Glossybox December 2014

Regular readers of my blog will know that last month I said November’s would be my last Glossybox… So this will come as a surprise that I’m reviewing December’s offering. Well turns out I cancelled too late, mainly because I received it so late last month! But this is it, I have 100% unsubscribed, and I’m kind of glad that I received the Christmas Edition as my last as they’re usually my favourite.

I love this festive edition print, and was looking forward to seeing all the December themed goodies that were going to be inside. Now surprisingly on opening I was disappointed to see that – bar one – they weren’t all that festive.

Tresemme Revive Scalp & Hair Treatment

I’ve never tried this as I don’t really suffer with scalp problems, however my boyfriend suffers terribly with a bad scalp so he’s going to be snatching this from me as soon as he sees it.

All That Jazz –  Andrulla’s Black Cherry On Top

A nail brand I haven’t heard of is a pleasant rarity, and something which excites me greatly. Definitely the festive product of the box. First impressions of this is that it’s an amazing colour – it’s already on my nails, it arrived just as I was about to paint!

Skin Pep Hydra Boost Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum

I’ve had some skin pep products in past glossyboxes, this is very much a premium brand, so I’m glad to see a decent sized sample compared to several small sachets from a previous box. Claiming to help promote a healthy new skin glow.

Bellapierre Cheek and Lip Tint in ‘Coral’

This is the ‘dud’ product for me – I haven’t tried a bellapierre product that I’ve liked. I tried to swatch this to photograph and it just didn’t show up on my skin – great sign!

Anatomicals Spot Treatment aka zap! zap! zap! get’s that chap!

I don’t actually currently own anything like this – which I should for emergencies. I love anatomicals products for their quirky packaging, and I like the products too. This is a two in one dual ended day and night spot treatment, with a dofur applicators on each side.

Whilst the products aren’t wholey as festive as I would have liked, I’m glad I did get this box. I feel like we’re parting on good terms, it’s been a good breakup. Almost enough to convince me to reconsider our relationship. But it’s just one month amongst a sea of disappointment. From the past year this is one of the few I’ve actually liked so in perspective, it’s not enough to make me resub. Maybe I will resubscribe in the future and I will keep my eyes on other people’s reviews of future boxes to see if they up their game enough in my opinion to try them out again.

I can’t wait to receive My Little Box this month, hopefully that won’t be too far behind!

I loved my Glossybox this month, but you are right- it didn’t feel festive. Can’t wait to see your My Little Box review. Subscribing next year after all christmas spendings are out of the way
