Ten Empties #16

Ten Empties #16

I’ve been a bit MIA over the past few weeks as I’ve been really busy over the weekends and I’ve not been finding enough hours to catch up on blogging. As a result I’ve had a pile of empties amass, so much so that I have two lots worth of ten to share with you this week.

Makeup

W7 Set It Up Setting Powder
I put this in my products I wont to use up just last week, whilst I knew I was close to the end I didn’t expect that I would be finished with it quite so soon! I mentioned in that post that I really like this as a cheap setting powder, it’s unoffensive, mattifying but not drying and is completely transluscent.

MAC Fix Plus Travel Size
Since I transferred this out to my empty Glamglow spray packaging this has been much better. The formula of this setting spray isn’t bad, whilst it isn’t my favourite, I certianly prefer it a lot more now it’s been decantered into a finer mister.
Repurchase? I don’t plan on it, but it is a bit easier to get hold of than glamglow so maybe!

Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mini (Review)
I’m split on this mascara, this is definitely my favourite from Benefit that I’ve tried but it won’t be for anyone. The mascara is definitely one for those with shorter lashes rather than short. If you check my review you’ll see it does a good job of lengthening and volumising. However given this was half the size of normal this formula towards the end it stopped being transfer resistant.
Repurchase? No

Haircare

Pureology Strength Cure Shampoo and Conditioner (review)
I’ve had this set that I keep outside of the shower and pick out to use when my hair needs an extra boost for a few weeks or I have a special occasion. Whenever my hair has become damaged this has been the best job of actively hiding repair. It was getting so close to finishing these off I decided to not hold onto the last dregs and get it finished before we left and what a difference this has made over the past week or so.
Repurchase? Yes, but not immediately.

Bodycare

The Body Shop Satsuma Hand Cream
Not too much to say on this… a great light hand cream that was taken to work and used up pretty swiftly my me and my friend Sian who both liked this scent. One less hand cream in the collection (Taking them to work has helped get through them and my hands are much better as a result!) but I will come back to this in the future, for now I have plenty.
Repurchase? Yes, but not immediately.

Beauty Formula Intensive Foot Cream
Ben purchased this for me to give my feet some love and personally I don’t think it made any more difference than any old body lotion would have. It was such a thin feeling formula that it didn’t eel like it had enough to it to make it sink into the skin – even heavily dosed overnight with fluffy socks left on. There’s other foot creams I need to use but I wouldn’t run to get this one again!
Repurchase? No

Skincare

Marks and Spencer Formula Hyaluronic Acid Thermal Exfoliator Polish
I never got around to reviewing it, I thought I’d taken pictures of it and had it prepared and ready to go and by the time I’d realised I hadn’t the packaging was so smushed like the above! This was a clay based exfoliating product that had a fine amount of scrub like partlcles. The clay heats up as massaged into the face but the effect of the thermal is so short lived it barely feels worth it being there, within four-five seconds it’s gone back to normal temperature. The clay based formula was nice and moisturising and didn’t feel aggressive on the skin, whilst the thermal effect isn’t as dominate as I would have liked I would consider buying it again. This has gone out of stock online, i’m not sure whether it’s gone-gone or just temporarily gone, it’s worth a try though if you see it and like a scrub that isn’t as harsh.
Repurchase? Maybe… if I can!

Garnier Micellar Water
I don’t need to talk about this too much! But this is my favourite micellar water, this one took me much longer to go through than normal, I’m surprised that this has only been bottle number two of the year!
Repurchase? Already have!

Florapy Calendula Sage Sheet Mask (review)
Recently reviewed so I won’t dwell on this too much – this broke me out horrendously. Interesting texture interesting concept but this one from the range wasn’t for me!
Repurchase? No

Extras

Crystal Clear Soothing Cleansing Gel
This has been in my cupboard since I worked in TV Shopping and snagged it in a staff sale in a bauble of minis… I ended up putting this to the test on my face and wasn’t too keen so it ended up as a brush cleanser instead.

Eco.fresh Body Hand and Body Moisturiser
Another teeny sample size of this finished. 100 more to go.

DKNY Stories Perfume Sampler
I got this from Boots as surprise through the mail, this sampler was interesting it had a floral and baby powderesque quality but also a vibe to it that made it feel very classic. Wouldn’t buy it but don’t hate it, definitely something a bit different and it wasn’t was what I was expecting from DKNY based on the packaging.

Colgate Max White Toothpaste
Ben purchased this for me as it’s his favourite toothpaste, it’s not mine it has a very grainy texture to it. Like exfoliator for the teeth!

Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense
I’ve had a few samples of this before and always really liked it… this one is no different. Top tip for samples like this if there’s too much or one day, put a safety pin through the packaging so you an squeeze it out without it turning! I recently heard that and it’s a game changer.

Aussie Three Minute Miracle
One of my favourite conditioners which I’ve not had in a while so it got used up as soon as I had it!

Satsuma is one of the few hand creams/ranges from The Body Shop I don’t think I’ve tried – will have to give it the sniff test when I’m next in store! I want to try MAC Fix+ at some point, I’m not fussy when it comes to mister nozzles (I don’t think) but I have heard relatively good things about the actual product 🙂 you are a machine with empties Rachael! xx

Oh it’s a gorgeous scent sweet but with the sharp citrus! I wouldn’t say I’m fussy but the MAC Fix+ is quite a violent spray haha, it’s more of a jet than a mist!

I hope you know I wasn’t implying you’re fussy! Fix+ sounds good if you need a big hit of moisture then 😂

I’ve been trying to find a good spray bottle for my setting sprays to decant into too. For some reason all the ones I’d saved now don’t spray as finely. don’t know why.
That M&S HA Thermal Exfoliator Polish sounds lovely – I hope you’re able to repurchase it.
Why do you have so many samples of that Eco.fresh Body Hand and Body Moisturiser? 😆

The glamglow spray is an excellent spray as well as having a great mister, so far it’s lasting well for me too having refilled it three times with others!
I think there was only two of that eco.fresh one I found a pouch of stuff from a hotel and it had two of those in there… I think I’m through them now!

I love the sound of the Pureology shampoo and conditioner, it sounds like a great treat, especially considering the price. I love the Body Shop hand creams!xx
