Face Mask Friday #47 – Beautaniq Beauty Radiant Glow Sheet Mask

Beautaniq Beauty Radiant Glow Sheet Mask

Well, we’re getting dangerously close to number 50 in this series aren’t we? I’m going to have to raid my drawer for number 50 and look for something a bit special or different sounding. Alternatively a trip to TK Maxx to find something weird and wonderful might be in order. I received the Beautaniq Beauty Radiant Glow Sheet Mask at the start of the month in my Pink Parcel, and was instantly intrigued by it as I’d never heard about or seen the brand before.

My curiosity led to me researching the brand, but their website doesn’t give much away. The package mentions London, but the prices on the website are $ – so I’m confused who made this brand and what the story is behind it. All I know is that it’s all natural, suitable for sensitive skins, vegan, cruelty, sulphate and mineral oil free. All good things.

So the Radiant Glow mask – quite simply has gorgeous packaging. It’s fun and sleek at the same time, with huge sliced papayas adjacent to lilpads dotted with women diving, sunbathing and swimming. Promising itself as Brightening, Plumping and Youth Activating it, with cute little icons, the packaging is really well thought out and it immediately made me want to use it.

I was really hopeful of this as far as sheet masks go, actually listing a list of ingredients I know to be brightening, Strawberry, Tomato, Lemon, Papaya and Kiwi are all fruits with good levels of vitamin c and enzymes to make the skin glow. The mask also has Niacinamide which works to reduce pore visibility, reduce signs of wrinkles and improve the skin’s complexion. Overall I was really hopeful.

Opening it up, the Beautaniq Beauty Radiant Glow Sheet Mask had a very fresh scent, definite notes of fresh fruits hit without being overpoweringly so. The sheet was a normal texture and weight, but the serum on the tissue was completely sodden and very thin and watery feeling, which caused the mask to slide around a little, I found myself having to readjust it several times during my wear as it just kept wanting to move.

There’s nothing quite like a sheet mask to make you consider the proportions of your face, in this case it had me questioning if my eyes were too big and too far apart as the holes for the eyes were quite small and close together, whilst the nose area was huge, and there was an unexplained chin split. Dog friendliness with this sheet mask was an all time low, they wanted to come no where near me whilst this was on. As sheet masks go this one was pretty ill fitting.

I followed the instructions clearly  and left this on for around 20 minutes, the serum felt very fresh and soothing on the skin – it had a really cool feeling too but I’m finding it hard to determine whether that was down to the mask itself or the fact it was stored in my beauty cupboard in my spare room away from any radiators, but it did seem unusually cold if that was the reason.

Initially when all the excess serum dried down and sank into the skin, it felt uncomfortably tight and a little dry, that feeling lasted around half an hour.  When I inspected my skin I noticed that my skin looked like it had more colour and did look a bit brighter, I was hoping to see some other effects thanks to the Niacinamide, but it didn’t stretch to changing the appearance of my pores in an instant. I think this was a decent mask and it would be one I would consider getting again… if I could pinpoint where the hell it’s actually coming from.

Let me know if you’ve heard or seen this brand before and know any more info about it!

Its a shame that you couldn’t find out where this mask is from exactly! It sounds like a pretty good brightening mask though, aside from the fitting of it xx
