The Marks and Spencer Summer Beauty Box 2018

The Marks and Spencer Summer Beauty Box 2018

I missed out on 2017’s Beauty Box from M&S after it came and sold out whilst we were away on our honeymoon, this years though caught my eye and I thought it was the best I’d seen yet from them so I was keen to place an order and get myself their 2018 edit, they only do these once a year and then with the Advent Calendar version in Winter which causes you to spend £X in store to be able to buy something else.

I was eyeing up a couple of items and running low on cleansers *finally!* and the eye cream stash I am also running dangerously low on so I stocked up on those totalling 40-something-pounds in order to buy the box for £15. The box is filled with 16 – yes 16 items which have a value of £135. What I really like about this box is that it’s good for travelling and summer breaks and holidays, perfect sizes to take away with you.

Leighton Denny She’s In Fashion Polish
This is such a pretty pink shade. Leighton Denny is a brand which always seems to apply so nicely on me but I seem to find that they chip really quickly on me, this is a perfect shade for summer though so I’m eager to give it a try!

Nuxe Refreshing After Sun Lotion
I was expecting when I saw a gold coloured Nuxe Tube that it was going to be their shower oil – always a favourite in beauty boxes that goes down well with me too! This will be really handy for travelling, I really like having an after sun to apply after being in the sun to calm the skin down and this is such good size for taking on the go or for the odd night or two away!

Pur Fully Recharged Mascara
I haven’t tried too much from Pur, but I know that this is a mascara that’s really well loved with positive ratings for those who have tried it. It’s somehow powered by magnetic technology which the M&S site is a little unclear on but if applied in a wiggling motion the idea is that the opposites attract and creates extra volume. Clearly one that needs a review as it sounds so different!

Ren Atlantic Kelp & Magnesium Anti-Fatigue Body Wash
A perfect sized sample for a few days or a week away. It’s got a very fresh beachy smell to it that feels quite summery but also friendly to share with any males too as it’s very unisex. It’s described as an anti-fatigue body wash…. which I’m dubious about. However my stash of shower gels is running thin and I’m attempting a total no buy this month so it should help tie me over if I run through my last full size bottle at the end.

Origins Ginzing Energy Boosting Gel Moisturiser
I keep saying I want to try more from Origins, so I was really pleased to see this included. I know some people who love this and some people who find it really sticky. I usually find gel moisturisers work well for me when I’ve been oily and I imagine it would be one I’d be most likely to use in the evening.

Prai AGELESS Throat & Décolletage Crème
Not a product I would have considered trying or I hope really need at the grand ole age of 28, but I will give it a try anyway to see whether there’s any noticeable effects for me! Prai is a brand I haven’t tried anything from in the past so i’ll be intrigued about how this performs.

Color Wow Dream Coat Mini Supernatural Spray
I’ve not tried anything from Color Wow before and as a brand I don’t know too much about them. This product sounds interesting though, but it combats frizz, protects against humidity whilst adding a sleek and shiny finish. Sounds like a good all rounder right?

EOS active pink grapefruit with SPF30
Wow this is strongly scented! I’ve enjoyed EOS lip balms that I’ve tried in the past and I always enjoy them for on the go applications. The added SPF is a welcome addition to the formula for summer time too.

Ultrasun Ultralip SPF30
A little bit samey to the above and it might have been nice to see a sample of their suncream instead, but a lot of the time when it comes to beauty boxes it’s what the brands are willing to supply for inclusion and beggers can’t be choosers! This will go in my lip balm stash too!

Percy & Reed Shine & Fragrance Mist
I’ve not tried a fragrance mist for hair before, they tend to be less of a thing here than other countries. This one is an odd fragrance, I asked Ben what he thought and he said… toilet cleaner, and oddly that’s what I was thinking. It is a very piney type fragrance it’ll be interesting to see whether it becomes more pleasant over wearing it!

