Five New in the Shower Room #3

Five New in the Shower Room #3

It’s come to the stage where everything in my shower is coming to an end virtually all at the same time – the last dregs of products are in use and when that tends to happen I like to start transitioning the new products in. The main reason I like to do this is to mix up it’s use towards the end is so I can see how one shampoo compares against another for example and it works really well for me in terms of testing products out – however it does create a lot of shower clutter for a week or two!

Herbal Essences Bio:Renew Nourish Shampoo and Conditioner
I have been having lots of luck with the more premium line from Herbal Essences so far, but it’s my first time trying out this particular one. The Nourish line sounded just what I needed and a quick whiff of it in the supermarket sealed the deal – made with passion flower and rice milk it has a creamy floral fruitiness to it which smelt amazing. The rice milk adds a creamier texture to the shampoo and I’ve used this duo a handful of times so far and whilst I love the scent more than any of the others, I think it might be my least favourite of the three lines I’ve tried. It isn’t as nourishing as the Argan Oil line, and it didn’t make my hair as shiny as the White Strawberry and Mint line. The jury is still out and I’ll report back my final thoughts in my empties, but so far it’s not one I’d be repurchasing in future.

Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gel
I’ve had this in my shower for a good couple of weeks now and it’s the last from my Christmas Lush set that I picked up. This isn’t what I think of when it comes to Lush scents, it’s very light and fresh, with a subtle grapefruit scent and all I have to say for it is… it’s really boring. Like all the Lush shower gels that I’ve had from there, the packaging is absolutely awful, the plastic is too hard and makes it a nightmare to squeeze out – I’m looking forward to this ending my run with Lush shower gels, sorry Lushies I ain’t into them.

Elemis Pro-Radiance Gentle Foaming Cream Cleanser
This was less a I’m close to finishing a cleanser up so lets start a new one – than a “I’m really not feeling anything I currently have on the go”. None of my current daily cleansers have been doing it for me so I thought it was time to switch it up – I don’t have too many in my cupboard as backups at the the moment and I only had a small handful of choices. I was intrigued about the concept of a foaming cream cleanser, as creams are normally flat. Again this is something that I’ve used a handful of times so far and I wouldn’t go as far as to say that it’s foaming, but it does create a light sud. Foaming to me almost alludes that it almost bubbles up, but it doesn’t go that far at all. It seems to do an 80% level of removing makeup but struggles under the eye area a little – this is another one where the jury is still out for now, I think it’ll be one I quite enjoy using but probably will not repurchase.

SugarBaby Sugar C-Rush Body Scrub
Another scrub from this brand featured in my first one of these and I was expecting that this would be a similar coffee scrub but with a slightly different scent, but I was surprised when I found out it was a sugar scrub, it has a really different texture to what I’m used to, almost paste like, very claggy but also quite effective on the skin – it doesn’t spread amazingly far on the skin and does melt relatively quickly with water, but it’s moisturising and effective at what it does. Sadly I don’t believe this brand is available in the UK any more I snagged it when it was being discontinued from Superdrug, but it is worth it if you can track it down! I’ve enjoyed both that I’ve tried from the range.

I hope you enjoyed that quick roundup! I’d be interested to hear if there’s anything new you are currently putting to the test in your shower – it’s products I seem to try so frequently because it turns over quickly! So I’m always curious about new things to try and other people’s favourites!

I’ll have to look out for the premium Herbal Essences range here, I haven’t tried the regular range I don’t think but the new scents and products sound good overall.
