Manna Kadar Runway Ready Primer Review

Manar Kadar Runway Ready Primer

A good few months ago I selected a couple of items from Manna Kadar in my Love Me Beauty box – one of the ones I was most excited to try was the Manna Kadar Runway Ready Primer, mainly because it had as many bold claims as I do beauty products (okay, maybe a slight exaggeration). But either way it basically promises to be an all signing, all dancing, all fire eating and knife throwing primer.

This tiny sample of the Manna Kadar Runway Ready Primer you may think wouldn’t have lasted me very long, but I’ve used this at least once a week since May when the box arrived and in the past few weeks I’ve used it daily (I’ve been determined to have a bit of a clear out of my half-used items in my face drawer), and it’s just bitten the dust on Monday this week. This has had a really good go and I can definitely say I have some real opinions on it’s performance.

The packaging of this is quite lovely, it’s a simple squeezy tube that has a slight kind of frosty feeling effect thanks to the soft-touch feel of the plastic. It has foily gold letters and a baby pink cap – it definitely feels like a brand which has been born out of being something created for Instagram. However this primer is expensive and it’s just a squeezy tube – for $42 I’d expect a pump. Manna Kadar is a brand I basically knew nothing about prior to buying – and to be honest I’m none the wiser thanks to the about page on her website. She seems like someone who liked makeup from an early age, but what exactly her experience was with beauty before starting her own brand is unclear.

Thankfully I’d put in my beauty box post everything this claimed to do, because this has gone from something that claimed to clean your kitchen sink to almost having no information on it’s product page online. So here’s at my point of picking this, it’s claims; Mattifying, Pore & Line Filling, Moisturising, 16 Hour Wear & Lightweight. That’s a lot for one primer, and at $42 it should be.

Manna Kadar Runway Ready Primer Texture

The texture of this is quite weird, it’s like a thick, wet silky gel that I don’t particularly like the feeling of. It feels almost greasy as you’re massaging it in and it always tends to make me feel like I’m starting off on the wrong foot. Once it’s rubbed into the skin the gel mattifies down, but I can feel it on my skin. Inspecting my skin before and after I can see that my currently wide and open pores have a blurred effect and feel quite filled in, so all you would think would be good, but sadly that’s where the good news stops.

I honestly don’t know how I persevered with the Manna Kadar Runway Ready Primer for so long, no other primer has made me as big of a greaseball as what this one does. I don’t find that my makeup blends particularly well on top of this, and my midday my T-zone is really, really greasy feeling – no matter what foundation I use, or just how much I cake myself in loose powder.

The Manna Kadar Runway Ready Primer might not be suitable for oily skin – although you’d think with claims of mattifying that it would be and for normal and dry skins this might worth better, but I’m not sure that at $42 it would be worth the gamble. To put that into other brand terms, Marc Jacobs Primers which are incredibly well rated are $44.

I’ve never heard of the brand to be honest – don’t think I’d ever spent $42 on something I’ve never heard of either 🙈 sad you didn’t get on with it – but good on you for persevering! x.

Wow that’s a lot of money for a primer!! I thought this was a Collection primer at first the packaging is so similar! Definitely not worth the money! Xxx

no the fact it doesn’t even have a pump for $42! It is quite similar to that collection one you passed on to me – I prefer the collection one though!

$42 for a primer, that is actually rather shitty? No thanks! I’d definitely be avoiding this! x

No pump for an expensive primer? And it doesn’t live up to its claims? definitely a skip!

Eek it is expensive! I don’t know how you carried on. I used a Sephora primer a few months back and my skin was so oily, it broke my makeup down to nothing in hours. It had to go x

I’ve been mac on my MAC oil control primer the past few days and my makeup is lasting, I forgot it did that! I’m committed to properly trying things even if they’re crap haha!

😂 you’re great. I went out one day and as I wanted nice photos, I couldn’t bare that my makeup was melty and greasy. I gave it a few weeks to work its magic😂 Ooh I’m trying to think if I’ve tried that Mac one x

I’ve always wondered about her products . Yeah I can’t stand primers like that. You feel like you can take your fingernail and scrape it . I honestly love CT Wonderglow . It’s soooooo nice. ♥️
