Empties Day – Fragrance & Bodycare

Today I wanted to essentially get all my empties out of the way from October-December and I didn’t want to drag it out over loads of days but also didn’t want to do a super-long post. So there will be not one, not two, not three but four posts going live today – you can pick the topics that interest you the most. Here’s the mixed one, fragrance, body care & nails…

Fragrance

Versace Bright Crystal Perfume
I got this mini bottle back in Spring and have been savouring it’s use in my handbag since then. It’s a lovely scented perfume, floral and the full size bottle of this is pretty – but I find it doesn’t have much longevity for me.
Repurchase? No

The Body Shop White Musk Libertine Perfume
I think this is my second bottle of this stuff and I have one left. This used to be a limited edition perfume that would come back once a year, but I haven’t seen it since I started buying it. So I fear it’s been discontinued for good. A lovely non-offensive floral smell that works really well with layering with some other muskier perfumes for giving them a different vibe.
Repurchase? I’m treasuring my last bottle!

Impulse Be Surprised Spray
This was an item I’d placed in my wedding bathroom boxes – and it didn’t get used, or at least finished so it was an item I ended up finishing. This was okay, I try to avoid aerosols as a general rule. This was nice enough, non-offensive.

Sure Invisible Black and White Deodorant
I’ve been working on about 6 stick deodorants this year, I keep going places and forgetting them and buying another and having loads on the go at once so it’s taking me ages to get through them. This one was another one bought for the wedding bathroom boxes so again it was used up. Same as above, it was okay but didn’t find it as effective as my normal Mitchum creams and also Aerosol.

Chelsea Candle Gooseberry and Elderflower
I thought I would give this a quick mention as I got it as PR at an event. This was a nice fresh scent that made the room fill with scent. I wouldn’t rebuy because it wasn’t a favourite scent of mine, and the company plays the follow unfollow game on Instagram and I’m just not down with that!
Repurchase? No

Shower Gels & Bath

Filou Fizzy Berry Shower Foam (review)
I bought this as I was very curious about this range and fancied something new to try and something that felt a bit more luxe than a shower gel as a treat. This was lovely, I found that I didn’t go through it as quick as most of these type of products seem to disappear and I loved the scent, it did smell like a fizzy drink without being too sickly.
Repurchase? Already have.

The Body Shop Polynesian Island Riare Shower Gel
I had this sat in my shower-room as a spare for ages as soon as I got back from honeymoon it started getting used. Everything in Bali smelt like this gorgeous flower and it was a nice way to keep taking me back.
Repurchase? I would but I believe it was a limited edition one, I will keep my eye out in my local outlet though!

Mason & Miller and Eco-Boutique Shower Gels
Another left over from basket of minis for weddings at the cottage, I’m slowly making my way through these to declutter them from my bathroom cupboard.

Lucy Annabella Uplifting Bath Oil
I couldn’t remember exactly the name of this brand or company, as the letters on the bottle all started to rub off and the pattern started disintegrating every time I picked it up. I haven’t used this in ages, I essentially bought this as bathroom decoration as I wanted a fancy looking bath product for the side. This was something silly like £40 a bottle but I bought it when I worked in TV shopping in a staff sale for 50p. I noticed recently what was left in the bottle (as I have used it a few times) and separated and was looking a bit gross, and as the bottle was also starting to look manky I decided to toss it.

Nails

Classics Pump It Up Nail Polish Remover
I’ve had this bottle for ages, and actually I just buy one of these which have a flat top pump on (Which I find means product doesn’t get used up as quick) – but the pump on this one has gone so I’ve replaced it with a new one, I’ve been refilling it for about two years!

Body

The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Body Butter
I’m so happy this has gone, the more I used it the more I decided I didn’t love the scent. This was a past limited edition item that smelt like a field of poppies had caught on fire. I think I must have ordered this blind online as I wouldn’t have chose it in a store. Many other Body Shop fragrances I way prefer!

Teeth

Colgate Max White Luminous Toothpaste
Just like Deodorants I work on multiple toothpaste tubes at a time, I tend to have a mix of whitening and cleaning ones, and to be honest I don’t really have a preference, I think they all do the same – but out of a general feeling that I’m using a mix makes me feel better, the biggest part of toothpaste for me is taste and this one was nice enough!
