Ten Empties #17

Ten Empties #17

My second lot of empties for the week, genuinely looking over my collection and the stuff I’m currently using day to day I’m not sure when the next one will be coming. I do however seem to being going through shower based haircare at rapid fire at the moment, with this heat I’m finding I’m back to washing my hair every other day and the bottles seem to be emptying super quick!

Haircare

Schwarzkopf Gliss Supreme Lengths Conditioner
After a good experience with the Shine Gliss conditioner I decided to try another one from the line and I really liked this one too. This was a peony scented one but it smelt a bit like parma violets, floral mixed with a sherbetty scent. I enjoyed this conditioner too, I didn’t notice too much difference between whether one was better than another, but I’m glad to find a cheap one that’s good, they are smaller than average bottles though so I find in less than two weeks I’ve finished this up at current hair wash speed!
Repurchase? Yes, but I’m trying a different one from the line next

Herbal Essences Bio:Renew White Grapefruit and Mint Conditioner
I’ve been exploring this line most of the year and I’ve almost tried all of the line at this point. This wasn’t the worst conditioner from the line but it did sit somewhere towards the bottom. Like the rest of the line it smelt amazing, but was distinctly average in terms of it’s performance.
Repurchase? No

Percy and Reed Volumising Dry Shampoo
I really enjoyed this dry shampoo as a texturising spray, when I was on second day curls this did a good job of re-zhuzhing my roots with volume whilst soaking up any oils at the same time. It’s pricier than I would rebuy for myself at £15… but if it wants to turn up in a beauty box again it will very happily be received.
Repurchase? No, but I did enjoy it.

Schwarzkopf Got2B Fresh It Up Dry Shampoo (review)
This is my new favourite dry shampoo, I do think I go through this quicker than my other favourite Aussie despite being the same sized can I think it’s got a more powerful jet, however it’s more than half the price so it will easily balance out overall. I really enjoyed this, it reminds me of batiste but where Batiste doesn’t brush out in my hair this one does.
Repurchase? Already have.

Lee Stafford Heat Protection Spray
This is a product that I’ve been using for over ten years, it’s a heat protector that I always go back to. I don’t feel like you ever know if a heat protector works, but if it doesn’t do anything at least this one from Lee Stafford smells amazing. I have some other products that are dual purpose with heat protectors in so don’t need to repurchase one at the moment, but this is likely going to be a product I revisit until they stop making it.
Repurchase? Yes

Philip Kingsley Coconut Breeze Elasticizer
Yay I finished one of these blasted tubes up. Surprise this still does nothing for me. Good news was it made my hair smell of coconut.
Repurchase? No

Makeup

Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer (review)
I got on well with this concealer and thought that it was decent for the price, it’s very deceptive in it’s size though as it looks like it’s got a lot in it but the space for the product in the thick walled acrylic tube and the fat wand doesn’t leave much space for projectI like it, but I don’t think it’s the best thing since sliced bread like some suggest.
Repurchase? Yes, but no need to immediately

Maybelline Collosal Volume Mascara (review)
This used to me my old time ultimate favourite mascara but since I’ve revisited it, it’s nothing special. The mascara has a decent wear time, but it’s not volumising enough for me. Not bad, I managed to finish up but there’s better out there for the price IMO, I prefer Lash Sensational to this.
Repurchase? No

General Consumables

stylPro Makeup Brush Cleanser (review)
I wasn’t sure whether to class this one under makeup, but I’ve decided it’s more of a consumable.  This is a makeup cleaning fluid to be used with the StylPro gadget for cleaning makeup brushes. This works really well with the gadget but would be difficult to use well without it. I have other things I can use with this and trial some more inexpensive options as this is quite expensive to repurchase.
Repurchase? Maybe

Bodycare

The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Shower Gel
This is my favourite scent from The Body Shop it seems to be one which comes back every few seasons but at the moment it seems to be out of production. I’ll always go back to this when it becomes available.
Repurchase? Yes!

The Lee Stafford heat protectant spray sounds like it does a good job at what it says on the tin, when I’m finished my current one from TREsemme I might look that this 🙂 Vineyard Peach is another scent from The Body Shop I need to sniff!

My hairdresser goes mad if I use Herbal Essences, they hate the stuff haha! I’m always on the hunt for the peach collection in my local store, but they never seem to have it- hopefully it comes back around soon!xx

I don’t like the normal herbal essences line but the Bio Renew line is much softer on the hair and doesn’t contain as much…. shit ingredients! My local one is an outlet so sometimes I find something that’s end of line in there but it’s not always around. Worth a sniff when you find it!

It’s mediocre, spending a pound or two more gets you much better IMO! Haha Yay, I’ve nearly finished my 100052348th one!

I need to try Vineyard Peach, you’ve spoken about it so many times and I tend to like the fruit scents from TBS. I see it listed on the US site.

Do you find that you go through their shower gels fairly quickly? I always feel like I need to use more of them per wash than with other brands, curious to know if it’s just me!

No actually I find their shower gels last forever – it takes me a long time to finish a bottle of The Body Shop ones!I love the scent of it. I wouldn’t normally put myself as a peach fan but there’s something about that one which is lovely!
