Ten Empties #32

Ten Empties #32

My Empties box has been neglected over the past few months so I’ll have two posts following in quick succession to one another as I just wanted to have a clear out and get the majority of it into the recycling over the weekend as I was having a tidy up! This first one has a lot of products across the board to trial.

Makeup

Too Faced Funfetti Mocha Freeze Lip Gloss
I got this in a beauty box a couple of years ago, but not being a gloss girl I don’t use them very often. This has been one I’ve gravitated to a fair bit when I’ve wanted a gloss – it’s got enough pigment that on bare lips it gives a slight tinge of colour, but it’s only delicate so if worn over a lipstick or liquid lip it doesn’t give enough colour to alter the. Nice formula, glossy but not sticky, not the longest wearing (but when is gloss?).
Repurchase? This was a limited edition collection, but I’d be tempted to check out their other glosses in future.

Stila Stay All Day Brow Pencil
Insert Sad Face
This was my last one of these which I’m pretty sure has been discontinued, I mostly picked these up at my local outllet but they seem to have ran out of the dark brown shade, although I do keep my eye out every time I go past. Fab pencil, lasts all day and a nice thin nib.
Repurchase? Will if I can, but pretty sure it’s a gonner.

Skincare

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Solution
Many of you will know this has been a massive journey to finish this up – I started committing to finishing this up last year and it took forever. It’s really strong Glycolic that for some reason despite keeping to hand on my bedside table I just barely reached for it, I’ve finally managed it and it won’t be coming back in my collection, ever.
Repurchase? No

Pixi Rose Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths | Gifted | Review
I was kindly sent these alongside the Pixi Rose line, these were okay, but one of my least favourite from the line. I’m not a big wipes girl – but found these kind of dry, as a result I didn’t find they really melted makeup down, they were okay – but more expensive than the average wipe.
Repurchase? No

Fourth Ray AM to the PM Gel Cleanser and Fourth Ray BFD Cleansing Oil | Review
I got this duo with a colourpop order and liked putting both to the test! The Gel Cleanser was good for a gel cleanser and thought it performed well. I particularly liked the formula of the cleansing oil, again they don’t tend to be my favourite but I found that it worked well and didn’t leave residue behind whilst still managing to feel nourishing.
Repurchase? AM to the PM, No – BFD Cleansing Oil, Maybe

Body Care

Imperial Leather Cherry Blossom and Peony Hand Wash
We seem to finish this off so quickly! I think I may have also been giving it a cheeky dose on makeup sponges sometimes as I found it was good at removing foundation, I’ve already repurchased this, it’s affordable, smells nice and is a good size bottle. Often found on offer at Wilkos on a 2 for £1.80 deal, I paired up this time with a shower gel.
Repurchase? Already have!

Boots Zingy Coconut and Almost Shower Gel
I recently hauled this and it’s one that’s gone down very well with Ben in the shower, he’s been using it a lot! I originally picked this up for my in-laws as they always have these kind of scents in the shower and thought they’d enjoy it when they come to stay – I’ll have to grab another bottle and keep it separate for them next time! Again a cheap range from Boots and I’m enjoying finishing up another bottle I hauled at the same time that’s Raspberry and Pomegranate!
Repurchase? Yes

The Body Shop Strawberry Shower Gel Mini Gifted
Received in an event goody bag, I’ve been making my way through a bunch of minis I was gifted at Christmas. This scent from TBS is a classic, but probably my least favourite from the whole line. I find strawberry scents very sickly, and this one is no exception. I used it up – but I was happy to see it go, I much prefer the citrus scents from The Body Shop – or my beloved Harvest Peach!
Repurchase? Not this scent, but others yes.

Sure Maximum Protection Confidence Deodorant
I pick this up when I can’t get hold of Mitchum in shops as this is normally available within it’s place. I like this and find it pretty much the same effectiveness wise as Mitchum, but I find I need to use more of it and I finish it a lot faster.
Repurchase? Yes, but still prefer Mitchum

Extras

Lime Body Wash
Picked up in part of the hotel we stayed at in June, it got bought home and I finished it off.

Elie Saab White EDP
I was sent this as a sampling service online (not related to blogging) – this came as such a surprise and went down well with Ben who complimented it on the few wears I managed to get out of it. It’s a lovely floral scent that smells clean with the slightest hint of fruit.

Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal in Paris EDP
I enjoyed this too! The original was my sisters wedding perfume recently and I’d not tried the JPG perfumes on myself, this was nice and has a warm honey top note that compliments fresh pear and jasmine.

I’ll catch you up on my totals finished for the year so far in my next empties which should be up later in the week as I’ve ended up inputting them all into my spreadsheet at the same time, and I’ve hit a big milestone!
