October Empties

It wasn’t until I was writing up this post, that I realised that I used up quite a lot again this month! So sorry this is another long empties, I predict next months will me minimal compared to September and Octobers! Going on holiday is a great excuse to save the samples you’ve been saving for no reason, saying goodbye to bulky full sized products, hello more space for shopping on the way home.

Balance Me Super Toning Body Wash

I really liked the scent of this, it felt very moisturising. It also got my boyfriends seal of approval, the first day he got out the shower and asked where I got it from, as he swore it was magic. I’m not sure what he actually meant but it was 4 thumbs up from us.

Repurchase? : Maybe I’m guessing it’s more expensive than what I’d usually spend, but really did like the scent and feel

Coola Face SPFs

I had 3 of each of these so these were great to carry around. I did like both, but preferred the mineral version, the classic SPF was just that a classic feeling SPF that left the feeling of oiliness on the skin, it did feel a bit lighter and more moisturising than a body SPF. The mineral one felt much lighter and dried much more matte, still feeling moisturising. My face still went brown, but not a hint of redness,

Repurchase? : maybe actually, I thought I wouldn’t see much difference between a normal body and face SPF but I did. I would go for the mineral as it would work better under makeup and preferred the way it felt.

L’oreal Mythic Oil Hair Masque

I got this in a glossybox in September, I got 4 uses out of this pot. It felt nice and thick and luxurious on the hair. That being said I didn’t notice any effects that made it any better for cheaper alternatives such as tressesme or herbal essences. It left my hair feeling like I had used a normal conditioner, not shinier, smoother or softer in feel. A shame as I really love the mythic oil oil.

Repurchase? : no I’ll be sticking with either the Macadamia oil (worth the splurge for the price difference), or staying to cheaper alternatives like tresseme or herbal essences.

Zhuzh! Tan Accelerator

Zhuzh Tan Accellerator

Between my boyfriend and I we almost used this bottle up over a week. I didn’t go so crazy with it as he did, as using it on the first day, I went brown very very quickly. and I didn’t want to come home looking abnormally brown for October. I used this on the first day, and the last 2 days – and given the weather was warm, but often a little cloudy, I did feel that I got a tan quicker than I would have done otherwise. My boyfriend has freckly skin, and doesn’t normally get much colour, other than more freckles, and he has come back to people telling him he looks brown. We left this behind for the need of saving some space in our case!

Repurchase: I bought this in a triple pack, so I have no need to yet – but I would do!

Aussie Miracle Dry Shampoo

If you saw my Dry Shampoo Showdown recently, you’ll know that this was a product which I raved about. Unfortunately I’m having to throw this without it being actually empty. Seeming to be a common problem, the Aussie Dry Miracle seems to suffer with a faulty bottle problem. I’d say about half of this is still in here, but it won’t spray out.

Repurchase?: I don’t know, I kind of feel like it’s throwing money down the drain, especially when it’s not cheap. I would maybe try the smaller sizes to see if they were any better, but next on my “Try list” is the Colab range my A model recommends/Ruth Crilly. So at least I wouldn’t immediately.

Bodyshop Rainforest Radiance Shampoo and Conditioner for Coloured Hair

Again this is another product which I threw away before I actually finished it. I hope this was an isolated for me, or it was a big coincidence, but my hair was falling out massively within a week of using this permanently. Considering this is meant to be “better for your hair”, with no silicones, colourants or parabens, it did my hair more harm than good. It’s a good job I have very thick hair, otherwise I would be writing some form of big rant post on this.

Not only that I struggled to get on with this, because it didn’t foam much, I found it hard to rub in, and also hard to know if it was washed out. I would rub and rinse for ages and still blowdry my hair to find that it hadn’t all gone. Give me all that ‘nasty’ stuff back, my hair looks better, feels cleaner and isn’t falling out.

I know other people love this product though, so who knows, maybe it was just me!

Repurchase?: Hmmm… NO!

Nivea Nourishing Cocoa In Shower Body Moisturiser

I love this product. We were using this very liberally towards the end of our holiday as we didn’t want to bring this home. My skin from using these Nivea in shower moisturisers have turned to being ultra soft, and are so much easier that a normal moisturiser!

Oh and another tip – they work great for shaving your legs, too, I hate those foaming gels – and this moisturises as you go. Win!

Repurchase?: Yes yes yes, I don’t think I can be without this now!

My Face Cosmetics Blush – Cococabana

I’m really sad I’ve used this up, the brand no longer exists, having used to be sold in boots, it was discontinued about a year ago – and on their website everything is out of stock! This was the perfect subtle contouring bronzer for me, totally matte. I’m now without a contour shade, I’m thinking of trying the sleek contour kit, if you’ve tried it or have any recommendations please let me know!

Repurchase?: I wish I could!

Boots Simply Sensitive Face Wipes

I don’t use this religiously, but they are handy for travel. I tend to pick these up when I want to clean my make up packaging more than anything. These were fine as make up wipes go.

Repurchase?: I tend to pick up what ever is on offer, but I wouldn’t not buy them if I needed them!

The Balm Stainiac Lip Stain

I’ve had this in my handbag for a while, I got this in a birchbox (I think!), I didn’t love it I didn’t hate it – it was the kind of thing I could put on if I didn’t have a mirror with me. But otherwise I wouldn’t reach for it. It wasn’t really a stain – but somewhere between a gloss and and stain.

Repurchase?: No

Garnier Micellar Water

My favourite micellar water that I’ve tried, other than bioderma, but for the price difference, and ease of access, I would use this over Bioderma. This bottle has lasted the claimed 200 uses I think, I’ve had it for around 5-6 months.

Repurchase?: Already have another one on the go!

Skin Pep Dark Circle Eraser

Received in my Glossybox in September, I couldn’t tell that this actually did anything. I didn’t have particularly bad dark circles, but it’s not something I particularly suffer with. I used this the day after we landed in Turkey, and was a little more tired than normal, after arriving at the hotel at just after midnight. I would have expected to see some form of something from using this, but didn’t notice that it had even moisturised.

Repurchase?: Nope!
