My Little Box are really turning things around, after months of me being disappointed and at the point of cancellation, they turned it around last month with their Coconut themed box, and this month is no disappointment either. August 2016’s box greets us with mottos of Girl Power in their Friends themed box – although I’m not 100% sure that they’ve tied together the theme as well as they managed last month.
Opening the box this month we were welcomed by a typography card stating ” with the reverse giving positive girly vibes and encouragement, as well as little story as how My Little Box began. Tucked underneath was their usual magazine with articles, fashion and DIY tips.
The first item which jumped out was a bag of Sweet and Salty Propercorn for on the go – which made me giggle as I’d literally just finished eating a bag of sweet and salty popcorn whilst at my desk at work. I already know I love Propercorn and this is going straight in my bag to snack on at work tomorrow, NOM!
Next up was something I’d actually been eyeing online – a clip on fish eye phone camera lens. I’ve got about 10 different camera lens in my amazon shopping cart as I’ve been interested in having something in my handbag for taking cool pictures on the go when I might not have my full camera on me. It also comes with a handy cute canvas pouch to keep it scratch and dust free in my bag. Keep tuned to my instagram where I’ll probably be trialling it out!
Lastly from the lifestyle items this month was this curious little metal and leather covered pouch, which when I opened it up was adorned with lots of nail care tools. Despite starting as a nail polish blogger, I’m ashamed to admit that my nail tool kit is seriously lacking and I’m currently suffering with HORRENDOUS hang nails, so fingers crossed I can decipher what each of these are for and make use of them. It’s also nice and compact so good for travel too!
On to the beauty goodies, first thing I pulled out of the especially pretty canvas pouch this month was the item from My Little Beauty. Unfortunately mine has arrived damaged so I’ve already shot off an email to My Little Box whose customer service is always amazing at handling the odd occasion that arises like this. This is a sheer balmy watermelon red lipstick with SPF 15 inside too – the shade of this actually really reminds me of MAC’s Viva Glam Cyndi – and it’s adorned with super cute pink flamingos. Need I say more about why I love this? I thought not.
Next up was an item from a brand which I’ve never heard of before, I presume it’s french from all the writing on the back. This is a face or body cream from Kadalys, I’m actually going to be putting this straight into my giveaway box, it’s mango and banana scented, and the smell of banana really turns my stomach and I have moisturisers coming out of my ears so I have no need to keep something I don’t think I’ll like. I’m planning a giveaway sometime over the next few months so keep your eyes peeled if you think you’ll like this!
Last but not least was from the newish launch from Batiste who have expanded their haircare range past dry shampoos to shine sprays and hairsprays. This is a travel size of their hold me hairspray, despite the fact I’ve never really loved their dry shampoos I have been curious to try some items from their new line so I’m happily welcoming this to try out.
I don’t think this box outbeats last months for me, but it definitely feels back on track to a box which I enjoy receiving and look forward to using the majority of products from. The only product I’m not so excited about this month is the comforting lotion – but that’s just down to my own banana preferences!
