Over the past month or so I’ve picked up a handful of items and I’ve been waiting for them all to slowly arrive. I was convinced I’d pick up at least one new thing whilst in London at the weekend but I didn’t actually do any shopping. I’m now on the 7th of the month and haven’t bought anything beauty related so I’ve decided to try a no-buy for the rest of it, which should be feasible! I’ve ran out of a few things such as liquid liner that are norms in my routine so I’m interested in seeing how I manage to cope with alternatives in my collection for the remainder!
Let’s jump into what I got up to!
Lime Crime Diamond Dew in Paris
I had the lilac version of this (Aurora) which I’ve absolutely loved using and I’ve been after a bright pink liquid shadow for ages and this was the closest I had seen – there was an offer running on Cult Beauty or 15% off and I decided to jump for it as I’d been eyeing it for a few weeks. When it arrived it was much more subdued than it looked online, but with a peachy duochrome hue it was still very pretty so I decided to keep it. I’ve worn this a handful of times so far and featured it on my instastories and it was quite the hit! I still really recommend these and will have them reviewed in full in my liquid eyeshadow post which I’ve been slacking on for a few weeks! Buy at Cult Beauty
Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Perfume
Jo Malone were running an incredibly good deal on their website a few weeks ago and I couldn’t resist splurging on my first Jo Malone perfume and one I had been eyeing for a while. The deal which involved a free item picked from an online claw machine… which you’ll see in a minute when you spent over £40. This was £45 for 30ml so it took me just over the limit but was an item I’ve wanted for a long time. It’s been a long while since I had a sample of this and it’s more wintery than I remember and I remember it being a lot sweeter too! I do like and enjoy this but it’s not what I was exactly signing up for either – but I’m pleased to have finally added this to my collection and started my Jo Malone one off too!
Jo Malone English Oak and Redcurrant
A 100ml bottle of Jo Malone for free? Yes please. I had no idea what this fragrance was like but I decided that even if it wasn’t for me it would make an absolutely lovely gift. The Jo Malone offers were really generous and I’m glad I took the splurge on the offer too. This is almost a unisex type fragrance with the oak notes when first applied but there’s some freshness which appears in the rose base and the redcurrant midnotes. I’ve only sprayed this once but I’m looking forward to putting it to the go fully. This should have had a pricetag of £90.00 so it was an incredible steal!
M&S Formula Absolute Ultimate Lip & Eye Cream
I am on my last dregs of eye cream before I have completely depleted my stash, so it was time to top up my collection with something new and when the offer to buy the M&S beauty box popped up I decided to look at M&S’s options and it wasn’t long before I had settled on this. I am a huge fan of the sleep cream from the same range and this was met with similar positive reviews online so I decided to give it a try. It also doubles as a lip cream too so it makes it a good choice for packing light for travel. It’s sitting front of my skincare stash ready to crack out in a week or two when the others are done!
Pixi Double Cleanse
The final item I picked up from M&S was this cleanser, it’s one I’ve had on my hit-list or a long time now, but I’ve been on a self imposed cleanser ban whilst I made my way through my collection. Whilst I wouldn’t say that I’m completely empty I only have a small handful left now and I felt like the time was right to splurge on this. This is generally a really loved cleanser which contains a solid balm on one side and cream cleanser on the other made in collaboration with the skin goddess Caroline Hirons, however my friend Molly really didn’t get on with it and found it turned really quickly. Despite that it was still something I really wanted to try for myself and the next time I’m turning to my collection to crack a new one open, this’ll be the one I turn to next!
Colourpop Lux Lipsticks in Uno Mas and Foolish
When I was originally writing up some notes about what I had purchased I’d completely forgotten that my friend Lora was bringing these back from the US for me. When we came to place our joint order a lot of the Lux lipsticks I wanted were out of stock – but they were my total normal shades I already have loads of so I decided to step out of my comfort zone with these two shades.
The first Uno Mas was a very peachy toned nude and slightly lighter than I would normally opt for but it was on a model a similar skintone to me and looked lovely so I decided to give it a whirl. Last but by no means least is the shade Foolish, a really unusual orangey brick shade that’s completely unique in my collection – any oranges I have are true oranges and any bricks tend to lean darker and more brown and I can’t wait to see what this looks like on.
I haven’t taken “proper” photos for reviews of these two yet, but I had to swatch them as gently as I could – an the formula of these are incredibly pigmented and creamy. The packaging of these are gorgeous too the star detail and rose gold is super pretty, especially for the budget price they are on at. I can’t wait to report back on these!
So that’s it, not too crazy for a haul but all of the items inside I’m really excited to get trying and playing with!
Let me know in the comments if you have tried any of these or what you’ve been treating yourself to lately!