Philip Kingsley Coconut Breeze Elasticizer
I’ve never got on with this product at all and have tried this version in the past. At the very least this one makes my hair smell like a tropical goddess even if I can’t see any effects of it smoothing, volumising and making the hair condition look better.

This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray
This is a product I’m going to pass on to someone or put in  my giveaway pile – I’ve had a bottle of this before that is also currently sat in my collection as it’s a lavender based product to help you sleep. Unfortunately I have a lavender allergy and it would keep me awake sleeping.

Autograph Sheer Radiance Eau de Parfum
This was a good choice for a beauty box – it’s not as unique as what I would pick for myself but it’s very unoffensive and would suit everyone. It’s a lovely light and fresh fragrance that leans very floral.

Autograph Lasting Colour Intense Liquid Lipstick
“Ooh what a Rachael shade” I thought as I pulled it out a gorgeous mauvey toned rose pink that has lovely pigmentation from my swatches on my arm. I’m yet to try this on the lips yet but I will be doing before long!

Formula Absolute Ultimate Sleep Cream
I’m already on my second full size of this sleep cream and it’s already a product I’m completely adore and love. Having this for travel is so perfect as the jar is so heavy as it’s glass so this will be my one for on the go. This is a total cult product from M&S’s own range and I’m not surprised they’re including it in this box, I’ve been recommending it to everyone since I tried it. You can find my review here.

Autograph Rainy Day Makeup Bag
Lastly is this lovely little pouch that’s perfect to travel. A gorgeous see-through neon pink design with British summertime weather at it’s best… lightning and clouds with the odd bit of sunshine too! It doesn’t quite fit in all the items but housed the perfect amount for a carry on!

So that’s it! I think it’s a decent and pretty varied collection from this year’s edition of the box. If you’re interested in seeing the past version of it I purchased also you can click here. I’m a fan of the varied brands and items in this months box, I think it would have been nice to see some Pixi in this box and maybe some of the other own brand M&S lines such as the Rosie for Autograph or Ragdale Hall, but overall it’s got a really nice variety!

This is still available if you are looking to order it – it can be ordered online here *link now expired* or picked up in store. Spends of £40+ to qualify to purchase for £15 can be on home, beauty and fashion.

What do you think of this box?

Disclaimer, As many are aware whist I do receive and try products from M&S this was purchased by myself as I loved the look of it!

That pink polish looks like it will pack a punch! The fragrance and the lip colour sound lovely, hope the lip product ends up being a ‘Rachael colour’ πŸ™‚ the pouch is cute too x

I have a couple of dry shampoos from Percy & Reed. I can confirm that they also smell like toilet air freshener! This is such a good beauty box, I must admit I’m tempted x

Mine got here today too and I love it, I think we’ve got similar opinions on everything from first impressions. There are definitely some favourites for me, so far the lipstick and EOS lip balm alongside the night cream which I’ve been loving since I’ve tried the other sample sizes I got, those things last for ages! I’m definitely interested to see what everything is like and some brands I’ve not heard of before. I do wish they’d stop sticking the elasticizer in these things, I’ve yet to find someone who loves it and it’s be nice to try something else instead.

When I re-read what was in my 2016 one it was a bloody elasticizer too! I know a handful of people who love it but it does literally nothing for my hair! At least it’s a version that smells nice though!
I’m looking forward to putting them all to the test!

They’ve been in both advent calendars too I think, they seem to stick them in all these kinds of things.

I’m amazed at the value of the box!
Just REN, Nuxe and Origins are enough to make the value explode.
I’m so jealous of countries with great beauty boxes!

Such a good little box – the only thing I don’t think I’d be interested in is the Percy and Reed spray! We do need some new bits for the house so might just have the make an order…. πŸ‘€πŸ‘€

I use the Elasticizer Occasionally and I’m undecided on it…. but I thought it was just me! Do you have a favourite hair treatment you use instead or are you still searching?
