Look Incredible November 2017

My new job is keeping me so busy that I don’t have time to ponder when my next makeup/beauty delivery is arriving any more, so when this arrived on Wednesday morning at work on my desk it took me completely by surprise. Not only that the box shape wasn’t the usual for Look Incredible and I was wondering what the bloody hell I’d ordered now (it’s more often that over mystery PR packages!).

The box shape was different because the box has had a little revamp in it’s design. I’m not 100% sure that I’m a fan of it in all honesty. I wasn’t a huge fan of the last style of box, so much so the box itself rarely featured in my pictures. It’s definitely better quality, and I like the ribbons on the side, which keep the lid from falling back, kinda like a jewellery box. But the silver texture reminds me a bit of a cake board, and the silver ribbon and jewel on top makes me think of craft kits I had as a kid. I feel like they took a step forward in some areas and a step back in others. I’ve seen online the deluxe box also got a make over this month into gold.

The plus though? This is real good month.

Before we get onto that, I always talk about the box briefly for those who aren’t aware, Look Incredible is a premium subscription service which has three levels of Subscription. I’m on the standard one which is £25.00 per month  – it’s filled with five (mostly) premium brands and products. They have a deluxe subscription at £35 with slightly higher value items and brands, and a bi-monthly £65 per box subscription that’s hugely valued. There’s only been one £65 box so far so the jury is still out on that one, but this month’s Deluxe subscription is also a total banger of a month too.

Let’s jump in…

Too Faced Funefetti Ultra Plush Lipgloss in Mocha Freeze / £15

If you’re a regular reader you’ll know that I’m not big on lipgloss. I hate the sticky feeling and I just don’t find myself reaching for them all that often. If I were to pick a lipgloss it would look exactly like this, it has slight silver flecks in which make the lips look really plump and full, the formula is really thin and non-sticky feeling, and a gorgeous neutral shade that will work really well layered over lots of lipsticks. I’ve already been wearing it, and I’m already a fan – as glosses go.

Too Faced Heart Shaped Flatbuki Brush / £12

Not one but two Too Faced products in one box? Winner. Initially I was a bit like, oh this is cute but it’s only going to make a cute prop for photos, but there more I’ve thought about it, I’m wrong. This is the perfect brush to keep in your bag for on the go, or in your clutch for events for repowdering. I’ve had a Too Faced brush in this box before and this meets that one’s super soft standards.

Coastal Scents Winterberry Palette / £14

Agh, this is a little bit disappointing as it isn’t that long since another Coastal Scents palette featured in the box in exactly the same format. Whist I adore the look of the shades in here, I know I really didn’t love the last one that I tried of these and whilst I’m digging the gorgeous violets which I want to dig into and swatch away on, I don’t anticipate my opinion on the CS formula will change. So I’ll put it in my giveaway pile in the hope it’ll end up finding a better home.

CID Mascara I Intense/ £20

CID is a brand which I don’t think I’ve ever tried anything from, although I may be wrong as it was the kind of brand that always used to crop up as a freebie frequently in magazines. This sounds like the kind of mascara I would normally like, being called high impact and volume – but online it has a bit hit or miss reviews, but I’ll be willing to find out what I think of it.

YSL Dessin Du Regard Waterproof Liner in Aegean Blue / £15

A year ago I would have grumbled at a non black or brown liner, but as  I have enough black eyeliners to give to everyone on my street, a blue makes a pleasant change. I really like the shade of this, it’s not so bright it won’t get much wear, but not so dark that it may as well be black, it’s the perfect flattering in between that will look great on most skintones and eye colours.

I think that this month was a really good mix of products from Look Incredible, I was really pleased to see that there wasn’t any skincare or nail kits and it was back to being a makeup filled selection.

What do you think of this month’s box?

That’s such a good box! I love the look of the palette shades but remember you didn’t get on very well with the last palette which is a shame! xx

Love the blue shade you got your liner in! Mine was a much paler and less werable shade!

I did too! I’ll have to keep a look out for what other shades people received. Still a good box this month though!

Some of the shades in the Coastal Scents palette look lovely but on a whole I’m not sure I’d reach for it. The Too Faced kabuki brush is cute and I love the sound of the lipgloss. The gold handle on is pretty! x

I agree, it’s a bit too coloured and it’s pretty much all shimmers, if it had some darker mattes and lighter inner corner shades it would be a bit more of a full palette, but I don’t think I’d pick it up that often for that reason either!

I love the Too Faced things! I’m tempted to subscribe to this. x
