Glossybox December 2018 – All That Glitters

Glossybox December 2018 – All That Glitters

If it’s one time of year I’ll always stick around for a beauty box for it’s Christmas. For some reason they always seem to be that little bit better at Christmas and the Glossybox December 2018 did not disappoint. This is only my second box after a long hiatus from the service. I’ll admit that I took a peek at the contents online (as mine seemed to take forever to arrive!) and I was a bit regretful I’d not cancelled. However on it’s arrival I’m more pleasantly surprised by the contents than I thought I would be.

The Glossybox December 2018 box is fantastically festive, it’s a gorgeous matte bright red adorned in shiny gold confetti pattern and the box name (and theme!) All That Glitters emblazoned across the top. Inside the gold and red theme continues with red tissue paper and filling with a gorgeous glittery metallic ribbon wrapped around the contents. It would make a fabulous box for rewrapping to gift to someone, but for me it’s staying well and truly put and may well become my box for present wrapping accessories such as ribbons and bows!

Bellapierre Shimmer Roll in Champagne (Full Size) – RRP £19.99

I believe this was the item included in everyone’s boxes in this edition. This is a multi use roll on shimmer that can be used on the body, face and eyes. I’d never consider buying a product like this as I normally find they don’t apply evenly at all but this one surprised me! I can’t see this being a product I’d use on my eyes (but if you’re into super quick looks it’s not a bad option, just not my cup of tea!) or the body, but I think this would make a gorgeous highlight.

Imperial Leather Cosmic Unicorn Shower Gel (Full Size) – RRP £1.99

I’d never have picked this up to even smell it on the shelf, presuming it would be sickly sweet and probably smelling of some bakery goods but this one actually doesn’t. It’s citrusy with Pink Grapefruit and floral. It has a shimmering pearl effect and the 28 year old in me is a little sad it’s covered in unicorns but at least the scent isn’t the opposite of what I like!

Vitamasques Cosmic Pink Ruby Glitter Peel Off Mask (Full Size) – RRP £4.99

I’ve always avoided glitter face masks, assuming that they’d be somewhat gimmicky – and don’t get me wrong, I think that it’s completely unnecessary. This one however at least has a promising list of ingredients from Vitamasques and this made in Korea mask. The mask contains Rosehip oil, Ruby and Diamond Powders (fancy huh!?). It’s a paraben free, mineral oil free, animal cruelty free and vegan friendly formula. I’ll report back on this in a Face Mask Friday.

Doucce Relentless Lip Crayon in Winterberry (Full Size) – RRP £16.95

Doucce is a brand which I’ve seen a lot in beauty boxes but never tried for myself. I must admit that the branding has never really appealed to me but swatching this the quality seems gorgeous of this. It’s the perfect Christmas darkened berry red shade in a comfortable creamy matte finish.

Niko Pro Liquid Jelly Blush in Bali – RRP £12.00

Lastly another item I’d have never have been likely to try – Niko Pro is a completely new-to-me brand and I’ve also never been for liquid or gel face products. This one is such an interesting texture. It’s a really pretty shimmering peach and has that similar effect to NARS orgasm but in a more peach tone.

MayBeauty The Incredible Pore Strip with Charcoal – RRP £3.50

This was the bonus item this month was this, always handy to have in the cupboard. I find these usually very hit and miss in terms of performance. I’ve not heard of the brand Maybeauty previously – so I’ll report back in an empties as to how well these worked (or didn’t!).

Overall I think that the Glossybox December 2018 box took me by surprise in person and I like the mix of sparkly body and skincare paired with shimmering makeup too. I thought this would be my last month but I have to say I’m left a little bit intrigued by what January’s might bring. This edition is sold out already and had been since November. If you want to give Glossybox a try you can get 20% off your first box using my referral code which you can find by clicking on here.  Which will make your first box £8 + delivery.
