The newest addition to my lipstick collection is MAC Syrup this is one which has been on my hit list for a relatively short time, and I couldn’t resist picking this up recently (pre-spending ban I promise) when I had the opportunity to pick something from MAC for a hefty discount.
MAC Syrup was a colour which kept getting talked about by big youtubers and bloggers at the start of the year. Syrup is a lustre formulation, which is one which I haven’t had from MAC before (in the 20ish lipsticks I have from them, that’s a big surprise to me!), on the lips this feels rich, creamy and moisturising.
I was a little disappointed as on others this seemed to be a deep plum based nude, however it’s not a super pigmented shade and picks up on the colour of your natural lips – so I suppose I’m only to blame for not having the same shade lips as others. Never-the-less this is still a beautiful shade, because it’s so creamy it’s not the longest lasting but it does make for a very comfortable wear throughout the day.
I would still say this has a purple-pink undertone, it’s a very wearable shade and the slight sheen on the lustre finish catches the light nicely. With subtle stripped back makeup I can see this becoming a firm favourite in my summer makeup routine very quickly! It’s a quick and easy formula to apply on the go and I like that it seems to pair with most eye looks as a natural lip with just the slightest touch of pink. As a result the MAC Syrup Lipstick has ended up living in my handbag as it’s a colour I can generally use to reapply no matter what eye look I’ve chosen for the day has been.
Have you tried the MAC Syrup Lipstick? If you have any other lustre formulations you would recommend please let me know, I love this one!
