Boots & Beauty Pie Haul – May 2019

Boots & Beauty Pie Haul – May 2019

It felt like it had been ages since I’d done a haul – but in fact I’d done two in March (which got posted in April) so it’s not been that long at all! I have however been a lot better at buying less this year for the most part just restocking on consumables whilst I try to make my way through my stash at the same time. This was mostly a restock of products in my stash, things I was starting to get low on!

Skincare

Garnier Micellar Water
We won’t talk long about this as if you’ve been following me for any length of time, you’ll know this is a long time favourite. I hazard a guess that I’ve been through 20 bottles of these since it launched. I definitely go through it slower than I used to as I’m much better at actually using cleansers in the evening rather than always this. I am still trying to finish off the Milky one – but I’m not liking using it around my eyes whilst I have lash extensions on at the moment, so I thought I’d pick this up now!

Beauty Pie Jeju Daily Cleansing Milk
Out of everything from this haul it was probably the one I didn’t need as I still have a fair few cleansers to finish off, but it was a new range from Beauty Pie, I’d had a good experience testing the another three from BP  (which are now all finished) and I wanted to make the postage worthwhile so I decided to give this a try. This looks like a cream cleanser with a pump and I’m already looking forward to trying this out once I’ve finished my last dregs up of my current samples.

YourGoodSkin Refreshing Face Wash
Another cleanser! Technically, I didn’t buy this I won it as I checked out which was a lovely little touch from Boots. For those who asked on Instagram when I posted about it, I don’t know how or why I won, did I even enter something? No Idea, but thanks for the free cleanser. I’ve had a hit and miss experience with this line from Boots so far, but this sounds nice so I have semi-high hopes.

Beauty Pie Uber Youth Eye Cream
I finished off my Drunk Elephant eye cream and only had a small 3ml sample left in my stash, so I thought I’d better stock up! I was going to get 3 eye creams from Beauty Pie and do a comparison post like I did with the cleansers I tried previously – but they only had one in stock. I’m going to keep my eyes peeled for the other two as I’d still like to do that, but at least I have one I can start putting to the test!

Bodycare

Boots Zesty Pomegranate and Raspberry & Coconut and Almond Shower Gels
It’s been a long time since I actually had to buy a shower gel. I decided to opt for these as they were just 75p each, and they had a bonus points offer for 50ps worth of points when you bought two from the range. I was down to my last bottle of shower gel, so I needed to get some more! The Pomegranate and Raspberry one smelt amazing – I was almost tempted to get two. I decided to get the coconut and almond one for Ben’s parents as that’s the kind of scent my MIL opts for in her shower and they’ll often look after the dogs for the weekend while we go away, so I might put this in “their” room at ours to make sure they always have some! I woudn’t normally mention, but they’re well worth a sniff!

Makeup

NYX Proof It Eyeshadow Primer
My WetnWild photofocus eye primer is on it’s very last legs and whilst I was incredibly tempted to pick up the Fenty eye primer, I decided to wait it out and stagger my Fenty Purchases a little… This one was well reviewed on Boots online, it was budget friendly and most curiously it claims to make eyeshadow waterproof. You betcha there will be a review coming on this.

Beauty Pie Superbrow Precision Pencil in Perfect Brown
This looked to be a really close shade to my beloved Stila Brow Pencil which I believe to be being discontinued. My shade seems to be out of stock in the shops around me which stock it, and I’ve been starting to hunt out a replacement. I was almost tempted to order a few of these on the assumption that I’d like it as the reviews were very positive, but I thought I’d better check the colour was right first before I went in too deep and have 6 that were the wrong colour!

Fenty Foundation in 200 Cool
I’ve previously had a bottle of this foundation when Fenty first launched, I loved the formula and at the time I declared it in my top 2 foundations of all time – alongside KVD, who I will now never buy from again. Some will remember that when I used this every day it gave me deep, painful breakouts and that’s why I never went back to it. So why am I going back? My now favourite foundation is the Jouer one – and that foundation reminds me most of this, the Jouer one is great and I LOVE it, but it’s more £ and you get less ml – so I wanted to go back to this, compare and take notes and see if they are similar. I will be treading very carefully with this to begin with using it no more than one day a week to monitor changes in my skin – as *touch wood* – I’ve only had two blemishes since Christmas. *Crosses fingers that this is still the right colour for me*

Beauty Pie Bio Infusion Breathable Primer
I’d noticed I was starting to run low on face primer so I decided to pick this up with my order, and again – it had pretty good reviews online so I thought it was worth a whirl and didn’t do any research other than seeing that it had a decent star rating on the website! Totally blind to how this might work on my oily complexion – but it claims to be “Micro smoothing” (what ever that means), flawless finish and ultra light. After putting a little on the back of my hand I can confirm at the very least the last point is true!

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Primer
I thought I’d splash some Boot’s points on some Fenty (WHICH IF YOU DIDN’T KNOW BIG NEWS, FENTY. BOOTS. NOW). I’ve heard good things about this from just about every skintype which has had me curious for a while. My friend Molly loves it and I’ve heard good things from a Youtuber who seems to have a very simliar skintype to me, so it was worth a try. They describe this as a soft matte finish and I’m looking forward to trying it. I might seek out another primer to do a comparison review – maybe something super cheap in comparison. Any suggestions let me know!

Hope you have better luck with the Fenty foundation this time round! Maybe using it with the primer will help, the primer does sound really nice!

I have just started to use the Micellar water and am really enjoying it so far. It’s really gentle and is great at taking my makeup off x
