Ten Empties #11

Ten Empties #11

It’s been a good few weeks since my last empties, after a little blogging break and a few weekends away the pile started growing to a mammoth old-Rachael-sized empties and I’ve had a full 20 lined up – so there will be another one following not too long after this one! I tried to cherry-pick out the ones I used up first but I couldn’t 100% remember either.

Haircare

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner
I can’t remember where we were but I needed to pick something up and I didn’t want to spend a fortune, but I also wanted to rely on something I knew worked for me. The options were limited but this was a shampoo and conditioner I knew worked well for me when I lived at home many moons ago. I don’t buy this very often as Ben is allergic to these types of lines from Herbal Essences, but I did enjoy using them and found it made my hair soft and clean.
Repurchase? Maybe

Forest Leaves Cooling Shampoo (review)
This took me such a long time to finish, I found that it went really far! This had a nice subtle cooling feeling on the scalp and made me feel refreshed whilst also hair feel clean. I double shampoo but found that this was good as a second shampoo pre conditioner to freshen up the scalp. This is a K-Beauty brand and whilst I love it when I need to repurchase haircare i don’t really plan it out, so I pick up what I can in Boots, Superdrug or the supermarket – therefore I’m not likely to try it again although I would pick it up if I did a purchase other things alondside it.
Repurchase? Unlikely but maybe

Schwarzkopf Got2B Rise N Shine Hairspray (Review)
This was an incredible hairspray, I must have got through ten bottles of it but it’s sadly been discontinued. I won’t talk about it too much because a) I already have done multiple times and b) you can’t buy it and I don’t want to rub this amazing product in your face. No idea why they got rid, but theres no hairspray in the range now so I can only hope they’re maybe re-releasing it in a different guise.
Repurchase? I wish I could. Really.

Bodycare

Sugar Baby Sugar C Crush Body Scrub (Review)
This was only recently finished but I found myself going through it quite quickly thanks to pre-fake tanning and then post oh shit that’s gone patchy tanning.. This was sun an interesting texture to other scrubs I’ve tried, it’s a very balmy feeling dry sugar and smelt good enough to eat. These were stocked in Superdrug but no longer are and can’t be tracked down easily in the UK any more which is a shame!
Repurchase? Maybe would if hand’t been discontinued!

Makeup

Laura Geller Baked Gelato Highlighter in Gilded Honey (Review)
I only reviewed this last week but it was time to admit this was gone. Due to the fact it’s a baked product it doesn’t have that flat pan in the bottom that makes it easy to use up and I found I was having to smush my brushes too much to try and use it up so it was time to call it a day. This is gorgeous, a lovely formula that has different looks of intensity with it.
Repurchase? Maybe but unlikely.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eye Liner (Review)
I finished up my deluxed size sample of this and as a result I also completely finished up all my liquid liners! Whilst I did enjoy this product I found the Illamasqua Precision ink liner went so much further. I got a years worth of use out of that liner but have used up a full size and deluxe side sample of this in around 5 months, so it’s easy to see which is better value for money. If I saw these in my local CCO that sold Stila I would be tempted to pick it up again if it’s on at the right price, but otherwise the Illasmasqua pips it to the post.
Repurchase? Maybe, but unlikely.

Skincare

Caudalie Premier Cru Eye Cream (Review)
This was only opened three weeks ago and I’m surprised at just how quickly I went through it. It’s more expensive than other eye cream favourites, I didn’t think it went as far and I also didn’t feel as if it’s effects were as noticeable as say something like Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery.
Repurchase? No

It’s Skin GF Effector (Review)
This was such an odd little product, it was a very watery texture that played well with other products and I wanted to like it as it felt so nice on the skin. But on nights I didn’t use this  felt like I wasn’t able to see anything noticeably different from the day before – I’ve had much more effective serums.
Repurchase? No

Elemis Gentle Foaming Facial Wash (Review)
This was only recently cracked open and I went through it quite quickly or a generous sized sample. This wasn’t for me, I found like it didn’t make my skin feel properly clean and didn’t quite remove all traces of makeup. I also felt like it didn’t go very far.
Repurchase? No

Extras

Molton Brown Purifying Conditioner
From a beauty box, about half the amount of conditioner my hair needs in one use to make it tameable so was mixed with other stuff.

