Debenhams, TK Maxx & More Beauty Haul – March 2018

Debenhams, TK Maxx & More Beauty Haul – March 2018

I must congratulate myself for being a much better behaved human this year. At Christmas I made a vow to myself to start being really considerate about what I was adding into my collection as well as making an active effort to use things up and so far this year there’s been one haul after a successful no-buy in January. My Haul mostly consisted of purchases made with birthday vouchers for Beauty Bay and I had some left over for Debenhams I’d been waiting to spend.

This weekend we headed out of the house – which for me was the first time in 6 days – I was at the point where I was going completely stir crazy after heavy snow meant I couldn’t get to work and had to work from home and it was too dangerous to go walk the dogs. I was definitely, I’m happy to be out in the big wide world mood and the TK Maxx I visited for some cushions (I came out with no cushions) ended up being surprisingly good. I also bought myself some new storage solutions.

B&M Bargains

Acrylic Storage Drawer Separators (£1.99-£2.99)
I’d heard that B&M had started doing these makeup drawer organisers about a month ago an I’ve kept meaning to go and pick some up. I finally got across and I must say that I’m really impressed with the quality of them. I think I slightly underestimated the amount of these I could fit in, so I’m going to see what I can fit in and whether I need to reorganise any differently. There will be a post coming on this!

Essence Mahogany Apples (£3.99)
These are the Bath and Body Works dupes which are nothing like Bath and Body Works candles. They’re still in winter mode at the moment – this one is a pretty olive green that will go nice in our bedroom. These are really strongly scented but don’t burn very well.

Bed Head After Party (£6.99)
This is such a nostaglic product for me and not one that I’ve had in a few years. I discovered this back in the days when I was wanting to become a hairdresser when I started my Saturday Job/Apprenticeship. I’ve not had this in a good few years but when I saw it for such a good price.

Bed Head Masterpiece Shine Hairspray (£6.99)
My favourite hairspray has been discontinued and I’m down to my last can – I’ve started trying to hunt it down in all these discount type stores but so far no luck. This sounds kind of similar to my favourite from Schwarzkopf Got 2 B rise which is a light formula hairspray with shine qualities. Fingers crossed this works, also it was a decent price for Bed Head!

Debenhams

Too Faced Diamond Light Highlighter
Part of my birthday present from work was a Debenhams voucher. I was waiting for a couple of things to come back in stock and they both did at the same time. If you saw my spring beauty lusting you will have seen that this was on my list. I just couldn’t resist it. I’ve had this for almost 2 weeks now and still haven’t swatched it!

Kat Von D Lock it Foundation in Light 47
This is my all time favourite foundation – I haven’t had it in around 6 months as I’d been finishing others up. Lots of my remaining foundations stopped being a good match for me colour-wise, so I decided that it was justifiable that I could pick this up. I’m trying to limit how much I use this as I know I’ll just whizz through it really quickly so it’s reserved for a few days a week only whilst I try and make others work!

TK Maxx

Too Faced Size Matters Mascara (£6.99)
Unopened Too Faced Mascara in TK Maxx? Yep that’s coming home with me and it was immediately picked up. I think this has been discontinued in the UK although it does still seem to be available on the US’ Too Faced Site. This is a lengthening and curling mascara – I really like Better than Sex, so I hope this lives up to the same hype.

Stila Aqua Glow Foundation in Light (£4.99)
This was a gamble, it was sealed and I just had to make the guess that Light might be a good colour match. I’m at my palest at the moment and I’ve wanted to try this for a while. Luckily my gamble paid off and it’s the perfect colour match for me. I can’t wait to trial this out more as the swatches I did on my hand when I got home suggest it might be something really special.

Stila Shape and Shade Contour Duo in Medium (£5.99)
This was another product that was a gamble on shades, I wish I’d been naughty and opened this up and took a peek, without disrespectin’ the makeup and swatching it (LOOK WITH YOUR EYES TK MAXX SHOPPERS!). I would have soon realised it was WAY to dark. So much so I’m struggling to know how or if I can make this work, I might be able to get away with using the contour shade very sparingly but it’s safe to say that the highlight shade is too dark as a highlight… concealer at a push.

Eylure Fleur de Force Brow Palette in Medium (£1.99)
I can’t help but feeling that these aren’t selling well – I’ve heard of people across the country picking these up in TK Maxx’s and the store didn’t have the odd one or two, they probably had 20+. I know loads of people who love these and I couldn’t resist at the price – these are normally £12.00

The Creme Shop Glow Up Skin Face Masks (£4.99)
I was looking for something a bit different to shake up my Face Mask Friday Series and this was just what the doctor ordered. I’ve not tried a sheet mask with a design on yet, and you an trust me with a ridiculous mirror shot which will match up perfectly with this mask. I thought originally this was a three piece mask due to the fact it was worded very differently to others they had from this brand, but I’ve opened it up and seen that it was three separate ones and it’s already getting prepped for a face mask Friday – but it’s made in Korea, so fingers crossed this is a good find.

