Colourpop Haul – April 2019

Colourpop Haul – April 2019

I said in my collective haul last week that I had another Colourpop order on its way! The day after I’d got that post photographed and scheduled this all arrived, it probably would have been too large a post to include them all together anyway, but I love seeing hauls and seeing why people decided to spend their money on certain items as sometimes it gives me inspiration for myself.

I was tempted to place a second Colourpop Haul just a month after my last thanks to them running a 20% offer which was available on most of their items, but there were a handful that I picked that were brand new items that were excluded from the promotion. This ended up being a group order so I shared the postage and custom duty costs with a few friends and it arrived in one big box to my work.

BFF Volumising Mascara

Both Lora and Soph who I was ordering with put this in their orders, so I decided to go for one too. Honestly, at this moment in time I really didn’t need another mascara, I have loads in my stash piled up and ready to use, but I didn’t want them telling me it was the most amazing mascara ever and I’d regretted not picking it up! I’ve heard good and bad things about this from youtubers, but it’s got a hourglass wand, it’s volumising which is generally what I like – so I thought it was worth a go!

Lux Lipstick in Spring Roll

I’ve long been on the hunt for a replacement for my original MAC Brave lipstick and this looked close online. It’s definitely along the same lines and is one of the closest that I’ve found – it’s a neutral with a slightly peachy undertone. Swatches online of this are very mixed it seems to look really pink in some swatches – but luckily Colourpop’s own pictures didn’t mislead me! I really like the Lux Lipstick formula, I’ve reviewed a few in the past which you can find here if you’re curious!  This is a new addition to the line from the Spring “Sweet Talk” limited edition collection.

Lippie Stix in Sike

I know what you’re thinking – that looks practically the same as the last lipstick and you’re right – it’s arrived and they are more similar than anticipated. I spotted this in the clearance section and I didn’t want to miss it being the perfect match for my old one. This one has a little more peach pigment so leans a bit less neutral than Spring Roll does, but it’s still a lovely colour and one which I think will get a lot of wear from!

It’s My Pleasure Eyeshadow Palette

I had the first two nine pan palettes that Colourpop released last year (Mar and Sol – reviews found here) and they made it to my year end favourites post as they were complete stand outs from the year. So when I spotted that there was some new palettes added and I had to get them. I’ve been loving bright monochromatic looks on other people and I’d been eyeing the Huda 9 palettes of (which I do have one of, and don’t like the formula of anywhere near as much as these).
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll already see that I’ve been using this one a lot already – I’ve been really drawn to purple recently and this one did not disappoint. A full review is already on it’s way for Friday!

Just My Luck Eyeshadow Palette

I’ve lusted after an Emerald Green eyeshadow palette for a while- this one wasn’t quite what I was after as the shades lean more towards a bluer kerry green, but I couldn’t not get it knowing how much I liked the other bright palettes last summer. I’ve not played around with this one as much yet, but I look forward to having a good play!

Ooh La La Eyeshadow Palette

Last but not least from the palettes was Ooh La La, and it’s a lovely selection of pinks. This one is more matte shades than shimmer, but it does have a beautiful few shades in. Some of the colours in here stand out to me as permanent – as I know I have a pan of Sandbar – but still I love that all of these colours are together and I can create a bright and fun colourful pink eye with this. Again I think this is another which will get a lot of use through the summer.

Pressed Powder Shadow in Imperial

This is a nice peachy terracotta matte shade which I thought would work really complimentary with some of the shades in my mostly Makeup Geek singles palette which has been neglected for a while and I needed something to make me pull it back out!
Swatches top to bottom – Pressed Single Shadow in Imperial, Lippie Stix in Sike, Lux Lipstick in Spring Roll.

And that’s it from this Colourpop Haul – reviews for a lot of these products are already in the works. I’m really excited about the eyeshadow palettes, I can’t wait to play with them, swatches for those will come in full in those posts.
What have you treated yourself to lately?

I’ve yet to try anything from colourpop. It is on my radar of brands to try one day. The last thing I treated myself to was getting my hair done at a hairdresser for the first time in years. Plus some decent hair products.

Ooh fab – I’m having my hair cut and coloured in a few weeks time – I’ve been overdue a visit too! hair hasn’t been cut in a year! What did you have done?

The Ooh La La and It’s My Pleasure palettes look stunning! I do like palettes that have at least a mix of shimmers and mattes rather than a predominantly matte palette. If I could combine shades from Ooh La La and It’s My Pleasure I’d be happy haha, looking forward to Friday’s review. The green palette is different and will look lovely on you!

Same – I need both mattes and shimmers for my eye looks and I way prefer when they have a mix of finishes. It’s my pleasure does have some pinky tones in it, so maybe that one out of the two would be better if you were interested! I’ve not worn the green palette yet – or even swatched it yet, I might give that a go today!

I agree if I was to get one of the palettes It’s My Pleasure would probably be it! Hope you like the green palette 💚

I love a good colourpop haul! I hope you end up loving the palettes. I picked up the Flower SZN lux lipstick and I love it! It seems more matte than the usual creme finish is but I don’t mind too much.

I’ve had a mixture of the lux lipstics – I’ve got 5 now and even the ones which look more matte seem to still feel creamy and comfortable.

I’m waiting for the next sale. I want the Brown Sugar & Good Sport palettes & a few single shadows.
Most recently for myself, I’ve picked up a couple brush sets & Colour Festival palette from BH Cosmetics & the Get Feverish palette from LA Girl.

    • April 11, 2019 / 8:53 am

My friend ordered the brown sugar palette as part of the same order – it looks great and if you use neutrals a lot it’s the perfect palette to travel with. I ordered the Good sport palette previously but it didn’t end up arriving – they dispatched the highlighter palette from the same collection, they wouldn’t resend and just refunded so I’ve not ended up reordering!
I’ve heard great things about the colour festival plalette!

I’ve been using Colour Festival all week and liking it so far. Should have a review in another week or so.
I’m kinda over the neutrals thing but there’s a couple shades in Brown Sugar that are nothing like what I own that they don’t offer as single shadows.