Philip Kingsley Elasicizer
I’ve used so many tubes of this over the years and I’ve had a couple sat on my Bathroom shelf for 2+ years. This one was part used so I only managed to squeeze out a single use, but I still can’t tell what it does. I classed it as an extra as I don’t feel like in this particular use I formed any opinion on it. I will report back as I’ve gained another bloody tube of it since finishing this one, so I’m back up to two!

Novotel Fair Trade Cane Sugar Shower Gel
A hotel sized that has been sitting in my shower for a long time and I never reached for as it didn’t smell of anything. Gone, goodbye.

Bareminerals Bare Pro Foundation
I’ve heard such good things about this foundation and whilst it looked nice when first applied it wore down far too quickly.

Garnier Oil Beauty Body Lotion
I’ve had a few samples of this in the past and have always enjoyed it, if I ever needed to buy a body lotion I would consider this one!

Colgate Advanced White Toothpaste
My travel toothpaste, not my favourite but it’s cheaper than my norm so if I accidentally leave it somewhere I’m not gutted! Fine enough!

Clarins Multi Active Rose Day Cream
This had a nice subtle rose scent to it and a pretty pink colour formula. Both whilst nice bared no importance of the moisturising effects, but I feel like I was mesmerised into a rosy trance and didn’t pay attention to it’s performance.

Clarins Multi-Active Day Cream
A bit too heavy feeling for my liking. Certainly not day cream territory for this oily lass.

Expired

This is a new section in my Empties but they’re too full in my book to be considered an empty! I’m also not bothering adding these products onto my spreadsheet.

Ready to Wear Serum Foundation
When I did my big declutter a few months ago this went on my dressing table to see if I still liked it. I finally got around to trying it and discovered the serum had all dried up an was now a thick cakey paste.

Kevyn Aucoin Dawn Cream Eyeshadow
I got this in a beauty box and complained that it was dried out but was told “that’s the way it is” – but there is no way that this was THAT bad. You can see finger marks where I’ve made efforts to dig my finger in but it’s so dry it doesn’t have any pigment to it. It’s a shame as it’s gorgeous shade, but it’s just another reason why Look Incredible’s customer service was terrible!

If you saw my instastories over the weekend you’ll have seen that I’m decluttering my collection. These were ones I noticed were dried up and unsalvageable. They’re all glitters!

OPI Rainbow Connection – From the Muppets Collection this was a pretty multi-sized, multi shaped metallic glitter topper.

Pixi – There’s no shade name on this, but who knew Pixi made polish? I mean I had one in my collection and I didn’t know!

OPI My Voice is a Little Norse (review) – This was from the Mariah Carey Christmas collection and I loved it, I’m sad it has dried up as I really loved this shade! It’s a silver glitter with slight blue grey undertone with holo glitter

Barry M 203 – I love this polish but I haven’t worn it in quite some time, I’ll probably pick this up again in future if they still make it! A gorgeous pure blue micro glitter that has gorgeous pigmentation.

CIate Jewellery Box – A black based glitter with large hexagonal chunks of silver holo glitter.

LA Colours Art Deco Silver Glitter Striper – A nail art striper, honestly I’ve had this for 10 years+. I wasn’t surprised it was dried out!

In terms of value the products added to this edition’s spreadsheet were generally low value and there was a few deluxe sample sizes too which didn’t have a value too – so I didn’t top up that many times to a crazy price difference this month, but I’m glad I’ve shed a few more items from the collection so that if, we eventually start moving sometime this century it’s one less thing to pack! You can peek at my 2018 empties spreadsheet at any time by clicking here. I have a new Products I’m Trying to finish up coming imminently which will be my set of products to focus on during the summer, but if you love an empties post and you haven’t been keeping up you can click here to see my Ten Empties series so far.

Have you tried any of these? What have you finished up recently – let me know in the comments below!

Sounds like mostly a neither great nor shit batch of products 😛 The OPI silver polishes are pretty, such a shame glitter shades seem to dry up quicker than creme polishes!

Yeah it’s funny how all of the glitter ones turned dry!
Completely agree – basically a complete pile of maybes!

I write empties posts a lot, but they usually have a million and one products in them. It’s really nice to see this style of empties post! Shame there weren’t many products you love

I used to do huge empties posts but I found that by the end of the month I had so much that it was such a chore to the post, so now I just do them every time I reach 10 full/deluxe size items, much easier to keep a handle on the situation!
