A Long Overdue Boots Haul – October 2018

A Long Overdue Boots Haul – October 2018

Forgive me father for I had sinned! Can you believe I haven’t posted a Boots haul all year? Backtracking over my past posts there has been a definite slip in full blown hauls this year as I’ve been on the biggest clearout, useup mission. My last Boots haul was now over a year a go.

Over the weekend Boots had a deal where you got 21 points per pound if you spent over (21 points converts to 21p for my non-UK readers) so a fifth of your spend you got back as points, pretty good I thought. This also coincided with their launch of finally stocking Pixi Skincare, which they also launched with a third off. I think it’s obvious where this ended up going as I had a Boots voucher left over from my Birthday too…

Pixi Rose Tonic 250ml
Normal Price £18.00 / Introductory Price £12.00

I had a sample of this in the past and I really enjoyed it so I decided to try the full size version too.  I found it more of a nice gentle toner which felt calming on my skin and had a nice Rose scent. I have a big Glow Tonic I was kindly gifted by M&S and decided it would be good to do a comparison on all three that Pixi do. So on that note…

Pixi Retinol Tonic 250ml
Normal Price £18.00 / Introductory Price £12.00

I’ve been wanting to get into Retinol products a bit more and this seemed like a good opportunity to pick up Pixi’s. I’ve not tried this yet as it’s one of the newest additions to the range but I’ve heard positive things about it being a good introductory product to Retinol that’s not too intense for a first experiment with it.

Pixi Rose Glow Mist
Normal Price £16.00 / Introductory Price £10.67

I’ve been wanting to try their mists for some time, I know my friend Molly had a good experience with them in the past and I’ve spritzed them many a time in various stores and decided to grab one – it was a bit of a random allocation as to which I wanted to try but decided to roll with a bit of a rose theme as I started thinking about doing a photo for instagram (okay, so I’m that person now!).

Pixi Rose Oil Blend
Normal Price £26.00 / Introductory Price £17.33

This is a product that I’ve wanted to try many times after seeing it in store and it’s looked and smelt lovely. This sealed the deal with thinking of a photograph for instagram as there would be three rose products and with plenty of rose petals in my garden to choose from… it was a no brainer haha. This was more of a un-needed treat to myself but I’m really struggling with getting scars to fade at the moment, but rosehip oil is meant to be really good for that so I thought it would be worth at try.

Pixi Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse
Normal Price £24.00/ Introductory Price £16.00

I couldn’t get this online as it was already out of stock so I hunted it down in store, this was a restock for me and I’ve reviewed this in the past. I’ve started doing list of my 2018 favourites and this has made the cut, so I wanted to restock for that post later in the year!

Garnier Ultimate Blends Yoghurt Hair Mask
Normal Price £4.99 / Offer £3.33

I haven’t had a hair mask for ages, this was just spotted in the new introductions section but the whole ultimate blends range was discounted. I haven’t used anything from the Almond Crush range before, I didn’t really research whether this might have been the best for my hair type, but the price was decent so I threw it in the bag!

Bayliss and Harding Lemon Blossom and White Rose Hand Soap
£2.15

Our new house has a lot more sinks (five in total) than what our current house does and I’ve been looking out for nice looking hand soaps that won’t cost the earth. I really liked the design of this and considered buying a few more, but I decided to buy one and go and stock up if I ended up liking the smell. Good news is I do like the smell, and I find the Bayliss and Harding hand soaps last forever.

Wet Brush Shower Flex Brush
£11.99

I’ve been wanting a shower hairbrush for ages and just kind of stumbled across this on the websites, my hair is incredibly tangly and just about the only thing which can tame it is the Wet Brush. I wanted one for when I want to take a bit longer in the bath, paired with that hair mask I suspect it could be a treat – wait for a new in the shower post for me to talk about how these ended up working for me!

And that’s it for my little online Boots spree, the points event meant I earned back £14 of points – I had £28 left on a gift card so all in all, things weren’t too bad.
Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products in the comments and what you’ve been buying recently!

Ahh, I’ve been wanting to try Pixi products for a while but they don’t sell them in Lithuania… I’ll need to look for them while I’m still in Budapest. Thanks for the post!

These seem like great products. That Wet Brush sounds like something I might use. Also, that hand soap seems great.

The Garnier hair mask sounds nice, can’t wait to hear what you think of it! Hope your new Wet Brush works well, love the purple colour! Looking forward to seeing what makes the cut for your 2018 favourites post 🙂

The hair mask so far has been pretty good, it’s not the best thing I’ve used but it’s a budget hair mask and seems effective for the price it’s at!
