Ten Empties #15

Ten Empties #15

At the moment I feel like all I’m writing is Empties posts, sorry about that, I’m not really testing a lot of new products at the moment or having time to do my makeup all fancy! So I’m slipping behind in reviews, packing for moving (I’m sick of mentioning it!) is well and truly under way now after a weekend spent at home emptying cupboards. In my last empties (which was just last week!) I said I thought it would be a while before my next but a load of products just crept up on me.

Body Care

Zoella Splash Boatanics Quench Me Body Sorbet (review)
It took me just over three weeks to finish this up, I bought it as I love body sorbets and I was stuck in a rut of not moisturising and wanted something to make me enjoy the process again. I did really enjoy this, I wish the scent was a bit stronger but it was nice for summer for something that would sink in quickly. Personally I prefer the body shop ones as I find them more long lasting (but also a bit more pricey), but I would recommend this if you’ve been thinking of trying.
Repurchase? Maybe, but unlikely.

Zoella Make A Splash Body Wash (review)
Another product I liked but went through very quickly from this range was this moisturising body wash. It was very moisturising but because it was so thick I found it didn’t spread very far so therefore I went through it in about 2 weeks, a bit abnormally quick for a body wash.
Repurchase? Maybe, if I saw it heavily discounted I would buy it again, but at full price it’s a no.

Polaar La Veritible Hand Cream (review)
This has been on my to-use up list for quite some time but have been failing miserably at using it at night, I decided to take it to work and finished it off quite quickly. Not my favourite hand cream as it was pretty much scentless but did work nicely. More pricey than I’d normally spend on a hand cream and I think there’s better out there. I do have an extra tube already in my stash which I could crack out, but for now I have other hand creams I’m going to try and use up before I go back to this one..
Repurchase? Unlikely

Crabtree and Evelyn Hand Recovery (review)
This was a complete hand saviour to me through the first half of the year, I had bad dry cracked cuticles and this sorted it out a treat. This is a moisturising handscrub that I used once or twice a week and it really helped. I don’t need to rebuy this now but if my hands turn bad again in winter I’ll definitely come back to it.
Repurchase? Yes

Fragrance

Zoella Snowella Body Mist
A mini from a Christmas set of fragrances and my-oh-my, this one was bad. This smelt like Pine toilet cleaner to me and was only used in dire needs to refresh my fragrance being kept in my handbag.
Repurchase? Limited Edition fragrance, but no.

Skincare

Superdrug Wake Me Up Caffeine Makeup Wipes
I bought these on a bit of a whim whilst shopping to give them a whirl and they were nothing too impressive. I didn’t find them more awakening than any other wipe.
Repurchase? Wouldn’t avoid, but wouldn’t seek them out either.

Tony Moly I’m Real Aloe Sheet Mask (review)
This was my last Face Mask Friday post, I found that this sheet mask wasn’t as instant in terms of it’s effects as I would normally expect but the next morning I found my skin had a real smooth improvement.
Repurchase? No

NIOD Multi Molecular Hyaluronic Complex 15ml
This was on my last Products I’m Trying to Use Up as I’m no longer buying from Deciem and want to see them gone from my collection. Given this was a small bottle and costing £25 I thought it was rubbish – I couldn’t notice what this did for me at all and I sped through this bottle in less than a month, it could have been any old moisturiser with HA content in it.
Repurchase? NOOOOOOOPE

Makeup

theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer
It’s FINALLY finished. I don’t know how many Products I’m Trying to Use Up this has been featured in but it must have been in one of the first ones I did. I had a bit of a love hate relationship with it and some foundations I found it didn’t blended well with, and others it worked fine with. It was at the middle of the price spectrum but it lasted well so I thought it was good value for money.
Repurchase? No because I became sick of the sight of it, and I have other bronzers I want to concentrate on next.

L’Oreal Super Liner Brow Artist Eyebrow Pencil
I got this in a beauty box YEARS ago and luckily it was the right shade for me. I’ve never been much of a brow pencil person but since Gimme Brow disappeared 6 months ago and was reformulated I turned to my brow pencils to finish up in the interim and this was one which basically took me since the start of my last Gimme Brow finishing until now to finish up. Ultra pigmented, dual ended with a clean up end which I didn’t reach for all that often, but I’m glad to see it’s finished off.
Repurchase? No

I canโ€™t believe how fast you got through the zoella bits – feels like only a week or so since you bought them! Well done on finally finishing Bahama Mama, Iโ€™m trying to finish up a bronzer in my collection and itโ€™s not going anywhere! xx

Great post! I love the packaging of Zoella’s products and I would love to try some products from The Balm, not necessarily the bronzer, but I would love to!

The pine toilet scent had me in stitched. I’ve been tempted to buy Zoella fragrances (some of them do smell nice), but I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be a total rip off (Advent Calendar, anyone?)

As for Polaar, I guess the price point is high for a hand cream, but I’ve been trying out their eye cream and I have to say I’m not disappointed (although it’s not a miracle worker either) (and at this points my eyes need a miracle)

The Balm is always very hit and miss imo.

I agree some of the Zoella fragrances are really pleasant, the products are budget friendly and I’ve had a good experience with them. Definitely not advent calendar status worthy.

I finished the eye cream last month and thought it was okay, but not fantastic