Facialderm Exfoliating Foot Socks (£6.99)
I’ve been wanting to get some of these for a while. I’ve mentioned a few times on my blog that the skin on the soles of my feet is always pretty dry, hard and scaly. I really struggle to do anything about it myself due to the problems with my hips (hense why I also go get my toes done I cant bend myself at the right angles to paint them!) but this kind of thing could just be what I need. You leave these on for an hour and then over the week the idea is that your feet peel. Let me know if you’re interested in seeing a review of these. I’m happy to include gross picture of my feet.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Rose (£24.50)
Now this isn’t actually for me, it’s for my Best Friend Abi. She recently finished hers up and was enquiring whether I knew of any dupes. When I spotted an unopened one up in TK Maxx I text her and asked her if she wanted me to grab it because it was £10 off what it would have been elsewhere. I opened it up when I got home to check it wasn’t secretly smashed an needed returning, but I couldn’t resist sharing what a good deal this was – and if you’re looking for these TK Maxx is a good place to head!

DW Home Candles (£2.99-£5.99)
We went a bit mad on candles whilst we were out, we bought 5 in total but felt that these deserved an honorable mention – our house has been valued and is coming onto the market next week and we wanted some nice candles to leave burning whilst we have viewings (something that when we went to view a house a few weeks ago made me consider buying the house because it smelt so good… even though it wasn’t quite right). The DW range of candles smell really strong, they’re actually TK Maxx home brand, the two scents I picked up are pretty different, I wish I’d been able to find a large version of the Rose one, it smells incredible – that will be reserved for second viewings… when we really want to hook ’em in haha!

That’s my haul from the weekend. Let me know what you’ve treated  yourself to recently in the comments… it doesn’t have to be beauty!

I remember during that Bed Head After Party back in like 2000/2001 all the time. Might need to revisit it sometime.

I’m coming to TK Maxx with you. I swear mine only has half used, mushed up , swatched to death items! You got some gorgeous bits and very intrigued by the new highlighter. It’s beautiful! ❤️

I love beauty hunting in TK Maxx! I don’t always find gems though – the last few times I went, there was very little stock left but I’m putting it down to the aftermath of Christmas. Hopefully they would’ve stocked up on some ‘new’ things by now.

So far, I have gotten all my acrylic storage from TK Maxx too! It’s just so much cheaper but of the same sort of quality. I fear ordering online since I don’t like the idea of the acrylic scratching or worse – getting broke whilst being delivered.

Please review the foot socks when you can! People don’t talk about foot care enough I feel.

No me neither, it’s very hit and miss – or what’s even worse is when you find lots of great products and then discover they’ve been opened!
I can never find acrylic storage in TK Maxx – I bought my last lot of drawers on eBay and I hate them, the drawers are too finicky and small, I want some bigger ones from Muji, but I will wait till we move!
Foot post in the making – I decided to put them on last night after writing this post up!

TK Maxx sounds like the place to go for beauty bargains! I feel you on the foundation front, I’m in a bit of a rut lately but I’d rather use up what I have first before buying more because the ones I have are usable. I like your candle idea 🙂 I’ve treated myself to a couple of new books in the past week, books are normally expensive to buy so I borrow from the library but these two were good prices!

I love TK Maxx for trying stuff I wouldn’t normally necessarily because it’s a bit cheaper – it’s lead to me discover some favourites that I’d never have tried otherwise. It’s just a shame that the way they package stuff leads to so much opened stuff – I feel like everything should be protected in security boxes!
Books can get pricey, especially new ones when they’re only available in Hardback!

I went shopping this weekend at TJMaxx and picked up a really cute floral Steve Madden backpack. I also got a few boots and clothing items elsewhere. Nice haul!✨

SO MANY GOOD DEALS!!! <3 Let me know what you think about the Too Faced highlighter! It looks so tempting, but when I swatched it at Ulta, I was a little disappointed.

NGL it was bought for the packaging more than anything – mine doesn’t seem to have the same intense marble effect that the pictures online showed 🙁

The packaging and presentation is for sure spot on! I just wish the product itself was as amazing!

I also love the KVD Lock it foundation. I only recently bought it, but I truly love it now.. Although I still think Estee Lauder Double Wear is number one.
I can’t believe you got the Fleur eyebrow palette for £1.99! I would have deffo picked one up at that price x

That Bed Head After Party packaging is totally sexual. I’ve picked that bottle up countless times to buy it as a gag but I decided that the product isn’t for my hair type. 😛
Nice scores at TK Maxx with the Too Faced, Stila, and Bobbi Brown items! So rare to find makeup untouched… you have to be right there as they unpack the crates!

I think people in that particular store just didn’t know what the good stuff was – I went really late in the evening as they were tidying the carnage up!
Yep after party definitely is heading that way! It’s a great product though, I like it most for styling curls

Amazing haul, how are you finding the Too Faced highlighter?

Great post lovely! 🙂 This was a makeup lovers dream haul! 😀 Desperate to get my hands on that unicorn face mask – CUTE AS A BUTTON! 🙂 x

I guess it is a little hard holding temptation of buying stuff you can add to your collection. These are all awesome collectibles and great products as well.

So many great steals from TK Maxx, the amount of times I have searched through the beauty stands and the products have been swatched or opened is ridiculous X
