A Year Of My Little Box

Undoubtedly one of my most popular posts every month on my blog is my monthly My Little Box Reviews. The subscription started shipping the UK last September (apart from the preview in August for big bloggers), which means I’ve received 12 parcels of joy over the past year and this is a post to celebrate the service.

Undeniably my favourite piece of monthly mail each month it’s been rare that my little box has been a disappointed. There’s at least 1 star in the box which might make up for any duds (as opposed to Glossybox which I was finding was becoming a box full of duds). But any products I’m disappointed with are usually because they don’t suit me, rather than being terrible, so there’s usually a friend who I can think of who will love this product instead.

The beauty products that come through My Little Box tend to become apart of my routine very quickly and in a large majority of cases they become favourites too. For those who aren’t aware My Little Box is run by a french beauty brand called My Little Beauty, each of their boxes features one of their own brand products (which are usually amazing – their mascara is my favourite!).

I thought I would do a little showcase of each month with a self explanatory little icon on the beauty products as to whether I loved them or not. Anything with an additional star means they’ve been loved that much they’re already been in my empties – the august box is obviously still new so opinions are reserved for now. Key below (how school project of me!). The post also include all the lifestyle/fashion items that are in each box – I don’t know why but I never tend to think of these as part of the box and always as bonus extras! My Little Gypset Box – August 2015 My Little Box

In the past year I’ve received 38 beauty products via My Little Box as you can see there’s a lot of loves for the products and a lot of the ones I haven’t used up are either well on their way, or are things like lipstick or nail varnish which haven’t been used up yet. There’s a couple of products here which I’ve now noticed that have been forgotten that have laid untried but there’s only 3 untrieds not including this months which only arrived last Wednesday. But most impressively there is 18 empties, that’s roughly half of everything I’ve received (if you discount this month’s box which would be impossible),  there are some other products which are well on their way to becoming empties too.

Something else that I want to note is that in 12 months I’ve not had one missing parcel (pretty good going as it comes from abroad), I’ve had had one missing item which was only a ink stamp for my little dream box – which I wasn’t too bothered about. Social media may have you believe that there’s lots of problems with deliveries – but I wouldn’t say that’s the case this month is the first month that I’d say my box was slightly late compared to others, but it still arrived within the timeframe My Little Box gave. Remember for every 1 moan on a facebook page there is probably 100 successful deliveries!

Their customer service has been fab (check out my post on that here), by sending me a free mascara after saying it was my favourite and I was upset I couldn’t repurchase it – they surprised me (didn’t even ask for my address and didn’t tell me they were sending a back up) by popping one in the post which arrived within 2 days of the comment on facebook!

So that’s it, hopefully if you have been tempted to subscribe to My Little Box you can see a roundup of everything that’s come through the past year of their service to the UK you will have found this helpful. I love this and do not plan to stop any time soon, whilst it’s not the cheapest (although is shipping from France and I think it is reasonable) you’ll see from the amount of products which are empty that I do get good value from it. They’re never products which get pushed to the back of my stash.

This may sound like I’m sponsored by My Little Box (I should be because I rave to everyone about it) – but I’m not I promise – I pay for these boxes with my own money and I absolutely love them.

Are you subscribed to My Little Box? What are your favourite past boxes?

These always look so cute and it seems like a really great service 🙂 Unfortunately they don’t ship here yet, but when they start I might just go for it after reading your lovely reviews.

I’ve received it since May and I love it so much, this month’s was the one I’ve liked least but I figure I can’t like everything every month. My favourite items are the brown crayon from May (I know you didn’t like but I love) and the pink sorbet from July (try it, it’s lovely!), along with the travel organiser which I actually used for my hols and was just perfect – well it would have been if it was just me travelling but there’s four of us so now I need to find one I like as much that I can use when we all travel!

Interesting, I found the brown crayon just smudged on me and never locked into place (at least compared to some others I have) – but the colour was beautiful! This month was probably also my least favourite – and whilst I was a bit ‘meh’ about the So Susan, I’ve wore it to work a couple of times and had lots of compliments! I’ve been keeping the Sorbet for my holiday to Egypt in October as it’s an aftersun too – although I have had a cheeky use or two because it smells amazing, but trying to restrain myself so I don’t need to buy another aftersun before I go! I’ve also started filling my travel organiser with my passports ready to go! Thanks for popping by 🙂 xx

    Wow you’ve collected all these!

P.s. Please tell Laura (Mercier) I love her.

Fantastic post! What a great way to objectively evaluate a beauty box. Looks like you seem to like more thing than not liked, which is always a good sign.
Oh you should try that Nuxe oil out, it’s really nice!

I’ve got about 3 of the little blighters – first time I tried it was a few years ago and I didn’t like it (with combo skin it makes me feel like I’m not clean when I put oils on!) – but I do need to retry it! X

      • August 26, 2015 / 9:21 pm

Oh I don’t use it on my face, I use it on my scalp or hair, or on my body! It’s overly fragrant for my face (although I do really like the scent)

        • August 26, 2015 / 9:23 pm

Ooh! I’ll try else where, going to bed shortly, will try and dig it out before I go for a little bedtime indulgence!

Your posts about My Little Box make me so desperate to subscribe to them! If only they shipped to the US. 🙁 As soon as they do, I’ll definitely be signing up! xx

Lovely reviews and you’ve helped me decide what to spend some of my birthday money on. 🙂 Thanks. x
