Maybe in future, but not for now
Rodial Dragon’s Blood
Another product which I used up during December by keeping it on my desk. I didn’t find this as hydrating as the Pixi one but it was nice enough.
Repurchase? I’m currently using another one of these up, but I won’t repurchase once finished.
The Body Shop Shea Lip Butter
I pretty much start and finished this in December, my lips were so dry and verging onflaky and this completely saved them! I didn’t love the taste of the Shea, but it was super effective.
Repurchase? Yes, but I’d maybe try a different scent
Your Good Skin Refreshing Face Wash Review
I was given this for free in Boots randomly one day as I was purchasing something else, it popped up to give me a free face wash which has never happened before. I’ve kept this in my shower over the past few months and it’s been a bit of a slog to finish up. This was okay, but not the best at removing makeup but okay for a budget gel cleanser.
Garnier Micellar Water 400ml
All time favourite Micellar Water, I mostly use this when I’m feeling lazy or only taking off part of my makeup.
Repurchase? Yes, but I have a few things I’m going to try and use up first.
Tony Moly I’m Real Avocado Sheet Mask
It’s been ages since I used a sheet mask so I decided to try and start working my way through what I had! This was nice – I found it quite hydrating for a quick skin pick me up.
Repurchase? No, I’m not planning on buying any new sheet masks for environmental reasons but I will finish up what I have.
The Body Shop Himalayan Clay Mask
I’ve been wanting to try this for a while but it got tucked away in my cupboard and I only found it whilst decluttering and tidying between Christmas and New Year. This reminded me of a less harsh version of the Glamglow Tinglemud face mask which my skin reacts badly too, but it has the same soft exfoliating leafy bits in.
Repurchase? No because I have so many masks to use up, but I would recommend if you’re in the market for a mask
Guardian (Malaysian Pharmacy) Bye Bye Tired Eyes Patches
I picked these up on honeymoon, and I decided to finally try these recently. These were really refreshing and cooling feeling on the skin.
Repurchase? Not unless I’m flying back to Malaysia – but I do think I have another set lingering.
Yes to Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Mask [Gifted]
These Yes to Tomatoes masks I was gifted a big selection of them and they just aren’t good. None of the ones I’ve tried yet have done anything!
Michael Todd Pumpkin Face Mask
I’ve had this for a lot longer than I should admit. It was a GWP with another mask which I am still yet to finish also! This was a mask that looked like baby sick on your skin, smelt awful but did amazing job at brightening the skin. I’d been trying to finish this for a while so I’m glad I’ve finally managed it!
Repurchase? No but also discontinued.
Garnier Detox Gel Lemongrass Gel Wash
This has such a strong lemongrass scent! This cleansed the skin well but as a single use I can’t really comment any further!
Sanctuary Cleanse Ultimate Cleansing Oil
I had this one in my shower, this was okay, but I preferred the DHC Cleansing Oil below out of the two. It smelt better but I didn’t find the formula as effective at melting down makeup.
DHC Deep Cleansing Oil 30ml
I finished one of these up recently and I decided to finish up my second as I know I’ve had these a really long time and they’ve remained unopened. These are very effective but I don’t love the smell, they smell really waxy!
Phew and that’s it for another years worth of empties! I’ll be doing my full recap hopefully early next week, but in terms of totals for the year it took me to get 274 finished products across all size of products, and my total value was £2118.26. You can take a copy of the spreadsheet here if you fancy tracking your empties in 2020, or if you’d just like to have a nosy though mine!
Let me know in the comments if you have tried any of the products that I’ve mentioned here and whether you would repurchase them or not!
