Lancome La Nuit Trésor Perfume Review

Lancome La Nuit Trésor Perfume Review

Since the end of 2015 I’ve really worked on whittling down my perfume collection to a much smaller selection of ones that I truly love. It’s rare when I’m sniffing away, usually in Boots that there’s any that I smell and think “Yes,  I want to add that to my collection”. I smelt Lancome La Nuit Trésor Perfume in summer and didn’t stop thinking about it. I added it to my Christmas list and was kindly gifted it to my Mum and Dad and it’s safe to say that this treasure is one that’s likely to stay in my collection for many coming seasons.

Over the past few years I’ve found myself growing out of sweet perfumes that used to be my favourites as my nose has changed often edging towards rich ambers and soft florals. There’s something about this scent I found captivating and every time I went back to a respritz I fell in love with it a little bit more. The fragrance was released in 2015 and it was only in 2017 that I saw it start to be pushed more in stores, sitting in front of the popular La Vie Est Belle from Lancome instead of nestled behind it and in many ways I can see similarities between the two. La Vie Est Belle is my sister’s signature scent and whilst I don’t own it, it always reminds me of her, before I owned this every time I smelt it, it always felt reminiscent.

We can’t start this review without discussing the packaging, it’s a multi-faceted diamond-shaped bottle that lays tilted on its side, with a dark black edge that creates an ombre smokey effect over the rest of the glass over the blush pink fluid underneath. It’s eye-catching and sparkles in the light as you turn it. It’s the little details that count when it comes to high-end perfumes and the square crystal effect lid with La Nuit Tresor of the perfume engraved on the topper to the rose detail with the ribbon that ties around the neck baring the perfume’s name are the finishing touches to make this feel ultra special.

I’m not normally the biggest fan of Gourmand perfumes, but if there’s one I can make an exception for it’s this one. On first spritz the top notes of pear, bergamot and tangerine have a freshness which is soon engulfed in the sweetness of praline, caramel and vanilla. As the perfume settles lots of other notes come into play, floral notes of rose, orchid and patchouli compliment the muskier notes that lie alongside it. It’s a complex fragrance that’s easy to pick out floral, sweet and musky notes and somehow they all just work together perfectly.

Over the past month of owning this perfume I’ve found it to be my go-to for special occasions and if allow myself maybe a weekend wear (but I am desperately trying to savour this, which is difficult as each time I wear it, it becomes more of a favourite).  The longevity this perfume has through the day is fantastic, and I find myself using one to two sprays of this, it’s powerful and is worth every penny.

When I’ve spritzed this on a scarf or something, days later I can pick it up and smell an immediate waft of this still lingering with the warm sweet notes of caramel, praline and vanilla being the stand outs. I think it’s important to note that I’m not normally a vanilla fan, in fact I tend to bloody hate it and won’t let a vanilla candle anywhere near my house, so this is well worth a sniff if you are in the same boat.

What is your favourite fragrance at the moment? Have you tried Lancome La Nuit Trésor Perfume?

This bottle is absolutely gorgeous, great photo prop opportunity there! I do like vanilla scents myself but there’s got to be something mixed with the vanilla otherwise it can be too sweet. This perfume sounds like it has great lasting power too which is always a plus! x

I find Lancome perfumes have the best longevity. La Vie Est Belle was my wedding perfume, and I can always smell it from a mile off when someone else is wearing it. When I wear it, I can smell it for days after on coats, scarves or even my car seatbelt. My sister always used to wear Tresor when she was younger so it always reminds me of her. I bought Tresor Midnight Rose at the airport last year and I think it’s my current fave perfume. I’ve not sniffed this one yet, but I have a feeling it’ll be one I add to my wishlist as soon as I do! Gorge photos as always xx

The only comparable perfume I have in my collection at the moment longevity wise is Tom Ford Black Orchid! I completely agree though this lingers so well – I can even smell it on bras where I’ve not sprayed it!
I must admit it wasn’t until I was researching what Tresor translated to that I discovered they had more in the range than this one…. I need to go smell some more now! Midnight Rose just sounds like something I would like!
I really like La Vie Est Belle and it is a very iconic scent, it’s become so synonymous with my sister though I don’t think I’ll ever buy it for myself!

I literally just got this last week! Isn’t it wonderful? It’s a bit sweeter than my usual perfumes, but it’s so beautiful with the lychee top note. I love this stuff because it actually lasts all day on my perfume-absorbing skin!

It’s a lot sweeter than what I’ve been geared towards for a few years! Sometimes that Lychee hits me, sometimes I completely miss it. I’m in love with it though it’s got some power!

This might be some of the most beautiful packaging I have ever seen.

I’m looking to expand my collection a bit, so I’ll have to check this out. I currently only have 2 perfumes. I’m obsessed with my Dolce and Gabbana Rosa Excelsa right now. By far my favorite in a long time.

I currently have about 10 – I’m looking to get it down to around 5-7, I have a couple left to use up that I’m not particularly keen on. I’ve never heard of that one from D&G I’ll have to check it out!xx

I love Mon Guerlain but I’m allergic to the lavender notes in which make me sneeze! Alien is one I used to love but it really doesn’t agree with my skin chemistry any more, I really like it on other people though!

🙂 lately I’ve been also using Nina Ricci Nina! I tried it and I’m in love! Oh I’m so sorry that you cant use the Mon Guerlain!
