Glamglow Setting Spray – The Setting Spray That Changed My Mind

Glamglow Setting Spray - Glowsetter

Setting Sprays – are just something in the past I’ve tried and tried to get along with and I’ve not been able to ever notice anything significantly positive that they bring to my routine. A few months ago I was shopping with my blog besties and Molly and Lora recommended this with rave reviews to me and basically led me to the cashier to purchase it and trial it out. Since then the Glamglow setting spray – Glowsetter has been on my face daily and as I’m drawing to the last quarter of my bottle I thought it was finally time to put pen to paper as this convinced me. And I’m guessing the title of this post is kinda a clue as to what I thought it would be!

So let’s meet the Glamglow Setting Spray

First off is the packaging is gorgeous, exactly what I’ve come to expect when it comes to Glamglow, bright punchy packaging, the bright pink shade stood out on the shelf at Boots and the chrome detail on the box is just as eye-catching too. The cardboard packaging from the outside is echoed straight through the the product itself.

This is a really good size to have in the handbag for on the go tucked away but is also a great size to try at 28ml if you’re unsure about the product. I’m sure like me you’ll be thinking that 28ml would not last you long, but this will be have used for 3-4 month almost daily.

The packaging is plastic and whilst it feels quality, it’s thin and makes it not too heavy for packing and carrying round in your makeup bag for keeping it as slimline and as light as possible. The same applied to the full 110ml size bottle too where it’s the same quality but just in bigger form. The best thing about this product’s packaging? The mister on the top, I’ve never come across a more fine mist on any product I’ve ever tried (to the point where you can only just see it in the picture below because of how fine it is!) and as a result it’s one of the first things about it I’ve liked most about it.

I’ve always found in the past that most setting sprays make my face feel too wet, when as an oily skinned person I’ve spent time making my skin matte for the day and powdered to finish it off with a spray that almost drenches my face can feel completely counter productive! The fine mist is enough to coat my face in a thin layer without making my skin feel like it’s dripping. The mist is so fine it settles over my powder without taking away that the work it’s been put into place to do. It’s literally the perfect mister.

I do have other sprays that I use for skincare reasons and I’m always comparing how different the misters are from one another. The next thing I love about this is the scent – it has a sweet scent that I think is a little bit almondy and a little bit chocolatey (it’s hard to pinpoint exactly) – not in an overbearing way as they’re scents that I’d normally be like – “ick, can we not?” but it’s luxuriously lovely.

In terms of performance this does add a glow back onto my skin, I find that it adds a naturalness back to the finish of my skin and takes away the uber matte look whilst still giving me the performance of my trusted matte products. I’ve seen those super glowy setting sprays that re out at the moment like the MAC Fix Plus with shimmer and this isn’t that. It’s a natural skin glow type finish, not ultra-shimmer ball. I don’t find it makes a huge difference in the longevity of my makeup but it doesn’t stop my long-wear makeup tips working either, it just adds a nicer finish to my skin.

Not only does this have nice effects visually but in the formula it has a mix of ingredients designed to help on that front too. A ‘Teaoxi’ formula of white, green and red teas are blended to detoxify and fight environmental stressors, whilst caffeine inside is meant to boost radiance and waken up tired skin. Personally I’m not sure that I have seen anything noticeable for my skincare that I’ve added to my routine .

This little bottle has kept me going for the past four months and I have no quibbles over buying the full size. Due to the fact that the mister is so fine on it it feels like it takes a long while to finish up. I’ve used this most days, some days more than once and at just over a third of the size of the full size Glamglow setting spray, the full size of glowsetter would last me around a year. That being said I am going to keep this bottle for either filling up other products with that I’m less keen on the mister on (MAC Fix Plus, I’m looking at you) or refilling with the full size for travel.

I didn’t think I’d be saying that this converted me, or was worth the money. But here I am – a new preacher for this product. This is available from Space NK here – they don’t currently have the small size currently in stock. Personally, I don’t think that this product is raved about enough, I’m not sure why it’s not spoken about more.

What are your favourite setting sprays, have you tried the Glamglow setting spray?

A lot of people say that! They say all nighter is better. I have yet to try that!

I love the Urban Decay All Nighter but it’s so spendy. I love the oil control one from Makeup Revolution. I’ve been enjoying the one from Ofra too (the sprayer on it sucks though, so I dumped it into an empty UD bottle).

I’ve just finished a Mario Badescu Spray in this months empties – that one is more of a skincare product for me and this is more of a makeup setter, they do slightly different jobs for me!

I am still on the zero spray bandwagon. wahahaha I am too lazy for this extra step. I have bought MAC studio fix spray, but never used it *LOL* literately a symbolic collection only

I used to be the same – I’ve tried a few in the past and been like well I don’t know what this is doing, it’s an extra step. Finding the right spray has made it make sense! xx
